"Roksild" a Human with long unkempt black hair says as he lies in front of you "You are Roksild right?"
"Aye" You answer truthfully "That is me, and who are you?"
"The leader of this caravan" The man says "You've met my disciple before, I take it?"
"The small girl with chestnut hair? Yes. Yes I did"
"Well, whatever she said is pure shit, I need to address some issues concerning the slaves you have" The Human says as he looks at you with a cold stare, same as the woman you've met before "Supposedly they are free men now, but the families behind my command are scared of them, they fear they will start revolting the moment someone looks badly at them" He says, stroking his beard as he does so
"Yes, and?"
"We want you to watch for them, just kill them if they start rioting or something, I don't know" a whisper of doubt showing in the human's face as he says so
>1. "I only work for coin"
>2. "They're free men now, Your assistant said so"
>3. "I'll watch the back of my men, that counts yours by some extension"

>3. "I'll watch the back of my men, that counts yours by some extension"

"I'll watch the back of my men, that counts yours by some extension"
The human keeps looking at you for some seconds before retreating to his own caravan
"You're going to defend them?" A young man says, blonde hair knotted in a ponytail, and a face covered in scars, all of them from battle
"Of course not Erik, I'm just appeasing him, the supplies they're giving us are plenty, but if they die, it's pretty much better better for me" You answer with a slight smile
"I understand....But you know they aren't slaves, They are much more rowdier than that. And if those idiots realize tha-"
"Then we retreat with as much stuff as we can, kill anyone that gets in our way, the way we always do"

>Roksilds fighters are okay

>You are now the Disciple
Day has been uneventful, not much to talk about really
Harold is talking with his wife, as usual
Old man is in the cart, doing some push-ups to keep in shape
The slaves are walking normally, but they talk a lot between themselves
>Rest for the day
>Ask Old man to go hunting (3 left)
>Incestigate the slaves
>Keep marching for the rest of the day

>>Incestigate the slaves
It's the biggest problem at the moment. It would be good to gain some kinda trust or info.

You slow your pace and look at the slaves, most of them don't really look like slaves at all, women have their hair combed and men don't look like they were feed badly.
The group of twenty or so people looks at you for a while before talking between themselves
You notice that the center of all the talk is an old lady with white her and a somewhat majestic aura, holding something akin to a walking cane, and next to her a blonde girl about your age, her hair braided and knotted which surprises you.
You decide that you shouldn't be nosing too much or they would get suspicious, promptly leaving back to your spot on the march

>Roksilds fighters are okay
>Your Caravan is feeling somewhat insecure
>The slaves are whispering among themselves
>You are now the Old man
You walk just as usual, your Disciple sitting on the cart with not much else to do.
You can see out of your eye, a fighter from Roksild's caravan talking brashly and brazen, boasting about how he once took 3 dredge at once, getting cheers from his compatriots and pats on his back
You remember your self that you took around 5 dredge by yourself about a week ago, Your ego going up a little
Harold overhears the conversation and laughs a little from behind you
>1."Leave them be, who cares what they say"
>2."I think we should prove them who's best"
>>171536
Hm to start something or leave it. If we prove our strength it would keep them fighting us less likely. Maybe they would even respect our strength.
Perhaps a friendly match to break up tension.

"I think we should prove them who's best" You say to Harold as you pat him on the back, heading towards the fighters. Harold follows with nothing else to do,
At first the fighters look at you weirdly, somewhat expecting for you to start complaining about something.
"Only 3 dredge?" You say "Didn't we took 10 of them only you and me Harold?" you ask Harold in a joking manner
"Yes we did friend! And If I recall correctly, you didn't even have to rest?" Harold answers catching the joke and throwing it back, the fighters look at you in a incredulous manner
"Prove it!" One of the fighters says, the one that claimed the acts of heroism from before, pulling the cloth from his arm and showing pure muscle
two one sided rounds of arm wrestling and an answer is taken definite, the fighters laugh at the man and kick him away, but nobody is particularly cheering you.
>"Anyone else up to the challenge?"
>Step up an leave, you've proven your point
>Stay with the fighters for a little while
>"Didn't you have a Varl with you? Me and Harold against him"
>>172927

Well we're here may as well have fun.

