You quickly throw on some clothes and mark your calendar. Today is the day you're finally gonna venture out from your city home. You've had your backpack, freshly emptied of school supplies, ready with maps and water from the night before. You then checked your map of where you wanted to go.

After a glance at your maps, you decide to stop at the local Mage Guild before heading out. In the case that you forgot, I'll fill you in. For the longest time, magic was just a fairy tale. One day, however, it was discovered to be true. Since then, guilds were formed to practice and perfect the use of magic. Not much progress has been made over the years, aside a few overachievers, You're trying becoming one of those overachievers, but to no avail. As you near the door, a member of the guild approaches you.

Why it's Liliana the Summoner, she's not that good at her job, but what she lacks in power, she makes up for in sheer volume. She has successfully summoned from some alternate dimension thousands of cats and a single exceptionally small Cheetah.

Its your friend, Liliana. She seems to have spawned a large number of cats. You have the feeling its in the thousands. Isn't one of those a baby cheetah? She then proceeds to have a conversation with you.
"Hey Averi!" she says, greeting the boy.
"Hey Liliana," you reply, "Trying to sell some cats?"
"No, not particularly," She say in a slightly disappointed tone.
"Aw, that's a shame!"
"Say, isn't today the day you're going on your great adventure?"
"Yup! I'm headed out on my own today! I figured I'd drop by and say my goodbyes beforehand. You guys have kind have been a second family to me."

"Well, before you go on your adventure," She says, "I'd like to give you this"
She hands you a necklace with the symbol of the first mage made out of a crystal like substance.
"Its said that the people who wear the first mage's symbol on their journeys will have good fortune," she says
"Thank you," you reply
"Well I mustn't keep you," she says, "Have a safe journey and may the first mage's charm bring you good fortune"
She then walks off to gather some of the cats.

Can all the magic be marginally useless? Pastancy and cat summoning aren't exactly glamorous so we're off to a good start.
