Yes. I've long thought it's the group mentality that makes things more enjoyable.
The western culture of pretending that people themselves are more interesting and worthy of celebration than the content or ideas they create is pretty dumb and annoying in my opinion.
I think my view on the world more naturally line up with how Japanese (and probably just asian people in general) think. So yes, I think I probably would have had a better experience growing up in Japan.
