Can we get Buyfag and DJT threads off of /a/?
https://www.4chan.org/rules#a
The rules for /a/ state that the board is only meant for anime and manga, meaning media involving Japanese animation and Japanese comics.
For those who are unfamiliar with what Buyfag and DJT stand for: Buyfag Threads are a place for people to show-off, learn and converse about figures from Japan. DJT stands for Daily Japanese Thread and is a place to learn and talk to others about the Japanese language and writing.
https://www.4chan.org/rules#jp
/jp/ - Otaku Culture would be the ideal place for these two topics. It even states that in the rules of /jp/ that "figures and other otaku paraphernalia" should be posted here.
Unless the rules of /a/ are clearly changed and stated to allow this, then these topics should be moved onto /jp/ since they are not directly related to anime and manga.
>>574272
No, it should stay on /a/ because it's secondary.
I don't want buyfag threads on /jp/ either.
Figures in the buyfag threads are generally of anime/manga characters anyway, so they are "directly related to anime and manga". Same goes for LN threads.
No, get out.
Could you do something about those week long cancerous Miuna Monday threads while you are at it?
Why is that trashy /c/ shit allowed?
>>574295
Then how do you explain the /jp/ rules that state figures should be placed on that board? Why state that when it isn't being enforced?
Should DJT threads be allowed on /v/ or /vg/ as well as /a/? There are many users who play Japanese language video games, or those who wish to do so. Is that a valid reason for such a thread to exist?
>>574300
Hello, newfaggot. /a/ is for the discussion of manga and anime related topics. Anime characters fall into this categorization.
>Finally, as much as /a/ is a discussion board, /c/ is a board for sharing images.
X-Girl X-Day threads are a long standing staple of /a/ culture. They are not solely image sharing threads like /c/, but instead are to discuss the character and show once in a while after it has finished airing.
There are other websites with more rigid moderation to keep everything related to solely currently airing anime if that's what you're looking for. And you are free to visit them instead.
Have a nice day!
>>574295
>secondary
Good idea. Who needs boards for those things anyway? Now we just need to delete /jp/, /c/, /cm/, /w/, /m/, /cgl, /e/, /h/, /d/, /y/, and /u/.
What you're really failing to appreciate is that very few users actually care about consistency like you do.
>>574309
I wonder why so many people are dissatisfied with 4chan?
>>574303
>Then how do you explain the /jp/ rules that state figures should be placed on that board?
It says figures are allowed to be posted on the board. You can go make a buyfag thread there if you'd like.
>>574308
Most of those are image sharing boards, not discussion boards. Others are solely porn image sharing boards, not explicitly related to anime or manga. The only remotely close thing you have is /jp/, which is for otaku culture not anime related such as 2hu.
Content posted in buyfag threads is often anime related. If you want to ask that a janitor sit in buyfag threads and delete images of figures that aren't anime related, go ahead.
>>574309
This. This website isn't meant to be reddit.
>>574311
Probably because they're new. You don't have to post here if you don't like it.
>>574308
May as well remove all the video game boards that aren't /v/, too.
Delete /mlp/ and remove all the social and sex boards.
Surely this would solve all our troubles!
>>574313
It's actually the opposite.
Buyfag is more akin to otaku culture therefore it should move to /jp/. Anything else is blatant whining about trying to keep it in /a/ for the sake of being in /a/.
>>574314
>Who cares?
/a/ is meant for discussion. Those are not. Their purpose is separate. You can have a yuru yuri thread on /a/ because it is anime related discussion. The yuru yuri thread on /c/ is solely to share images.
>I wonder why long term users are unhappy?
Do you have any proofs of this claim?
>>574318
No, it isn't. See how easy it was to dismiss something you asserted with the same effort?
>>574320
Not an argument.
>>574272
Stop rocking the fucking boat
>>574318
>>>/a/143444884
This guy basically summed up why people aren't moving Buyfag and DJT threads over to /jp/.
It's either that or users are delusional. It shouldn't matter what these people say anyway since the rules clearly state that this kind of content is not suitable for /a/.
>>574322
>Not an argument.
Not him, but that is most certainly an argument. Whether it's legitimate is another question. Or does your name happen to be Stefan?
>>574311
A thousand reasons, but DJT and the buyfag thread are not one of them for the overwhelming majority of people.
>>574322
How is it not an argument? What is your YOUR argument for it staying on /a/?
I would love to hear what you have to say...
>>574327
An assertion that buying anime merchandise is more related to otaku culture than anime is not an argument. There is nothing to argue against. You can simply reply with a no.
>Or does your name happen to be Stefan?
Don't blow my cover, anon.
>>574334
People like it and most people don't care about strict consistency in the rules when they get a result that they like.
The act of buying isn't inherently a /jp/ or otaku notion. /v/ has occasional threads dedicated to discussing and sharing things they've purchased that relates to their board, would you say those threads should be held elsewhere and not be allowed on /v/ also? I've also seen such threads on /mu/ and even /u/, actually.
I think the /a/ buyfag threads should remain as they are, granted the items discussed are /a/ related purchases, and from what I've seen they seem to stick to that for the most part.
>>574334

>An assertion that buying anime merchandise is more related to otaku culture than anime is not an argument. There is nothing to argue against. You can simply reply with a no.
>What is your YOUR argument for it staying on /a/?
I don't need to argue for anything. You're the one who wants to enact a change in moderation and site structure. The onus is on you to convince others.
The fact is, however, that no one gives a shit about what you have to say. You can go to reddit if you want strict moderation. An imageboard is not meant for that.
>>574335
https://www.4chan.org/rules#jp
/jp/ - Otaku Culture
All images and discussion should pertain to light and visual novels, figures and other otaku paraphernalia, Touhou Project, Vocaloid, doujin works and music, and diverse niche Japanese interests (kigurumi, idols, mahjong, tea).
Then what is the point of saying it belongs on /jp/ if people keep shitting DJT and Buyfag on /a/?
>>574341
there isn't a point
you are slowly uncovering the secrets at the heart of 4chan
>>574334
Not every rule has to be enforced to perfection. Fuck off to reddit if you want that.
Buyfag has been on /a/ forever and will stay on /a/. You wanting change will create a similar outcome to the nipple mod fiasco and people will rebel against it for the sake of it. One anon sperging to move it isn't going to do shit, and shitposting the current fucking thread certainly isn't either so fuck off from there too.
>>574322
>not an argument
It is an argument. You just don't like it.
/a/ - Culture Before Common Sense

>saying it belongs on /jp/
It says all content on /jp/ should pertain to light and visual novels, figures and other otaku paraphernalia, Touhou Project, Vocaloid, doujin works and music, and diverse niche Japanese interests (kigurumi, idols, mahjong, tea).
It does not say this content cannot be posted on other boards.
>light and visual novels
Regular discussion about light and web novels have been on /a/ for years.
>doujin works
I refer you to one of the best threads on /a/: sadpanda thread.
>idols
Discussion of which happens on both /a/ and /vg/.
>visual novels
Type-moon related visual novels are discussed on /vg/ too.
>Then what is the point of saying it belongs on /jp/ if people keep shitting DJT and Buyfag on /a/?
The point is that this isn't reddit. Rules are not applied universally and decisively because boards have different cultures and develop differently. Go tell /jp/ that they can't have mobage threads. See if anyone cares.
>>574348
No, it is not. It is an opinion.
Buying anime related merchandise is more related to anime than otaku culture.
See? An opinion. An argument actually needs substance, not simply an assertion.
You're a faggot. That isn't an argument. It is an opinion most people you've met before share.
>>574349
It's just 3 vocal autists desperate to keep buyfag in /a/. It's probably the same faggots that complained about the buyfag guide being updated to a wiki.
>>574347
>>574340
Only the idiots on this site pull out the Reddit card.
It's obvious you can't clearly state a good enough reason as to why it shouldn't be removed from /a/ and placed onto /jp/.
The moderation on this site is a joke at times with actual content being deleted while porn threads are left for everyone to ogle at. Moderators are meant to do there jobs, if this was the case we wouldn't be talking right now.
People do care, it's just people like you that care about "muh made-up /a/ culture" are too hot-headed and spray your shit everywhere whenever someone brings these issues up.
>>574349
If you don't like it, you're welcome to not post on the board.
>>574353
Why would someone even complain about it being a wiki? That just blows my mind. Are there people who really don't want progress?
>>574272
Shut up. You've spent the last 3 hours or more crying on /a/. You could've spent those 3+ hours ignoring the solitary buyfag thread that happens once a day instead of campaigning against it for trivial reasons. Keep spouting "MUH TECHNICALITY" like it matters. Like 4chan should bend to your whim.
>>574353
Count the number of the IPs in the buyfag threads. That's how many people intend to keep it in /a/, since nothing would stop them from posting in /jp/ if they preferred to do so.
>People do care
Most people, on /a/ at least, prefer rule of culture to rule of law.
You can tell because the people who prefer rule of law have mostly gone elsewhere.
>>574353
I know. Most users of any board don't really care either way and would just go to another board to post what they want.
>>574352
All of your arguments are opinions. It doesn't change the fact that it belongs in /jp/. There will be no change if it moves, it's just you that desperately wants it in /a/
>>574354
>Moderators are meant to do their jobs
Apply for mod then faggot, buyfag threads aren't going anywhere. You make an excuse of us pulling the reddit card but you literally sound like you would love reddit with their nazi moderation. Seriously fuck off.
>>574353
No it's the reverse. It's 2-3 angry autists desperately trying to get buyfag out of /a/. The same faggots that complained to mommy and daddy throughout childhood until they got their way.
>>574354
>It's obvious you can't clearly state a good enough reason as to why it shouldn't be removed from /a/ and placed onto /jp/.
I don't need to argue for anything. You're the one who wants to enact a change in moderation and site structure. The onus is on you to convince others.
>The moderation on this site is a joke at times with actual content being deleted while porn threads are left for everyone to ogle at.
What actual content on /a/ is being deleted? Why does porn upset you?
>People do care
No one does. No one that matters anyway.
>Only the idiots on this site pull out the Reddit card.
Only redditors get upset about it, kid.
>>574359

Nice try.
>>574365
>Nice try.
Every user, right now, who wants to post about buying figures, can do so in /a/ or /jp/. They have CHOSEN to do so in /a/. Nobody made them do it.
>>574361
All of the people that regular the buyfag thread don't want to migrate to another board just because you say they should. Get over yourself.
>>574363
You're begging mommy and daddy to not enforce rules that have been in place for a long time.
>No mom, I don't like change!
>>574363
It's not the reverse. It's been the same 2-5 replies whenever someone posts about moving the thread with the same replies about mods saying it belongs on /a/ before.
>>574368
Mom and dad have already made their decision and it's pretty obvious what it is.
>>574369
Then fuck, mods say it's cool then it's cool you fucking autist.
>>574367
>all of the people
It's literally you and your friends.
>>574372
If you had any friends you could take them all to /jp/ with you and post about figures there.
>>574361
The posting content of different boards is not an opinion. I could link you to all of those things, if you'd like to be spoonfed. But you can just ctr+f on the boards mentioned and search for the keywords I gave.
>the fact that it belongs in /jp/
No such thing. The rule states that /jp/'s content should include figures. It does not exclude it from other boards.
>>574368
You're crying for mommy and daddy to start enforcing rules no one ever did because you want this website to be more like reddit.