"Anyone else up to the challenge?" You ask, taunting the other men
The fighters look at you for a while, what was at first them just laughing at someone in particular was now a challenge to the group as a whole.
One by one, each of the fighters starts arm wrestling with you, and with extreme ease you dispatch them. The cheering had stopped for a while now and everyone was just looking at a complete stranger make quick work of them. You leave once you reach the fifteen win mark, Harold had left already when you reached the fifth.
You go back to your caravan and see none of them smiling trough the rest of the day, bunch of pansies if anybody asked you
>14th day

>Morale is slightly low
>Roksilds fighters kinda hate the Old man in particular
>Your Caravan is feeling somewhat insecure
>The slaves are Talking among themselves
>You are now the Disciple
Not much is happening today, according to your map, you'll be reaching a small village tomorrow, from there you'll review your options for travel
The slaves are more confident than before, talking amongst themselves like normal people, but they still give looks to everyone else, almost like if they were plotting something
>Rest for the day
>Ask Old man to go hunting (3 left)
>Investigate the slaves
>Keep marching until you reach the village
>Specify
>>173765
Moral is lowering and need to gain some trust I think.
So try talking to the people in back and warm up. See if any of them would like to take part in hunting with the old man. Maybe they will open up after a group activity.
>>173765
>Rest for the day
You head to the back of the caravan, encountering the slaves once more, this time they don't ignore you. the men and women look at you for a while, none of their faces look welcoming
"We were wondering if you would like to join us on hunting, you mostly keep everything for yourself, so it would be nice to have a group activity once in a while"
the slaves start talking among themselves, consulting on the woman you might think is their leader, the blonde girl alongside her.
after a while two or three men raise their hands and approach you, it isn't until they're close to you that they definitely aren't slaves, the three of them are well groomed, and they remain in a good condition. You lead the way and reach the old man, after some explaining (And some bickering from his side) he agrees to take them on a hunting trip
"They probably gonna end up harvesting berries or some stupid thing, hunting my ass" The Old man scoffs as he takes the slaves, and treats them like so, insulting them and ordering them to move
some hours later and the Old man catches up to the caravan with a slab of deer meat on his shoulder and the slaves with bags full of berries and fruit. The old man insulting and berating the slaves, quite typical of him really

>You are now the Old man
You see the village in front of you, simple wood houses being covered in snow, and plenty of people going about their jobs like nothing has happened
There is a tent set up by Roksild's fighters, one of those tents where people go train to keep their senses sharp, you and Harold could go visit it
a Merchant sits on his cart, selling supplies
Your Disciple took the day off to rest, you don't really know were she went, the slaves are nowhere to be seen
You asses your options
>buy some supplies (2 renown get you 1 day worth of supplies)
>Go to Roksild's tent and upgrade your combat techniques (7 renown to level up in combat either Harold or Old man)
>Rest (Morale goes higher)
>Go look for someone (Specify)
>Leave nowif you're wondering, yes combat is going to be existent in this quest, so leveling them up actually does something
>>174808
Gonna vote for leveling up. Getting our fighters stronger will go a long way. We have 10 so I will back the old man.
Then we could see what our groups want to do.
>>174880
This, let our disciple buy supplies
>>174880
>>174895
You head to the training tent by yourself, getting some looks from the fighters but ignoring them completely.
>SKILL OBTAINED
>Set prey: once a battle, you can command everyone fighting to attack an enemy in specific
>3 renown left
after god knows how much you head outside the tent and sit on the snow, drenched in pure sweat
You can see your Disciple resting under the branches of a tree, Harold eating on a table with his family, the slaves nowhere to be found still, and Roksild talking with a young man and another Varl
>buy some supplies (2 renown get you 1 day worth of supplies)
>Rest (Morale goes higher)
>Go look for someone (Specify)
>Leave now

