It's not about good or bad, it's about what we ask for. If we ask for help finding the assassin, we'll have trouble finding an assassin in the future (if we ever have reason to look again), and if we ask for help with being found by the assassin, then the next time an assassin tries to find us they'll have trouble doing so. Which could still be bad, if the next assassin is as blunt as this one about Tali actually being a male elf and as willing to mention it to random people.