Just like light novels, Fate, lolis, /pol/, and /vg/. The admin and mods have already made a decision. Deal with it.

Why should people migrate? Why are you so fucking keen on people migrating to different boards for stupid reasons?
I don't go on /a/, so you gotta explain why you want them gone.
>>574352
>idols
You're mistaken. Idols in the /jp/ sense is referring to 3dpd jpop shit. AKB48, Hello! Project, etc. Outside of VAs, that isn't discussed on /a/ or /vg/. Idols doesn't mean LL, Idol Master, Aikatsu on /jp/.
>>574371
Have you not read this thread? He wants nazi mods that keep the streets perfectly clean without a single "off topic" thread ever even if these so called mods post there. He'll then get offended when you tell him to go to reddit where he'll find those mods.

Ah, but anon, the rules say idols. We must enforce them in the most literal way possible and to the extreme! Logic says so!
Obviously, this should include seiyuus. Sure, they're anime related. But they're technically closer to otaku culture, wouldn't you agree?

>Nazi card

When did I say it was recent? Anyone who actually visits /jp/ knows it's a slow board.
I've never seen a board so unable to communicate with someone that isn't deeply entrenched into their own "culture" as them as /a/. If you ever dare to question their ways you at best get the answer that it's like this because it has ever been like this. At worst a smug anime girl.jpg + greentext.
They don't care about rules. Their mods don't care about the rules.
>>574407

I was in that thread. I told you to fuck off because you were trying to shovel shit down /jp/'s throat and commanded them to like the taste. So did everyone else.
>When did I say it was recent?
Slow is on the order of weeks. It's not slow the way that /po/ is slow. It's only ten times slower than /a/ itself.
>>574390
>digging my hole deeper
Do you think this /qa/ thread will do anything? You seem new to the whole buyfag thread thing since you keep posting these 3d trash reaction images but i'll let you in on something, these so called beloved mods you want to enforce your rule post in the buyfag thread. It's generally well moderated and you'll notice more deleted posts than other /a/ threads. Not only that but /jp/ buyfag threads are typically for VN, doujin and porn goods, and if you've never been to /jp/ they'll tell you to fuck off.
The last thing is the majority of the buyfag thread doesn't fucking go to /jp/, and neither board treats crossboarders kindly, so why the fuck would the mods create drama for the sake of it for one crying faggot that doesn't even post in them when he can just shift click it like any non retarded mouthbreather would.
The go to reddit thing isn't a card I'm pulling, you'll find the mods you want there because nothing is changing here.

This whole thing is laughable. The buyfag threads on /a/ have been there longer than whoever it is who is kicking and screaming trying to move it.
>>574463

It's common sense and actually part of the rules that it really shouldn't be on /a/. People just want anime and manga only on /a/ so shit doesn't go off topic.

Oh my god, are you crying about that too? Jesus, you can hide threads you know?
Do you realize how long we've had drawfag and buyfag threads? You would know this if you weren't new as fuck.
>>574455
Is that why you want /a/ to be like your favorite subreddit with nothing remotely peripheral to anime discussed?
>>574456
>The rules state anime and manga are to be posted
No, we don't "post" anime and manga. We discuss anime and manga related subjects.
>All images and resulting discussion should pertain to anime or manga.
Anime and manga merchandise pertains to anime and manga.
>>574459
Then go ask the rules to enforce themselves. See who wins.
>>574458
>goes around calling everyone againts him descriptive names only a frequent user would know
What the fuck are you even trying to say here?
>It's fairly obvious you don't browse anything other than 2 maybe 3 threads on /a/.
Yeah, no.
>Why do you keep insisting people have proof while you don't have a single screenshot of hiro allowing these threads?
Hiro? Hiro doesn't enforce the rules. Mods do. And mods have repeatedly said buyfag threads are allowed. They even post there.
>you can't even meme
Underaged and /v/.
>>574459
Again, ask the rules to enforce themselves. See how that goes.
>>574467
The only thing laughable is that you are defending something that clearly goes against the rules.
>>574468
>How is removing content I don't like on a board, despite its users and moderation stating otherwise, a safespace thing?
>>574463
>logic
That's rich comming from the guy in denial telling everyone it's not an argument and repeating the same replies back at the poster because he can't prove anything other than "I like it"
What threads SHOULDN'T be on /a/ but are allowed anyway?
>>574472
>>>574459 (You)
>Then go ask the rules to enforce themselves. See who wins.
Rules are meant to be enforced by moderators dumbass. If they can't do something that simple then they should be axed. That's the only reason they are here. Nothing else.
We all know the mods on 4chan are garbage. Why else would there be a thread like this?
>>574473
Why do you specifically care if the rule has technically been broken for the longest time making it the norm, when even the people who enforce the rules (the mods) have said they dont give a shit?
>>574472
>placebo filtering
Just fuck off. You're so assblasted you went to a second dead buyfag thread trying to start shit so they can come here. Kill yourself you've been proven time and time again you're wrong.
>>574475
>he doesn't like
Nice projection.
>>574475
>I am the only one who is for the removal of DJT and Buyfag
You clearly don't understand what "safespace" means anyway.
/a/ is a board for anime and manga discussion, and anything else is meant for /jp/. Nothing "safe-spacey" about it.
>>574480
The mods are utter crap here, you can't kid yourself.
Plus, we have people like you who will defend having content that shouldn't be on a board till kingdom come because of who knows why or "muh /a/ culture".
>>574479
>Why else would there be a thread like this?
Because one person decided to make this thread. One person, with the opinions of one person, that's all it takes.
>>574481
>You're so assblasted you went to a second dead buyfag thread trying to start shit so they can come here.
What the fuck are you talking about, you paranoid autistic faggot?
>y-you're wrong!
Am I? Because I still see the buyfag thread up and no one is going to do shit, you little bitch. Keep crying though, it's hilarious.
>>574479
>Rules are meant to be enforced by moderators dumbass.
There is no rule against posting anime related merchandise on /a/, so why would they delete it? Because you cried on /qa/?
>>574483
That's not projection unless you're implying that I don't like buyfag threads.
>>574484
>I am the only one who is for the removal of DJT and Buyfag
When did I say that? All I said was users on /a/ and /jp/ disagree with you, along with the mods.
>/a/ is a board for anime and manga discussion
Yeah, I know. That's why we discuss our anime and manga related merchandise.
>>574487
You don't seem to like the mods here or /a/. There are plenty of other websites you can visit instead.
>>574483
It's funny cause I like the buyfag threads and will be using DJT threads once I start learning Japanese, but there is no real reason as to why it's on /a/.
I use /jp/, too. So there isn't a real bias or issue for me at least. Like I have stated, it is common sense and clearly labeled in the rules for both /a/ and /jp/ as to what is allowed or not.
>>574486
>Plus, we have people like you who will defend having content that shouldn't be on a board till kingdom come because of who knows why or "muh /a/ culture".
Maybe because the buyfag threads have always been there on /a/ and nobody has had a problem with that until you came along.
The real problem with /a/ is that it's starting to look more like /ag/ with all the constant threads about series that stopped getting content a while ago. Please make Anime Generals a thing to get rid of this cancer.
There are people RIGHT NOW who think threads like
>>>/a/143442871
>>>/a/143442773
should stay on /a/.
Real quality, gents!
>>574488
I do too. And you were the crying little boy replying to hour posts baiting people to com here. Dead doesn't always mean pruned, you should know that since you're so insistent on bending rules.
>>574322
>/a/ is meant for discussion
Most of the threads on /a/ are pseudo image-dumps with the 肉じゃが being meme one-liners, the same old retarded circlejerk for the nth time, etc.
If mods did their jobs, maybe 4chan wouldn't be such an overwhelming arc for two of every kind of normalfag and their protected safe space to protect them from the flud of humanity that polite society rallies against to hide at all fucking costs.
/a/ is meant for discussion but by now it's like trying to scream gale force wind that is the same images and words reposted in a mindless and almost frantic fashion. Unleashing the Robot (but not telling anyone- just have posts go through and provide a post success message but without ever appearing) on /a/ for a 24 hour period would bring the board to a crawling halt of confusion.
>>574324
4chan would have never been able to become a successful site with that insipid attitude. 4chan become a great online space specifically because we weren't interested in the fucking boat. We came here fucking swimming and we loved diving about the crashing waves.
Fuck your boat.
>>574375
>The admin and mods have already made a decision. Deal with it.
How hypocritical. /a/utists are the first to completely flip their shit and rage the moment a mod does something they disagree with, even more so when the mod takes action upon a general thread. The only reason why those threads exist on /a/ is because the manchildren kept spamming the threads after mods initially started deleting them as they started becoming a more cyclic thing. Mods gave up and now ignore them, letting them fester like an open wound which acts like a gateway to the body of the greater board, giving save haven for free radicals that have no interest in the health of the board and prefer to colonise their safe space, their gaping wound.
Let's ignore the fact that they have been on /a/ for years. So the main reason the threads belong on /a/ is because a majority of purchases that are discussed and posted are figurines which are 99% anime related, which indcidentally differs from the corresponding threads on /jp/?
>>574490
I don't either. /jp/ is comfty and some threads are in the buyfag wiki yet this guy keeps insisting it belongs on /a/. Its been a slow thread this year with less than 70 ips sometimes. A couple of times the past few months I've seen the thread go up with 40 and less ips with unrelated anime posts until it died. It was just the same questions posted over and over again for the sake of bumping. There would be no literal change to moving it to /jp/ since its a naturally slow thread.
>>574403
>Did you know you can buy anime/manga related shit and post it on /a/?
Did you know that if you did this outside of the Buyfag general, 9 out of 10 anons with aggressively shitpost in the thread as to signal to everyone else their dissatisfaction with someone paying for their entertainment value?
The only time these things are acceptable outside of the Buyfag general is if the purpose of the thread is for uploading or dumping rips/scans of something that other anons have been waiting for but felt offended at the thought of having to pay money for it. When it comes to anything not specifically manga or anime, these paraphernalia threads outside of the Buyfag general, generally either die unnoticed or attract mainly highly negative feedback.
>>574501
>thinking I'm reading your autistic rant about /a/ bothering you
>4chan become a great online space specifically because we weren't interested in the fucking boat. We came here fucking swimming and we loved diving about the crashing waves.
This is the gayest shit I've read all day. I hope you're embarrassed.
>>574500
>baiting people to come here
Officially no fucking clue what you're crying about. As far as I could see, some faggot was whining about buyfag threads and his posts were rightfully deleted for being off-topic. He then made a thread here, and we laughed at him.
>>574470
Sure it does. Because it's been there so long, clearly nobody gives a shit except you. I bet that 98% of the people on /a/ right now minding their own business posting and lurking other threads don't give a flying fuck about the buyfag threads. The other 2% probably don't like it, but they aren't fighting a war against it. You're an outlier.
>>574502
I think if there was a dedicated buyfag thread for /jp/, it would encompass not just standard buyf/a/g merch, but also anything and everything that is sold in japan. And that's not what the threads we're currently discussing are about, so moving them there just doesn't make sense to me as an idea.
It wouldn't be "relocation" it'd be a "death sentence," so to speak.
>>574502
Nothing says Otaku more than anime figure collecting, and /jp/ is known as /jp/ - Otaku Culture.
DJT makes even more sense of being placed on /jp/ since they have no correlation to anime or manga whatsoever.
Shit like
>>>/a/143444940
>>>/a/143436867
>>>/a/143443822
>>>/a/143432643