>buy some supplies (2 renown get you 1 day worth of supplies)
The others can rest

"Hey! Girl!" You shout at you Disciple, her head turning towards you, looking at you with drowsy eyes "Go a fetch some supplies from the merchant will ya?"
She gets up lazily from the tree and heads towards the cart in that jog of hers
2 hours later and she comes back with a small cart of food, enough to feed everyone for about a day
>10 days of supplies left
"Anything else?" She says in that deadpan tone of hers
>"No, we leave now"
>"you've seen anything around?"
>"let's call it a day, I'm spent"
>>175692
>"you've seen anything around?"
Maybe we can find some job to do and stock up on things.
Probably say something to the town's leader about the coming dredge as well.
>>175692
>"you've seen anything around?"
>>175996
>>176021
"You've seen anything around?" You ask your Disciple "Maybe the town leader asking questions or something?"
"No, everyone is doing their own business, I just want to rest" Your disciple says as she closes her eyes on the tree stump "This trip has been harder than I thought" She says, her voice cracking "And now we're leaders and this whole thing is blowing out of proportions"
"You were the one that invited those idiots" You retort to here "Not my fault it's finally eating up to you"
"I know, I just thought...maybe they could take the lead? then it would be just the two of us again" her eyes opening just to stare into the horizon "You wanna know something?"
"Yes?"
"I was hoping that we were going to be traveling alone, living like we always did...but now everything has changed, now you gotta answer to everyone, Now I have to answer for everyone ...what if we screw up, we aren't people who should lead them! we're just..." She stays silent for a while, pondering what words to use
"Outcasts?" You help her finish the words
She doesn't answer, just sitting in the tree stump for a while
>"....10 more minutes and then we leave"
>"...Time to turn a new page girl, We'll leave when you're ready"
>Sit alongside her and rest a little yourself
>>176395
>>"...Time to turn a new page girl, We'll leave when you're ready"
Change isn't all bad, just a pain.
>>176395
>Sit alongside her and rest a little yourself
"....time to turn a new page girl, We'll leave when you're ready" you say to your disciple as you walk towards the caravan once again, you wait for about an hour and you see her again, with that same cold stare of hers, like your conversation never had happened.
"We're gonna reach a divergent point in some days from now, we need to choose were to go after that" she informs you as she shouts at the men behind you "Everyone! move!"
>16th day

>You are now Roksild
"Where the hell are the supplies?!" You shout at the fighters that were nearer to the food "Where the hell are the goddamn slaves?!"
"They dissapeared when we were at the village! I don't know where they could be!" the feeble human says as he shakes from your voice
you toss him to the mud, it wasnt the fact that they stole supplies from the caravan! It was the fact that they stole YOUR supplies!
"What do we do Roksild?" Erik says as he looks at you with his stone eyes of his
>"We chase them, take back our things"
>"....DAMN IT,...We keep moving"
>>179207
>"We chase them, take back our things"
>>179207
>>"....DAMN IT,...We keep moving"
Well shit. I think we should keep moving my self. Those desperate people may do more damage if we go after them. We can try hunting if we need to.
>>180011
"We chase them! take back our things!" You shout at Erik with an imperative tone, taking your axe and shield from your cart and tossing Erik's bow and arrow towards him
"How many should we take with us?"
>"Just you and me, I don't want this leaking"
>"Bring some soldiers with us, they're smart, could set a trap"
>"Tell everyone of what happened, let anyone join us if they want"
>>180329Forgot to mention that the story could take a drastic turn after this, so choose wisely
>>180329
Hm telling everyone is a bad move and would drop moral I feel.
Just us feels possible, but risky.
>"Bring some soldiers with us, they're smart, could set a trap"
They don't like us, but it's their stuff as well.
>>180329
>"Just you and me, I don't want this leaking"
