Tumblr at first was pretty much 4chan in microblogging version. Hell, the first actual tumblr raid that almost nobody remembers was because they posted a lot of things "stolen" from /b/ and /v/. It was later in 2011 that it turned into what's now known for (feminists and all that).
And like I said, Reddit is a good platform, though I don't like the voting system.

tumblr has quite a few great futa/shemale artists, even Japanese artists sometimes have tumblrs.

No, that's the actual source of the problem. People who are 4chan users do love to fling shit around, but at the end of the day, they actually have to live in that shit and will therefore be invested in the overall livability of the community. Reddit, on the other hand, thinks "4chan is for shitposting", and will therefore have no qualms about dumping shit on 4chan for laughs since they think of the entire thing as a sewer.