>>>/a/143435449
>>>/a/143439697
>>>/a/143390689
>>>/a/143451376
that have a thread constantly up that is nothing but circlejerking instead of actual discussion need to be banned or at least get their own board. These are just some examples I probably missed quite a few threads in the catalog
>>574502
Yes.
/jp/ has its own buyfag threads. They discuss onaholes and other japanese products. If you post anime figures there, they tell you to fuck off to /a/.
>>574502
By that logic lets ignore the rules than have been in place for years.Lets ignore the fact currency discussion directly affecting buyfags gets deleted but blogging goes undeleted. Lets ignore the fact tripfags start turning it into their own personal twitter dumps until they finally left thanks to being told to fuck off by a few. Lets ignore the fact the past few months its been nothing but hentai figures with the occasional anime figure that everyone already has. Lets ignore the fact figure collecting is otaku related than anime discussion. Ignore the fact that there's no real anime or manga discussion other than one liners consisting of muh dick figure when season 2 3 or 4 when? Sure keep it in /a/ because its relevant. Highly moderated as well.
>>574506
>we
It's just you autismo.
>>574504
That's why generals exist dipshit. Buyfag is a merchandise general. Go on literally any other board and someone creating a thread relevant to a general, outside of the general and everyone will tell them to fuck off to the relevant general. You really are new to 4chan.
>>574502
>which are 99% anime related
And about 1% relevant to the actual anime or manga. They are every bit as relevant as anime or manga character/franchise t-shirts or mugs: entirely inconsequential. Nice, but they belong on /toy/ more than they belong on /a/. You don't see transformer robots or cartoon action hero toy threads on /co/, do you? They are the equivalent to character figures threads on /a/.
Does a 4chan pass count as a Japanese product
>>574517
He doesn't want it on /jp/.
>>574511
JoJo, Yu-Gi-Oh, GuP, Schwarzesmarken, Precure, and Key regularly get or have recently had anime and manga released. Unless you're just entirely against the idea of people discussing a topic solely in one thread, it doesn't make sense to remove them.
JoJo has a running manga and upcoming anime. Yu-Gi-Oh, I believe, has an upcoming anime and had one within the last two seasons. GuP just had a movie translated. Schwarz has BD releases and season 2 with a currently running Light Novel. Precure has currently airing anime. Key is having Rewrite airing this summer along with a Planetarian movie.
I can't speak to the rest because I don't know shit about them.
>>574519
It should, it directly helps hiro pay off his yakuza debt. Make a 4chan pass general on /a/.
>>574517
>Then why not have separate buyfag threads depending on the content posted?
We do. The one about anime figurines is on the anime board. The one about other otaku products not related to anime go on /jp/.
>It's not like /jp/ couldn't afford another thread. It's slow as shit there.
No reason to move there either. When the football manager general from /sp/ tried to move to /vg/, it didn't go well. Lots of shitposting by other /vg/ posters and little activity. They moved back to /sp/. Same with FIFA thread I believe.
>>574518
Yet people will delude themselves and bring up the dumbest excuses even with facts in there face.
You are right, no one would be allowed to make toy threads on /co/, but the chucklefucks of /a/ think it's perfectly fine even though they have an entire board for that named /jp/. Yet, they hate it cause it's out of their safespace zone or some bullshit.
Logic thrown out of the window. If only we had competent mods who enforced the rules that already exist.
>>574506
>This is the gayest shit I've read all day. I hope you're embarrassed.
Fuck those people who actually care about things. Nah, let's just fucking #YOLO and act like a complete cunt and bite the hand which feeds because it's cool and hip to act like a spoiled 15 year old. When you've got nothing to say at all, first step is to try and mock those who can and do. Doesn't work here, sunshine.
Get back on your boat and row to the safe harbour of the braindead lowest common denominator meme reaction face circlejerk. They won't respect your thoughts but they will give you pointless arbitrary gestures of gratitude for fitting in, in the form of thumbs, votes, likes, and retweets. Dullard manchild.
>>574523
>I can't disprove it so I'll just project
When did I say I hated the buyfag threads? I'm just proving the thread shouldn't be on /a/.
>>574524
>We do. The one about anime figurines is on the anime board. The one about other otaku products not related to anime go on /jp/.
According to the rules of both boards, that isn't how it should be. Figures should be only on /jp/, no matter what they are since it's the Otaku board. /a/ is solely for anime and manga media. Everything else that doesn't fit into this category is to be posted on /jp/, hence the name "Otaku Culture".
>>574520
This is basically the only reason why people don't want this rule enforced. Rules are rules, dudes.
>>574516
>That's why generals exist dipshit.
>Go on literally any other board and someone creating a thread relevant to a general, outside of the general and everyone will tell them to fuck off to the relevant general.
You've just described how a cancerous growth works as though this is the normal function of the metabolic system. I don't know when you came here but you really have no idea how this place came to be or what allowed it to be successful. 4chan wouldn't exist today if this chatroom segmentation mindset was present in 2003, 2004 or 2005.
>You really are new to 4chan.
Stop trying to puff up your body like an animal desperate to avoid confrontation.
>>574518
>And about 1% relevant to the actual anime or manga
>Material related to an anime isn't actually related because I don't like it.
>They are every bit as relevant as anime or manga character/franchise t-shirts or mugs
These can be posted in the buyfag thread too, and are. Sounds like you don't actually know what goes on in those threads.
>entirely inconsequential
A subject doesn't have to be consequential to belong on /a/. It has to be related to anime or manga.
>but they belong on /toy/
/toy/ is for toys, not statues and pillow covers.
>You don't see transformer robots or cartoon action hero toy threads on /co/, do you?
Because they're articulated toys, not statues. Gundam models have a /toy/ thread because they're articulated too.
>>574529
>Figures should be only on /jp/
That's not what the rules say. They say /jp/'s topics should be limited to a specified set including figures. But this rule isn't even applied. You can go there right now and see a mobage thread.
>/a/ is solely for anime and manga media
No, it's for discussing anime and manga related topics. This is why we have DJT and seiyuu threads.
>>574527
I have had to state this myself in this thread as well.
People just like to automatically think that if you are for moving the DJT and Buyfag threads that it automatically means you hate both of them.
Projection at its finest.
You just have to remember that these people aren't the brightest of the bunch, especially for missing the logic in all of this.
>>574526
>Get back on your boat and row to the safe harbour of the braindead lowest common denominator meme reaction face circlejerk. They won't respect your thoughts but they will give you pointless arbitrary gestures of gratitude for fitting in, in the form of thumbs, votes, likes, and retweets. Dullard manchild.
Seriously, man. This is fucking embarrassing. You're trying to sound deep about a website made for discussing anime culture. Reeks of a newfag trying really hard to fit in or some post-chanology faggot who wanted to wear a guy fawkes mask but arrived too late.
>>574533
>No, it's for discussing anime and manga related topics. This is why we have DJT and seiyuu threads.
Honestly, how is DJT even remotely related to anime or manga?
You can argue that figures could be, but a fucking language? Should we have DJT threads on /v/ as well, since a lot of games are only in Japanese?
>>574535
>can't defend himself
>starts calling everyone a newfag
>>574538
I think they're allowed because moot gave permission.
>>574533
>lying about what goes on in the buyfag thread
Here I'll sum it up: fake questions for bumping, one liners, reposting 2011 pictures, blogging, nothing but meme replies. Absolutely no anime or manga discussion at all. Anyone can feel free to look at the archive to see for themselves. Yes anime figures get posted. That's it.
>/toy/ isn't for scales and dakis
So it fits in /jp/! Problem solved.
>>574538
They translate anime and manga, trying to learn how to read Japanese via material that helps them consume untranslated anime and manga. People will post manga pages and ask what a particular kanji means in that context.
>Should we have DJT threads on /v/ as well, since a lot of games are only in Japanese?
Go ahead and make one dude, I don't care.
>>574542
Defend against what? I don't actually read what you're posting. I skim the first sentence and become inflicted with second hand embarrassment. You're garbling a psuedo-intellectual rant about a website made by a 16 year old SA forum weeb who liked 2ch's format. Go make a we r leejun video or something.
>>574534
He's genuinely retarded. He probably doesn't even frequent it daily.
>>574548
>second hand embarrasment
There you go again outing yourself as the only autist with his feelings hurt.
>>574548
But /v/ doesn't want it there. /a/ doesn't mind buyfag threads there. It's just you that seems to have a huge problem with it.
>>574552
>/a/ doesn't mind it there
>forgetting countless times people voiced their frustration towards the thread while the mod defends the thread despite knowing it doesn't belong there
There you go again speaking for an entire board.
>>574547
>Here I'll sum it up
>It was real in my mind.
Discussing anime and manga related figures is anime and manga related. In fact, the OP of the most active thread right now is a character from a manga and upcoming anime. The second figure posted is from an already aired anime and currently running LN. Then an original character figure, followed by two anime related figures, and a hentai one. After that, the thread becomes a shitposting fest about buyfag threads belonging on /a/ or /jp/.
>So it fits in /jp/! Problem solved.
/jp/ isn't for anime and manga related merchandise.
>>574552
I don't mind it either. If /v/ minds it, then that's why they don't have DJT there.
>>574551
>autist
I'm not the one ranting about DIVING INTO THE WAVES like a sperg, man.
>>574550
>genuinely retarded
coming from you that means absolutely nothing
keep throwing out insults at everyone who comes at you with plenty of valid reasons why buyfag has been, is, and will continue to be on /a/ even after your little shitfit here tonight. surely that'll get you what you want
>>574554
Where are they discussing the latest chapter or episode of said anime? No where. All you're clinging to is a picture of an anime girl to excuse it on /a/.
Where does /g/s chink shit general belong?
>>574546
moot is fucking gone, his permission shouldn't matter anymore. He's a Google worker. If his voice mattered, it would be in the rules of /a/.
>>574548
DJT threads aren't really meant for spoonfeeding, it's more of a suggestion thread and for actual language learning. How that fits /a/ is beyond me. Sounds more like /jp/ material instead.
>>574558
>Where are they discussing the latest chapter or episode of said anime?
