I believe he said that 4chan was better at making memes than the Something Awful forums.
I doubt there was anything direct between Lowtax and Moot that caused any controversy.
The most interaction between both websites has been through specific board activities namely /b/ and /v/. Keep in mind those instances are many years old by now considering the recent state and actions of both boards.
I'm not an oldfag, at least not from 4chan, but I do remember that he's made a few comments.
I think he initially shrugged off 4chan as a short-lived fluke but he eventually grew to respect it.
As the previous anon said, this is from a long time ago in internet time.
