Change name of /pol/ from politically incorrect -- to just politics. /pol/ is no longer a chockablock of far-rightism of various sorts (National Socialism, White Nationalism, neo-reactionaries etc.) the discussion and community is more diverse than ever before and thinking /pol/ is just one big anti-PC rightist hub is no longer true.
Not only that but I suggest updating the rules too:
>Red pill me on X. (with no extra content or input of your own)
>Are X white?
>Is X degeneracy?
>How come X girls love Y guys so much?
>If X is true, then how come Y? Checkmate Z.
They seem (for the most part) outdated.
no

everyboard here is a meme. Again no one wants more politics bullshit just leave it as it is.

>>>/reddit/
>>568028
way too much effort for a giant shitpile
>>568028
I agree with everything except changing the shitposting examples. While some of the words may be outdated, the templates sure are as hell arent. Also, to note, that icon you just posted is not official but merely one that old /pol/flakes assumed. Changing the name would make it outdated indeed. So overall, I plainly agree with the name change.
How about prohibiting general bait? Trolling is prohibited outside of /b/ anyway. Why not enforce that rule?
There's so much bait that actual political discussion is being pushed away from the front page.
Secondly, all the memespam's gotta go.
>>568111
well triple'd
I do think the name seems to imply that you should be "politically incorrect" for the hell of it rather than discuss anything.
I remember specific instances when shitposting was defended with "but it's politically incorrect, faggot" when there was a thread genuinely about a world event or something else. (this was two years ago, I haven't been to /pol/ since then)
Ultimately I think any change to /pol/ has to happen after the election when things cool down.

They're already in the rules but the mods rarely enforce them.

Hey bud, why don't you take it easy with the samefag. I think everyone reading the first post understood your trigger anxiety. No need to repeat yourself.
>>569004
More like people never use the report feature unless it is explicitly to target inconvinient content they don't like (like the good echo chamber they are).
>>568483
The original /pol/ didn't have such a name. It was moot's idea of 'appealing to the community' after he recreated it with the unfortunate situation that if it were truly about free speech, it wouldn't imply the hugbox it is.

BAD DOUBLES

It wasn't samefag though you double nigger

Yes you were.

Fuck off samefag. You're pretty naive if you think that is going to convince anyone.
>>568351
>censoring
This is america not euro. eurofagfags
yeah change the name
Change the name to politics & news. Make it so discussion on the board is solely about those those things. It'll curtail the edginess.
>>569190
>calling everyone who disagree a samefag
wew no
>>568028
>the discussion and community is more diverse than ever before and thinking /pol/ is just one big anti-PC rightist hub is no longer true.
yeah because /pol/ went to shit and most of the users left.
/pol/ is terrible because of constant "pol btfo" shitposts and leftist spam
Did the horse spammer decide to start bumping the /reddit/ threads now?
>>568100
>thread about /pol/
>fuck of nazi
wew lad
>>568028
I've been saying for quite some time now the main reason /pol/ sucks is because rules aren't strictly enforced. Too many bullshit threads on /pol/ that have nothing to do with it's actual content.
Nah, /pol/ is just a containment board for stormfags and edgy kids. Don't waste your time with it.
>>572834
That's the problem -- we can easily rectify /pol/. OP wants to make it so threads on /pol/ are strictly about politics & news. Nothing else.
I say update the rules and make it that way.
>actually caring about the quality of posts on /pol/
/pol/ is literally the definition of a containment board. Nobody gives a flying fuck about the quality of posts therein. That's like complaining about someone taking a massive shit in the middle of a garbage heap.
The only /pol/-related rule that should be enforced is >Keep /pol/ on /pol/