No, they're discussing anime and manga related merchandise. That's what the thread is for. Anime and manga merchandise is anime and manga related.
>All you're clinging to is a picture of an anime girl to excuse it on /a/.
All images and discussion on /a/ should pertain to anime and manga. Images and discussion of anime merchandise pertain to anime and manga.
>>574560
>it's more of a suggestion thread and for actual language learning
Using manga and anime material regularly, and it's been allowed by the mods for years.
>>574553
Just what exactly are you doing? You're either speaking for /a/ (on behalf of people who clearly disagree with you) or you're putting precedence to an ambiguous rule over the consensus of /a/.
>>574545
So wanting to remove something to place it on another board clearly means I detest it?
How is this even a sane response? It's common sense why it shouldn't be on /a/. I do like Buyfag threads, so I must be a total exception to your backwards thought process.
I just hate threads like that because they advertise to people that if you spam something enough, you can have a permanent space on a board
>>574564
It's common sense why it should remain on /a/ though. Your interpretation means nothing. Goodluck out there in the world my special little snowflake!
>>574562
>discussing merchandise
>it's only really active when people want tips about detolf lighting
>anime and manga related
>/v/ /e/ /h/ and /co/ gets posted there just as much if not more combined than /a/ related things
Why do you insist on lying?
>>574437
>Shitting on /pol/
Oh boy you're really mad
>>574565
Spam? There's one thread every day and a half. It's relevant to the board it's contained on, why shouldn't it have a space?
>>574566
>common sense
>can't prove a single thing
>numerous posters prove otherwise
>yeah well you just don't get it
How mad are you?
>>574569
Because it fits /jp/ as per rules state.
>>574554
They are still figures, and figures are meant to be on /jp/ whether they are anime and manga related or not.
The stuff posted in Buyfag threads are sometimes not related to anime or manga at all, but they allow it because it's a Buyfag thread. If it was moved to /jp/ non of this would matter.
>>574566
Calling me a snowflake won't change logical reasoning or the truth of what the rules state.
It is not common sense as to why it should stay on /a/ when we have a board named /jp/ - Otaku Culture that states in its rules that figures are to be posted there.
>>574570
I'm not made because numerous posters have proven why it should stay. You're being listened to and your arguments are being countered. You seem to be vaguely scanning responses as opposed to truly listening to and reading them. Your persistent name calling and use of "ur projecting" "u mad bro?" and generalizing what goes on on boards in your perspective is a testament to just how weak your argument is.
>>574575
>something is meant to be on /jp/ whether it is anime and manga related or not
Wrong.
Idol and Jap actress discussion belongs on /jp/, but we can have seiyuus, who can be both, threads on /a/. /jp/ rules also doesn't include japanese mobile games, but they have threads there anyway.
Here's some more for you: there's a gunpla general on both /m/ and /toy/. There's a FIFA and Football Manager general on /sp/, not /vg/. There's a Type-Moon general on /vg/ despite visual novels belonging on /jp/. And there's an osu thread every Friday on /a/, while /jp/ has regular rhythm music threads as well as /vg/.
>>574573
>/jp/ isn't for anime and manga related merchandise.
I think this is the kind of spam he means.
"If it is posted enough, it's gotta be true and allowed!"
You just are afraid of losing something that honestly should be on /jp/ to begin with.
>>574578
He also conveniently forgets the numerous times non /a/ merchandise was allowed like that mass effect figure, tharja, and a bunch of other /v/ figures simply because they're japan related. It really belongs in /jp/
>>574584
It's because these kind of people can't find a good enough reason as to why it should stay on /a/ besides saying the same comment over and over.
Just read the entire thread, it's the same defense repeated.
>>574584
>thread has existed for years on /a/ uninterrupted and approved by moderation.
>It's only been you!
>proved how it's relevant
Anime and manga merchandise relate to anime and manga. /a/ is for the discussion of anime and manga related topics. Because anime and manga merchandise are related to anime and manga, it's discussion is an anime and manga related topic.
>>574586
We don't have to find a good reason for nothing to change. You have to convince others that there should be action taken. You've done a poor job.
>>574584
>It's only been you
You're saying there's 25 people against it staying on /a/ here in this thread, and only one arguing otherwise? While calling someone delusional, you would say that? Incredible.
>>574582
>what are /jp/ doll threads that belong in buyfag
>excluding anime dolls but including non /a/ figures and merchandise in a supposed /a/ thread
>>574585
If you have an issue that some non-anime and manga related posts, report them.
>>574586
I made a post that was not repeated by others that your "anti buyf/a/g" camp didn't respond to. Ignored it straight out because you guys just somehow can't handle reason.
You fags have been arguing for too long, it belongs on /a/ because its about buying anime products, it fits and works
if it was a general for buying unrelated products I would say fair enough
but it isnt
>>574582
Then why have the name Otaku?
/jp/ was made so anything that isn't Japanese animation or manga media will be placed on /jp/.
That's it. Nothing you say can deter that fact. It is more suitable for figures to be placed on /jp/ so /a/ can stay as a media board. Like the one anon that posted in this thread stated, you don't see comic book toys and action figures posted in /co/, because it's not media related at all.
Even if the figures are manga and anime related, they are not directly manga and anime media, and are not to be posted on /a/. It's simple.
>>574585
Just watch some idiot claim it's fine because some anime producer designed it, so it makes it /a/ material.
>>574591
>including non /a/ figures and merchandise in a supposed /a/ thread
If you see a post that isn't related to anime or manga, report it and the moderation team will do its best to respond in time.
>>574591
>>574585
Then again, if you move the buyfag thread to /jp/, how would other /v/ figures be /jp/ related? Do you suggest we have a thread on /a/ for anime merchandise, /jp/ for japanese merchandise, and /v/ for videogame merchandise?
>>574597
>Then why have the name Otaku?
I'm guessing you don't knwo what otaku means. Protip: it doesn't mean a buyfag.
>/jp/ was made so anything that isn't Japanese animation or manga media will be placed on /jp/.
No, it wasn't. It was made so 2hu posting on /a/ would stop. You're new as fuck.
/a/ has seiyuu, LN, WN, osu, and other anime/manga related but not about anime/manda media threads all the time.
>Even if the figures are manga and anime related, they are not directly manga and anime media
They don't have to be. The board is for the discussion of anime and manga related topics. Merchandise from anime and manga is a related topic.
>>574595
But it is a general for buying unrelated products: onaholes, dolls, furniture to store said products in and more. Its more of a blanket thread for anything related to japan, which is right up /jp/s alley.
>>574600
>other /v/ figures
>forgets 2hu
>mentions 2hu
>osu
They'll be fine, especially since it'll be contained to one thread. You're acting like they'll be making threads for specific boards. It'll be the same thing.
>>574597
>Then why have the name Otaku?
Because it's something moot thought up arbitrarily, instead of naming the board "Visual Novels and Doujin Games."
>It is more suitable for figures to be placed on /jp/ so /a/ can stay as a media board.
You can place them in both.
>>574602
>But it is a general for buying unrelated products: onaholes, dolls, furniture to store said products in and more.
>onaholes
Onahole buyfag threads are on /jp/, not /a/. Stop lying through your teeth.
>dolls
You mean like the Flying Witch one posted in the current thread? Anime related.
>furniture to store said products
The same way any thread on /vg/ will discuss peripherals related to their game, a thread about anime and manga related merchandise will discuss storing said merchandise.
How is Ikea furniture /jp/ related?
>>574603
>forgets 2hu
So Mass Effect is /jp/ related because of 2hu? Are you fucking retarded?
>osu
OSU doesn't have figures. Again, how would other /v/ figures be /jp/ related? Do you suggest we have a thread on /a/ for anime merchandise, /jp/ for japanese merchandise, and /v/ for videogame merchandise so that everything can be neat and orderly for your autistic sensibilities?
>>574600
>Buyfags aren't Otaku
You got a good laugh out of me, my friend.
>No, it wasn't. It was made so 2hu posting on /a/ would stop. You're new as fuck.
Yeah, something that isn't either manga or anime media was moved to another board. How shocking! I guess that should pertain to figures too?
Maybe I missed out on some special figures that have either secret scrolls of manga hidden in them or maybe a little projector that pops out of their heads that allows me to watch a small clip of anime. How dense of me, I guess I forgot this feature! I guess figures are totally manga and anime now!
>>574605
>forgets the onahole section in the guide
>onaholes posted with no deletion
>getting flying witch from dolls
>previous thread had an entire discussion about sex dolls and some dolfies thrown in
>related
>other boards do it to so?
Then why can't the thread move to /jp/?
DJT Is worthy to stay on /a/ as well, learning whats being said insted of having to read improves entertainment of the show
>>574607
It can. It doesn't, though.
>>574606
Watch him claim some nendoroids are "bundled" with blurays therefore its relevant. Nigger the toy is sold with a free bluray thrown in.
>>574604
>You can place them in both.
There it is, the crux of it.
Arguing that anime and manga related merchandise is not fitting to be discussed on an anime and manga image board is absolutely fucking retarded. I hope OP kills himself.
>>574604
>still bringing up moot
He doesn't matter anymore. Besides, the board really is a place for "otaku" or something resembling it. You aren't going to get normalfags browsing /jp/ anytime soon.
>You can place them in both.
...but why? We have an entire board for Otaku culture but we instead post the figures on a media board? Makes no logical sense.
>>574612
But it's not all anime and manga related. It's whatever falls into japanese related. Anything western gets deleted.
>>574612
Media board: Hey let's just forget that and post figures and learn a language!
>>574613
>a media board
Where are you getting this from, show me. Where is this stated?
>>574613
>still bringing up moot
Well, you asked.
>You aren't going to get normalfags browsing /jp/ anytime soon.
Don't tell anyone, but /jp/ is more normal than /a/. It's a hobby board.
>...but why?
Because the mods have decided that a thread primarily about anime and manga figures could go either in the Anime & Manga board, or the Otaku Culture board.
>>574611
Never even thought of that, I guess this is the death of me?
You guys totally won, have fun with your bundled blurays, your figures who spit out pages of manga, and your stuffed waifus with small little screens built in their vajays.
>>574606
>buyfags aren't otaku
That's not what I said. I suggest you reread my post. Otaku doesn't mean buyfag.
>I guess that should pertain to figures too?
