Why are twitch links and links from certain virtual trading sites not allowed?
People find ways around them and I've never seen a problem with self-advertising, though I don't browse /v/ and browse /vg/ instead.
What's the deal?
>People find ways around them
Then why are you asking?

It's a nuisance, is all.
>I've never seen a problem with self-advertising
other people have a problem with it

Advertising is against the rules.

It's a problem on /v/ (and probably /b/ I would assume) with people advertising their garbage. 4chan isn't excluded from the group of kids that see themselves as the new pewdiepie.
Most people don't have a willingless to type in a url for a random ad so it's a pretty damn effective measure.
