Is it worth it to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1? The only thing keeping me from biting the bullet is my inherent dislike of change to things I'm used to.

Terrible compatibility with older software, they have a page on bill gate's micro-soft penis site showing how many games are incompatible with 10. Depending on your computer, the best windows that will run for it is the one made for that computer, if it doesn't have good specs win 10 will run slower with all the extra processes it runs with cortana alone.

Also want to add that forced updates come whenever. You could be doing important shit like rendering a video or downloading porn, if you leave the computer unattended it will shutdown and install updates. I was hanging out with a friend and his laptop started updating without his consent while his vidya program was minimized and he had to wait 2 hours. I set my win 7 partition to only check for updates when I tell it to, try telling win 10 to do that.

I didn't know you could get Windows compiled with -march=native :^)
I highly recommend not doing it if you play any older games, especially eroge.
I'm still on 7 will remain so for quite some time.