Anime and manga merchandise pertains to anime and manga, so why would it?
>Maybe I missed out on some special figures that have either secret scrolls of manga hidden in them
You know, what's hilarious is that you're so fucking ignorant about the topic that you don't realize this is true. Certain merchandise discussed in the threads: collector's edition VN releases, blu-rays, CD's, etc come with additional content bundled in like an OVA, extra episodes, a short manga, or audio drama CD about the anime/manga.
>>574607
You mean pic related? The thing that specifically mentions its from /jp/ and belongs on /jp/.
>getting flying witch from dolls
There is a flying witch doll coming out, anon.
>Then why can't the thread move to /jp/?
Why should it? It's been on /a/ for years, it's anime and manga related, and the mods approve of it.
>>574616
>media board
Is this something from your favorite forum? /a/ is for anime and manga related topics. It is not a "media board."
>>574620
Forgot the image.
>>574609
Then get a fucking tutor instead of having someone spoonfeed what a bubble on a page says.
>Autist insist rules don't have to be followed because he likes things the way they are on /a/
>insists on his strict definition of threads that only belong on /jp/
>>574624
No one understands a thing you're saying.
>>574620
Keyword certain. You're conveniently leaving out the unrelated things in that thread. There's certainly things being sold that are directly related to anime & manga but those items aren't always posted in that thread.
>>574624
>autist insists on his strict definition of rules
>autist shitflings about it forever until he slips off his soapbox and breaks his little chicken arms
>>574627
>leaving out the unrelated things in that thread
Anime and manga merchandise are related to anime and manga.
If you mean figures of things that are only from videogames, report them as off-topic or send the moderation team a note in /feedback/ that you think those types of merchandise shouldn't be allowed in the buyfag threads.
>>574617
Am I on bizzaro Earth, or does Anime and Manga mean something else besides media now?
The rules of /a/ generally state that it is a media board, with rules stating that spoilers are encouraged and that bans can happen if series are spoiled. Visual Novels, which are basically media, aren't even allowed. This goes to show you how strict the rules are in regards to Anime and Manga media.
The rules ONLY want Anime and Manga media. If you can't understand this easily, I suggest you go to the DJT threads and learn some English.
>>574631
>generally state that it is a media board
If you have to put the word "generally" in a sentence to make it true it's not true.
>>574272
I think we can all agree op is a fag
>>574631
Remember when it was Animu and Mango and it was against the rules to speak of anything that wasn't animu media or mango media? It doesn't work that way, bucko. Show me where it's stated that it's a board only for directly discussing "media."
>>574631
>All images and resulting discussion should pertain to anime or manga.
That's all it says. You can keep reaching, but no one is taking you seriously when you lie like that.
>Visual Novels, which are basically media, aren't even allowed.
That's because VNs aren't related to anime or manga, it has nothing to do with "media." Guess what is related to anime and manga? Merchandise from said anime and manga.
>The rules ONLY want Anime and Manga media
>All images and resulting discussion should pertain to anime or manga.
Why do you keep adding words to the rules that don't exist?
I have an off-topic but slightly related question: Is there a limit to how many generals we can have? If not, how do we fix the issue of more constant threads accumulating? Maybe it won't have a apparent impact in years. Maybe the threads will eventually die off or get replaced and we'll never reach that point.
I do however think that we need to be clear on rules when actual anime and manga discussion dies off quicker as a result of chatroom-esque threads being allowed for flimsy reasons such as "a manga chapter was released 2 weeks ago" and "it has an ln".
>>574630
But why should those posts be deleted and banned when they're relevant to the thread? They're not the ones in question, the question is why is a Japanese paraphernalia thread on /a/ and not /jp/ in which it is covered in?
>>574639
That's like saying that a thread about OPs should be banned from /a/ if somebody posts the opening to Powerpuff Girls, rather than the Powerpuff Girls post being deleted.
/a/ threads are so tremendously busy on /qa/- it's really remarkable.
>>574636
>A VN the currently airing anime or ongoing manga is based off of isn't relevant
>A toy is
>>574637
Imageboard moderation isn't supposed to be steadfast in rules. The rules are guidelines for encouraging a healthy board.
>>574639
Why should a thread about anime and manga merchandise be on /jp/ when /jp/ is explicitly not for anime and manga related subjects? What do you suggest the moderation team does about western /v/ figures in a buyfag thread on /jp/? Do discussions about anime blurays and manga artist artbooks suddenly not belong on a board for the discussion of anime and manga related topics?
>>574642
No one said anything like that.
There is a Key thread up right now because of Rewrite and associated anime that have already released.
A thread about the Kufwafter VN isn't allowed, however.
Try again.
>>574639
>Japanese paraphernalia thread
That's not what buyf/a/g threads are, though. They're anime and manga, and anime and manga paraphernalia based. Anime and manga just happen to originate from japan, the buying isn't about it coming from that country specifically.
>>574636
>There is no such thing as a VN that is also a manga or anime.
Wow, I never thought of that. I guess Oreimo or Overlord doesn't exist.
>>574632
>>574634
>>574636
Should I go to /tv/ and post some epic figures of LOTR characters? Or maybe venture off to /co/ and show off some sick Batman toys? OR MAYBE even go to /a/ and show off my sweet dakimakura of Rei?
^One of these is not like the other, why is that???
>>574645
>no one said anything like that
Yes they did, read a few posts above you.
>>574637
Generals will slowly take over the site.
It is already happening thanks to lack of moderation and care.
This kind of thread wouldn't even be happening if the mods took the rules seriously.
>>574636
Fate/Stay Night (the visual novel) is discussed regularly on /a/. You have tons of people saying stuff like "read the VN first" in regards to how to get into the Nasuverse.
>>574647
>One of these is not like the other, why is that???
If you felt compelled to make a thread about your Batman statue, it would probably go on /co/, as it has no other board to go on. /toy/ only does figures if they're articulated.
>>574647
>Should I go to /tv/ and post some epic figures of LOTR characters? Or maybe venture off to /co/ and show off some sick Batman toys?
Yes, you can do these things, and they do happen. Not to the extent that they do on /a/, but they do happen. I've seen it, you might not have as you don't actually browse 4chan, but if it's not off topic, people can and will discuss purchases on multiple 4chan boards.
>>574646
That isn't totally true motherfucker. Most buyfag threads always have content that isn't manga or anime at all.
>>574646
They are not, they may have started that way but they are most certainly not that now. If that were true there would be heavier moderation in that thread. If what you say is true there sure as hell shouldn't be video game figures posted. They're allowed in that thread because its a japanese oriented thread, not just on anime and manga.
>>574647
>Oreimo
>originally a VN
Stop.
You can talk about VNs that have anime. There's a Key thread up right now.
>Should I go to /tv/ and post some epic figures of LOTR characters?
Toys are not for statues. They are for articulated toys. /jp/ is not for western products. /a/ is for anime and manga related subjects. LOTR does not have an anime or manga.
Sounds like /tv/ is the place.
>Or maybe venture off to /co/ and show off some sick Batman toys?
/toy/ is for articulated toys, so you should go there. If it's a figure, you'd probably need to go on /co/. In fact, I think /co/ used to have a thread about comic book statues but it may have died over the years. I stopped posting there when Avatar aired.
>OR MAYBE even go to /a/ and show off my sweet dakimakura of Rei?
That'd be fine. We have thread for anime and manga related merchandise.
>>574650
And?
>>574653
Report the posts in question and our mods will get right on it.
>>574653
And oftentimes posters that post non anime and manga related merch get told to fuck off or are outright ignored. What is your point?
>>574647
The mods rarely if ever delete VNs that were spun off anime, although they will occasionally delete threads for VNs which were an original creation.
Overlord doesn't have a VN. You are really just pulling this shit out of your ass.
>>574655
How are Mass Effect figures japanese oriented? None of you have responded to my question yet, I wonder why.
>>574656
>and our mods will get right on it
Unless you're about to reveal yourself as the dedicated mod to that thread where is your source they'll get on it? Things thay dont belong do not get deleted and when you do report it you get a false report because samus and mass effect toys are /a/ related
>>574652
Except buyfag threads have been encouraged by moderators while the rules of both /a/ and /jp/ state otherwise, causing confusion.
This wouldn't even be happening if all buying was allowed on /toy/, but they are huffy about anything statue-like. So /jp/ is the only option.
...but the mods fuck it up for everyone. I guess they are above the rules. Great.
>>574657
No they're not. Stop lying. The only time someone gets told to fuck off is if they post POPs which are not articulated and are on /toy/
>>574663
>causing confusion.
There is not a single person who has been confused by this, except for you.
>I guess they are above the rules. Great.
This has always been the case.
>>574655
>its a japanese oriented thread
You could only state this if there was constant accepted posting of japanese related goods just for the sake of it being japanese. You don't see people in those threads posting their imported tatami mats, katanas and kawasakis.
>>574660
The thread believes it's okay because kotobukiya, a japanese company, made the figure so its allowed. Same with their /co/ line that everyone started shilling for months.
>>574656
>Thinking the mods will do their job.
Okay, dude.
If only /toy/ wasn't so anal about what was allowed, Buyfag threads wouldn't have to be on a media board of any kind.
>>574663
>So /jp/ is the only option.
It's comfortably and functionally been on /a/ for years, what is your problem.
>>574669
>media board
This is a rule that you personally invented for yourself, because it assisted your argument.
>>574667
People literally posted about grabbing AmiAmis snackbox just for pocky. And not one post was deleted. Are you going to tell me pocky and ramune belongs on /a/ outside of a dankashi thread and not on /jp/ or /ck/?
>>574659
I'm sorry about that error, but do light novels have a place on /a/?
>>574673
The mods sometimes move them out of /a/ and sometimes don't. Ask them.
>>574664
They get told to fuck off or they get ignored, so fuck off. Doesn't stop the fact that anime and manga related merch is the reason and lifeblood of the threads.
>>574669
>media board
Stop using that term as if it's stated anywhere in the rules of this website. It's completely fabricated by you, and you alone.
>>574662
>source they'll get on it?
The mods and janitors do their best to keep up with this fast paced website. Certain things will slip through the cracks I'm sure. But they can't moderate if you don't report, anon. If you're posting in the buyfag thread and see a /v/ figure, report it. You can't demand a thread be moved to another board, which wouldn't suddenly make those posts on topic either because /v/ figures do not belong in /jp/, because some posts are off-topic.
>>574672
Maybe you should have reported them.
>>574673
If they have an anime.
>>574677
It turns out that not everybody is as annoyed by tangentially related posts as you, but even if nobody batted an eye at the Powerpuff Girls OP getting posted in threads about OPs, it still wouldn't be reason to kick the threads into /mu/. That would be self-evidently retarded.
>>574672
Did they literally do that? I can't believe it, I cannot believe that sometimes, people make offtopic posts in otherwise acceptable threads on 4chan boards, that's shocking. We should ban all threads everywhere starting now.
>>574676
What thread do you visit because it's certainly not /a/'s buyfag.
>>574660
They aren't but like it's been stated, a Japanese man touched the figure so that automatically makes it suitable for /a/.
>>574684
But somehow, it would be /jp/ related too? Because a Japanese man touched it?
>>574683
Are you disagreeing with the fact that buyf/a/g threads are made with the purpose of discussing anime and manga related items?
>>574665
>There is not a single person who has been confused by this, except for you.
I am the only person talking against figures on /a/? Get your head out of your ass and use a real argument.
>>574687
Being confused =/= You think it doesn't belong on /a/.
Stop moving the goalposts. Saying people get confused implies that there are threads being created on /jp/ all the time, and no one knows where to go.
We've been on /a/ for years. /jp/ understands this and tells people posting anime merchandise to fuck off to our thread.
>>574685
They very rarely have headphone posts just because a guy slapped a love live symbol on his headphones. Very rarely, but its okay because of that symbol.
>>574688
>I will keep using a made-up rule that doesn't exist because my argument fell apart.
We know. Anime merchandise is anime related. /a/ is for the discussion of anime related topics.
>>574691
Report it. Did you know that very rarely people use non-anime or manga related reaction images on /a/ even though it's against the rules? Do you think we should move /a/ to another board?
>>574678
That was me and I correct myself in another comment.
To say they belong less on /jp/ just goes to show how much you understand what both boards are for. /a/ is for anime and manga, and everything else is for /jp/.
>>574690
>we
>/jp/ understands this
I didn't know you spoke for everyone in /jp/ and /a/
>>574690
>/jp/ understands this and tells people posting anime merchandise to fuck off to our thread.
/jp/ actually doesn't do this, because nobody does so. If they wanted to, they could. It doesn't practically matter for the aforementioned reason.
>I will keep using the term "media" until you people know what Anime and Manga mean
Anime and manga are both media, but that does not mean that the only thing that can be discussed on /a/ is media. Sales and industry dynamics are not "media," but people discuss those as well.
>>574688
Go back in time and post about mangos on /a/. Actual fruity mangos and animus.
>>574683
He came here to post shit, he probably doesn't even browse /a/.
>>574692
But it only gets deleted when it goes againts you and mods. Every other time it's allowed like cia guy bane and the such. The only time some 3D gets deleted is when it's a girl or its vomitdog. People post melonpan and he isnt even remotely anime related. His dakis and wealth is not anime and manga related.
>>574694
Are you trying to say that people in the buyfag thread are confused about where the buyfag thread belongs despite being on /a/ for years uninterrupted?
When you said or defend someone who said that the mods are confusing people, you were trying to speak on behalf of literally the entire website. So fuck off with that tired, blown out argument.
>>574697
It's unlikely that he browses /tv/, /co/, /jp/, or /toy/ either, so that only leaves the question of where he actually comes from.
>>574685
No one ever said it would be fine on /jp/ as well. It should fuck off to /co/ or /toy/.
>>574699
>mods don't delete everything always all the time 24/7/365!
Not an argument.
But have you finally started to understand that the rules are guidelines and not laws?
>>574702
Then the argument shouldn't be that because /v/ material gets posted in the buyfag thread that the thread should be moved to /jp/, but that those posts should be deleted.
>>574701
So you are disagreeing with the fact that buyf/a/g threads are made with the purpose of discussing anime and manga related items. That's a pretty bold stance.
>>574690
Like I said, i will keep using the term because that is what Anime and Manga, or /a/, is about.
Also, who is "we"? Are you with a friend while posting this, or do you have a sick mental disease? Or...you are talking for an entire board/s? That's disgusting.
Anyway, people are confused, or this thread wouldn't have been made and other talk in actual buyfag threads with questions as to why it's on /a/ wouldn't occur.
>>574705
You replied to the wrong person.
>>574706
>Anyway, people are confused, or this thread wouldn't have been made
You are not a "people." You are a person.
How you can claim to speak for a collective immediately after calling people out on it is beyond me. You have to be taking the piss.
>>574700
>years uninterupted
>people constantly telling buyfag to fuck off to /toy/ until they got banned by the mod
>uninterrupted
The only reason why that worked was because /toy/ doesn't like scales, but now that someone suggested /jp/ you're lying your ass off with no proof other than semantic defenses. Nice try and fuck off back to whatever site you came from.
>>574692
Figures are still not anime or manga.
Can't say otherwise.
>>574711
Are anime figures anime-related?
>>574706
>Anyway, I am confused, or I wouldn't have made this thread and other shitposts in actual buyfag threads with questions as to why it's on /a/ wouldn't occur because I would't be making them
Fixed that for you.
>>574703
>can't retort so he resorts to his not an argument meme.
It's a fact boy, I don't need to argue whats clearly true if anyone visits the archives.
>>574710
>constantly
Besides you fucking around this past week, there hasn't been any complaints even in this year. This is wild.
>>574700
Yet it's okay that you are talking for an entire board instead of him?
What gives you that right? Also your statements are generally false. People have and will continue to question why figures are posted on /a/.
thankfully /qa/ is a slow board so this thread will never die
>>574717
>What gives you that right?
Correctness.
>>574705
You keep replying to the wrong person.
Autosage in 4 hours. Crazy.
I think this demonstrates the culture gap between /a/ and /jp/ pretty well.
>>574716
>any complaints this past year
Confirmed for not a regular in the thread.
With all this talk of Buyfag threads, it really shows that either no one cares about DJT threads or they have no credible excuse as to why they are allowed on /a/.
So...is there an actual reason as to why DJT threads are on /a/, besides the stupid suggestion that we need to have a thread daily to learn Japanese to read manga or understand anime?
>>574706
>or /a/, is about
/a/ is about discussing anime and manga related topics.
Examples include: Sales and industry dynamics, seiyuus, author/artist drama, studio events, LNs/WNs/VNsrelated to anime and manga, and merchandise related to anime and manga such as illustration books, blurays, audio cds, statues, and more.
>>574710
Way to just pull shit out of your ass. Do you realize how long ago someone tried to post on /toy/? Do you know what years means?
>>574715
>It's a fact
That isn't relevant. You're saying mods don't manage to delete everything that is off-topic. And? So? Do you suggest we move anything that has had an off-topic post to another board?
>>574717
>Yet it's okay that you are talking for an entire board instead of him?
I'm not the one who thinks that's somehow an argument and has used it repeatedly ITT. The fact is that the buyfag thread hasn't mistakenly been posted on /toy/ or /jp/ because of confusion by posters from the threads or those boards. This isn't me speaking on behalf of anyone. It's a fact.
>>574719
But you're wrong. Just admit you want the thread to stay on /a/ for the internet cred and turn off your computer.
>>574727
No, I want anime and manga related subjects to stay on /a/. Anime and manga merchandise are an anime and manga related subject.
>>574725
A bunch of users and moderators decided it should be that way, because they thought it would increase users' appreciation of anime and/or manga.
>>574727
I wasn't >>574700, so I should have said that "correctness" gives him that right. My reasons for wanting buyfag thread out of /jp/ are somewhat different.
>>574725
DJT should have its own board
A language board
>>574726
But you've been wrong about everything. /jp/ had a buyfag that had /a/ posters. /v/ had a short lived buyfag only because their wasnt enough content so they came back to /a/. Just stop posting about things you don't know.
>>574713
/a/ - Anime & Manga
All images and resulting discussion should pertain to anime or manga.
They are, but they are not anime or manga. So they do not belong on /a/.
>>574723
Bring your proof. Show me all these detrimental complaints that mean so much to you.
>>574728
How is it anime and manga related if there are unrelated things in that thread? You still haven't proven why.
>>574725
It causes no harm and has no entirely relevant board. It only upsets retards who aren't familiar with imageboards and believe it's supposed to function like a forum.
>>574734
>/jp/ had a buyfag that had /a/ posters
Any evidence? Otherwise, I can dismiss it. /jp/ talks about onaholes and other japanese goods. Not figures.
>/v/ had a short lived buyfag
They had a thread about western videogame related merchandise. This doesn't belong on /jp/ either, so it's a non-argument.
>Just stop posting about things you don't know.
Right back at you, faggot.
>>574737
Why should I bring proof when I've named specific instances that can be found in the archives while you've proved nothing?
>>574739
The presence of unrelated things in a thread or board does necessarily not make that thread or board unrelated to /a/.
The burden on proof is on you.
>>574739
>How is it a thread about x if there is a single post about y?
>even one y post invalidates the entire thread forever and ever
You need help but you're not going to get it here.
>>574738
Mods aren't rules.
Either show me where it is state in the rules here...
https://www.4chan.org/rules#a
...or accept the fact that there is no grounding for this.
>>574739
There's nothing to prove. Anime merchandise relates to anime. This is like asking me to prove that threads about the anime industry's state belongs on /a/. It relates to anime by virtue of being related to anime.
>if there are unrelated things in that thread?
If someone makes an anime OP thread and someone else posts the opening to Cow & Chicken, it doesn't mean we need an animation musical opening board or to move the entire thread to /co/. It just means you need to report the post and have a janitor delete that specific post. I can't believe I have to explain this.
>>574745
>...or accept the fact that there is no grounding for this.

Show me where it says anime and manga related content is allowed? All i see is
"All images and resulting discussion should pertain to anime or manga."
which makes it pretty obvious that it means anime and manga. Where does it say we can have figures?
>>574721
More like the lack of enforcement of rules by moderators.
>>574750
The rules do not say "directly pertain." They say "pertain." You are really scraping the bottom of the linguistic barrel here.

We already know you're retarded.

These mental gymnastics of yours are amazing.

Then why not state it in /a/'s rules that DJT is allowed?
>>574732
I could easily see a language board that has different generals per language. I don't know why something like this hasn't happened already.
>>574740
Once again, why no rules stating it's fine? Why only do I have the word of moderators or users like you saying it's an okay topic on a media board? You would think a board named /jp/ would have a thread about learning Japanese instead of an anime and manga board...
>>574726
/v/ always has buyfag threads that have Japanese figures sprinkled throughout it time and time again.
You are just posting misinformation or honestly don't know what you are talking about.
>>574762
>Then why not state it in /a/'s rules that DJT is allowed?
So they can retain the freedom to slap down anyone who brings the conversation too far afield, if they feel like it.
>Why only do I have the word of moderators or users like you saying it's an okay topic on a media board?
You also have years of observation, since the thread has existed for a while now.
>instead
There is no "instead" here. Some topics can be posted in /a/ and /jp/.
>>574724
>It's mostly demonstrating a population gap.
There's that, but also many arguments going back and forth. /a/ is very spirited and you need to hold onto that.
>>574762
>Why only do I have the word of moderators
Whose word do you want? Why do you even want your hand held over this, it's clearly acceptable. Until the threads you're complaining about are deleted into extinction, there is nothing you can do about it. You're going to have to sleep knowing that you can not and will not accomplish anything regarding any of this.
>>574762
>Then why not state it in /a/'s rules that DJT is allowed?
Probably because no one on this website was this autistic until recently. We didn't need rules for every little thing. Imageboards grow organically.
>I don't know why something like this hasn't happened already.
Probably because no one gives a shit about learning other languages to make a general for it. Not even /int/ cares.
>You would think a board named /jp/
That's not /jp/'s name. It's called Otaku culture.
>>574766
>/v/ always has buyfag threads that have Japanese figures sprinkled throughout it time and time again.
And? Are you suggesting those threads need to go on /jp/ because of a few posts are off-topic? Do you still not realize that that's okay on 4chan? Holy fuck.
>>574728
>No, I want
Who cares what you want.

Read the rules, /a/ is for anime and manga. Where does it say figures are allowed?
https://www.4chan.org/rules#jp
...meanwhile, /jp/ states figures are not only allowed but encouraged to be posted.
Just follow the rules. How hard is that?
>>574773
>Read the rules, /a/ is for anime and manga. Where does it say figures are allowed?
It doesn't say it explicitly, because people have inferred reasonably that anime figures are pertinent to anime.
>>574773
>Who cares what you want.
The guy talking to me that tried to assume what I wanted. I know you're illiterate given that you didn't understand what pertain meant.
>Read the rules, /a/ is for anime and manga. Where does it say figures are allowed?
It says images and discussions that pertain to anime and manga. Anime and manga merchandise pertain to anime and manga, according to the definition provided by google, the oxford dictionary, and the merriam-webster dictionary.
>...meanwhile, /jp/ states figures are not only allowed but encouraged to be posted.
Yes, some subjects can belong on multiple boards. We've already provided the examples of gunpla, mobages, and visual novels being scatter shot across the website.
>>574746
Then why have /jp/ that states figures should be posted there?
>>574773
There is no rule against anime and manga related topics being discussed on the anime and manga board.
>>574777
So that you can talk about figures in /jp/ as well as /a/. It is a freedom that has been granted to /jp/.
>>574777
You can post books on the literature board. Does that mean the anime and manga board is now an abomination for splitting the focus? Because you know, manga are books.
>>574759
/jp/ - Otaku Culture
All images and discussion should pertain to light and visual novels, figures and other otaku paraphernalia, Touhou Project, Vocaloid, doujin works and music, and diverse niche Japanese interests (kigurumi, idols, mahjong, tea).
What's the point of all this then? It's like buyfag users forgot /jp/ existed and are stuck posting on /a/ instead.
Leave /a/ for fucking anime and manga, not figures and toys.
>>574777
The /jp/ rule is a guideline of what can be posted there, not what can only be posted there. The rule you're referring to does not include multiple threads that are up there right now and will never be deleted for off-topic.
It is a guideline. You can certainly make a thread about hentai figures there. I don't think you would be banned for posting an off-topic thread. Doesn't somehow negate that anime and manga merchandise pertain to anime and manga.
>>574782
A strict reading of the rules says that figures are more closely related to /jp/ than /a/. This doesn't stop anyone from posting figures in /a/.
Similarly, you can discuss /a/-related music in /a/ and /jp/-related music in /jp/. The fact that /mu/ exists for music discussion doesn't mean that everybody has to use it for all music discussion.
>>574782
>What's the point of all this then?
Rules are guidelines. This was created when Moot made the board for the sole purpose of diverting 2hu posting away from /a/. It is not a rule of excluding posts on other boards, but a guideline for what /jp/ should have posted.
Do you see Kancolle, mobages, or rhythm games on there? No, but they are also allowed on /jp/. Kancolle, as it relates to the anime, is also allowed on /a/. And, if you really want to get CRAZY, you can make a Kancolle thread on /vg/ because it is a net game.
>>574771
>>You would think a board named /jp/
>That's not /jp/'s name. It's called Otaku culture
Figures are a part of Otaku culture, at least the western definition of it. Why figures are posted on /a/ instead of where it should be, /jp/, is beyond my understanding.
>>574786
>beyond my understanding.
The problem here is the limits of your understanding.
>>574771
>Probably because no one gives a shit about learning other languages to make a general for it. Not even /int/ cares.
Then why do we have these fucking threads on /a/?
>>574788
Because the poster you're quoting specified "other languages," and Japanese is not a language other than Japanese.
>>574786
>Figures are a part of Otaku culture
Anime merchandise pertains to anime too. It's almost as if some subjects can be posted across multiple boards and not be off-topic.
You can have an anime music thread on /a/, a touhou music thread on /jp/, and a japanese music thread on /mu/. Gunpla can and is posted on /a/, /toy/, and /m/. Im@s is posted on /a/, /jp/, and /vg/.
This isn't new. You are.
>>574788
Are you fucking retarded?
>>574782
>you can't post animals anywhere other than /an/, the board specifically states to post animals there
>/x/ wants to have a thread about spooky creatures and shit
>but they're animals so it has to be posted on /an/, it's the rules!!
This doesn't make any sense. You can't possibly have browsed this site for more than a handful of hours total the way you're going on.
>>574791
Gunpla isn't really excepted on /a/. The other boards they are, but not /a/.
/a/ will tell you to fuck off to /m/ or someshit.
>>574793
A thread dedicated solely to gunpla, no. But people post them and talk about them occasionally in Gundam and buyfag threads.
>>574795
>people
It's only a handful of guys, usually just that nendoroid guy.
>>574787
The problem here is you insisting everyone goes by your rules. If figures were not allowed in /jp/ then dolls shouldn't be there either. And yet they are, so are plushies.
So what is the consensus about Daily Japanese Threads?
I for one would enjoy it being a general on /jp/ or have a possible joint venture between /a/ and /v/, but it seems like whatever happens people will complain.
>>574803
>by your rules
No, the website's rules and the moderation team's interpretation of it.
Anime and manga merchandise pertain to anime and manga. Therefore, discussion of this subject can be posted on /a/. Figures are also allowed to be discussed on /jp/. That's it.
You can make a thread about Yuki Kajiura on both /a/ and /mu/. It would be on topic for both boards. You can also discuss im@s on /a/, /jp/, and /vg/.
Lurk more.
>>574805
Only the very loud vocal few would complain. What would change if it was moved to /jp/? Nothing, the same users would migrate to that general as 2hu fans did with /jp/. I'm not saying it'll be perfect, but it's not like it'll be a loss, not many in /a/ can read and speak japanese.
>>574807
>Figures are also allowed to be discussed on /jp/
You mean they belong in there. That's it.
>>574810
I'm just going to repost what I said until you can wrap your little mind around it.
Anime and manga merchandise pertain to anime and manga. Therefore, discussion of this subject can be posted on /a/. Figures are also allowed to be discussed on /jp/. That's it.
Anime merchandise pertains to anime too. It's almost as if some subjects can be posted across multiple boards and not be off-topic.
You can have an anime music thread on /a/, a touhou music thread on /jp/, and a japanese music thread on /mu/. Gunpla can and is posted on /toy/ and /m/. Im@s is posted on /a/, /jp/, and /vg/.
You can make a thread about Yuki Kajiura on both /a/ and /mu/. It would be on topic for both boards.
>>574812
>Figures are also allowed to be discussed on /jp/
You keep switching /jp/ and /a/ around. Figures can be absolutely posted if the discussion pertains to the actual series, not about the toy. The rest is moot because the question is wether or not buyfag should be moved to /jp/, not about wether different mediums can only be posted in certain threads. There will always be a post about a figure in /a/ but I will reiterate the question at hand: Should buyfag be moved to /jp/? Yes it should. No one is saying you CAN'T post a figure in /a/ if its related to the series. If buyfag threads are really about discussions you would see manga posted along with blurays but that's not the case. If it was really pertaining to anime and manga discussion you'd be posting in series specific threads about the merchandise while keeping the buyfag thread about your latest loot in /jp/ while answering common questions not answered in the guide. It's that simple.
>>>/jp/15465147
Is the departure already happening??? I guess /a/ buyfag threads are a thing of the past.
>>574820
you're going to get told off
>>574820
Progress is made.
>>574820
Damn, we won...
>>574820
If you look in the thread, it's just idol posting with /jp/ people telling /a/ to fuck off.
Yeah, you won. Two buyfag threads on /a/ and one on /jp/. My sides.
>>574817
>Yes it should
No one cares what you think.
>If it was really pertaining to anime and manga discussion
It's pertaining to anime and manga merchandise so the discussion is about anime and manga merchandise. Anime and manga merchandise pertains to anime and manga.
>while keeping the buyfag thread about your latest loot in /jp/
Why would i talk about anime and manga merchandise on /jp/? It's not for anime and manga.
>>574838
You can stop posting now.
>>574838
>Yeah, you won. Two buyfag threads on /a/ and one on /jp/. My sides.
And all those threads are garbage. Nice.
>>574840
Yep. So much for caring about the board's quality, huh? Looks like you just wanted to shitpost.
Thanks for giving me three threads to dump my collection in.
>>574842
No, it just goes to show that quality is lacking in these kinds of threads because they aren't posted on /jp/. There doesn't need to be two buyfag threads on /a/ at a time.
>>574850
>/jp/
>quality
You've run out of arguments. All you did was make a thread that will be bumped off the board in 4 days, while /a/ keeps having buyfag threads.
Your endless crying and bitching has failed. If anything, you've recreated what already exists with /m/ and /toy/. More buyfag threads for us.
>/jp/ thread deleted

>>574865
>implying he didn't wake up a mod with his constant reporting.

>>574865
I hope OP blew a blood vessel that asspained faggot.
>>574669
>If only /toy/ wasn't so anal about what was allowed
Ok, let me tell you something: /toy/ isn't anal about it. In fact, several times it have been discussed the purpose of rule 2 ("no japanese figurines allowed!"), and we usually conclude that "moot implement said rule because /jp/ and to troll us", which eventually leads to two parties taking their own postures.
(In fact, we just had a mini-discussion about this: >>>/toy/5757182 just follow the thread)
At one hand, we have the "remove rule 2" side, which I support because...
At the other hand, we have a bunch of rulefags who inevitable will spam "statueshit are not toys!" (despite the rest of the world, including retailers, including Kotobukiya and the like on the toys category), on every thread with a statue on OP and will report it to get it deleted.
In other words, we have a bunch of people who will take rule 2 as excuse to troll and report everything they don't like, and we already had a lot of drama because this.
For a while, the threads for toys linked to videogames (amiibos, disney infinity and so on) was trolled to death by rulefags, despite the janitors ignoring their bitching and reports, and you can't imagine the drama when some anon posted one piece figures that only had one or two PoA. Despite the reports and bitching, the janitors allowed them, even if they were pretty much statues with swappable arms or heads.
If rule 2 were to be removed, we would be free of these no-fun rulefags, and we could share some room with /a/ during the wonfes. Isn't like /toy/ is a superfast board rivalling /v/ or /a/, we would have plenty of room for trivial threads.
>>574873
Similar to the /toy/ and /m/ situation with gunpla, /a/ doesn't actually care if you guys have statue threads. We just want to talk about anime merch with /a/nons, and we've received our blessing from the mods.
If /toy/ has a rule against japanese figurines, then I mean it's explicitly against the rules. If mods ignore it or remove the rule, I don't really care.
There's nothing wrong with a subject being discussed on several boards.
>>574873
>"moot implement said rule because /jp/ and to troll us"
So does this mean figures should stay on /jp/ or not?
>>574875
>If /toy/ has a rule against japanese figurines, then I mean it's explicitly against the rules
>If (there's) a rule against... then it's explicitly against the rules...
No shit, Sherlock.
You missed my point: yes, we have rule 2, but a large part of the /toy/ soldiers dislike said rule, and the only ones who want it to be keep around are the ones who used to troll the rest of the board. We, for the most part, neither care about your buyfag threads, and I don't remember anyone asking to fuse or move them into our board. Personally, I wouldn't mind if we get flooded with statue threads during the wonfes, I just don't want the rulefags stirring shit every time someone with a bit of common sense post on /toy/ to talk about anime statues and similar merch.
You have no idea how often we have TTG threads in there too.
>>574878
Figures can be discussed on /jp/. They are otaku culture after all. But please not as a /buyfag/ general with people coming from /a/ to talk about mainly anime/manga figurines.
>>574883
There was a thread up with non-anime and manga characters posted, but half the comments became shitting on the thread and telling everyone to go back to /a/, which made the mods close the thread.
How can these threads stay on /jp/ if there is such negative feedback with the mods eventually closing them?
>>574878
>Should stay
I don't know. Maybe is semantics, but I wouldn't say "should stay", I would say "could stay" on /jp/, as well as /a/ and /toy/. In other words, I think we should have some flexibility and allow threads of the same topic on different boards related to it.
When I said rule 2 exists because /jp/, I didn't mean /jp/ should be the only place for statues, but I tried to mean moot didn't wanted to /toy/ to take away a large share (back then) of the board purpose, so he had to impose such vague limit.
>>574887
Okay that explains it well, thanks.
Was afraid I was going to get a heated arguable comment back, but you explained it well.
>>574881
>TTG
Sorry, I mean TGC, like Yugi-oh.
>>574889
I could see Yu-Gi-Oh being on /toy/ since where else could it be posted? It's kind of like in the scenario of where Touhou should be posted.
Does /toy/ generally allow it?
>>574890
Trading card games, like Magic the gathering, are /tg/ territory. Every time someone starts a thread about YGO, most of the responses are ">>/tg/", and so on. However, the threads rarely are deleted, so even if they were reported, the janitors rarely pay attention. And because rulefags can't cite anything against it, the shitposting remains at minimum. However, there's very little interest, so they sink and are pruned within the week.
>>574897
Forgot about /tg/ thanks.
>>574885
Need I remind you, that thread was just a copy paste moved version of the /buyfag/ thread from /a/.
>>574904
Yeah, it wasn't deleted because of negative feedback. It was deleted because a faggot made it to stir the pot. If /jp/ feels like making a thread about their vocaloid figures, they will.
>>574904
Should it be designed specially for /jp/? Does it need something else to make it special?
It's a buyfag thread, I don't see anything wrong with that image. It even has Miku, who isn't even /a/ material.
>>574913
You're so engrained in the shit that you don't even realize how awful your threads are. Please never make threads on /jp/ and stay on /a/.
Hiro, this whole thread and the people in it is reason enough to delete /a/.
>>574919
But it's ok when /a/ does it. They're above the law.
>>574919
kek
>>574916
>still angry someone made a buyfag thread on /jp/
Maybe it should go there. Right up until someone mentioned it being made the /a/ buyfag was utter shit then as soon as that thread was made all of a sudden someone started being really helpful and replying nicely.
>>574947
You mean as soon as this /qa/ thread was made all the dedicated shitposters came in here to shit about instead of in the /a/ thread/s. This entire thread was a shitpost carnival for a retarded OP and anons who decided to take his stupid ass seriously.
>>575056
You have to realize the world we live in now caters to these people who 'strongly feel' and don't abide by common sense or regulation. Look around you, all it takes is just a couple people screaming and crying about something to change it. Why? That's beyond me, but these people need to be put in their place. Yeah it's over a measly fuckin' thread on an imageboard on the vast net. It's the principle. Can't let these entitled pieces of shit run around changing whatever they feel like. Buyfag is an established part of /a/. So OP can go stand on a soapbox somewhere else.
I'd say anime figs and merchandise in general is crucial to /a/ because anyone who knows anything knows that sales in blu rays, figs, and other merchandise is what drives a show's success and more often than not, makes it a candidate for another season. It's almost like telling /tv/ they can't talk about ratings anymore.
>>575288
>/jp/ is pretty tolerant of things when the motivation is positive and not simply another case of /a/ dumping its unwanted trash onto it.
Unless it's KanColle. /jp/ hates that shit.
>>575108
It's funny, because this is probably the only sane, logical and well-thought out comment on this entire thread.
>>575340
Having one sane/logical/well-thought out post out of 400+ is par for the course in 4chan.
>>575108
But the buyfag thread is about collecting the latest meme figures rather than the sales of said series. The issue is the thread not the discussion of sales and merchandise towards a new season. That's always going to happen because it's usually what determines a second, maybe third and fourth season.
>>574664
Anon, we have a funko pop general.
>>>/toy/5733657
Isn't very active, but it have been around for a while, and despite your occasional troll, most of /toy/ doesn't seem to care about it. /toy/ is a friendly board (for 4chan standards) who have lots of shitposter because a stupid rule that serves no purpose, but giving ammunition to trolls and shitposters.
>>575344
The post saying pop's aren't allowed on buyfag but they are on /toy/. It wasn't denying that their isn't a pop general, but that people get told off when they post them on an /a/ thread.
