Where the fuck are the /v/ mods and janitors? /v/ is possibly the worst it has ever been right now

There needs to be some drastic fucking changes. All these newfags from /pol/ are completely destroying /v/ and a lot of other boards too. Half of the threads I go to have at least 1 crossboarder who shits up a thread with his /pol/ buzzwords.
Really need to hear an opinion from a mod.

>still going on /v/

Leaving /v/ was the best decision of my life and has made me appreciate modern-day 4chan much more when I know the majority of the cancer has only infected a few select boards while more of the niche ones are still good to go.
>>
>>546638

Yes, I definitely haven't heard any such claim like this before.
>>
>>546662
I just realized who the op of this thread is.

I guess it's not a surprise those are the kind of people that are still browsing /v/ nowadays
>>
>>546662
I browse niche boards too but I've reignited my love for videogames and there is no board to discuss the games that I like.
>>
>>546672
What games do you like anon?

JRPGs, WRPGs, fightan,
3rd person shooters
/jp/ is too strict on game discussion and I am not interested in games /vr/ plays.

sucks for you since /jp/ and /vr/ discuss the type of games I am interested in. Good ones!

If you're into modern day vidya then discuss it with your friends or something, /v/ is not an option and /vg/ can only go so far.
>>
>>546675
/v/ as a collective likes most of those things I wouldn't really call it niche, there's usually a thread for those types of games every day or every other day, there's a fighting game general and an assortment of popular WRPG and JRPG generals, as much as I don't like to recommend generals (due to the circle jerkness)

I came back to /v/ just recently after years away and the place is just awash with crap. Wow it's bad. What happened?

I'm not saying that, like what you want to like. It's just unfortunate.

>>546680
c'mon anon, I know you've got a few friends on steam or something. A community you like or something. Or something!
>>
>>546683
I don't know, really don't.
Just a few days ago I felt as if I was browsing a different board, which is a good thing. When someone posted an offtopic thread the replies were telling OP to fuck off and it was deleted within minutes. It was like this for an entire day so here I thought it was the influx of new janitors and old anons that were responsible. I was wrong since the quality dropped the next day.
>c'mon anon, I know you've got a few friends on steam or something. A community you like or something. Or something!

None of that my friend. Just wish /v/ had a complete overhaul so I can talk about good vidya.

It's not happening. /v/ is shit for a variety of reasons.

If you ever find yourself thinking

>I wonder what /v/'s up to today!
THE SAME THING AS YESTERDAY. AND THE DAY BEFORE THAT

>I wonder what /v/ thinks of this
THEY WILL SHIT ON IT IN ANY WAY THEY CAN THINK OF

/v/ is predictable, stupid, and inane. There is no point in visiting it ever again, EVER. Give up on it. Explore anime, japanese culture, or retro vidya instead if you MUST talk about your experiences with anons here. There's lots to explore.
>>
>>546728
>THEY WILL SHIT ON IT IN ANY WAY THEY CAN THINK OF

That's not a problem. It's all the off topic shit that makes it bad.
>>
>>546736
That's why I vouched for an overhaul.
Another anon mentioned a sticky which doesn't seem like a bad idea but I'd like to hear the negatives of it.
/v/ isn't good at being a containment board so having a central board of 4chan heavily moderated will indirectly improve every other blue board.
>>
>>546638
The /v/ mods are too busy deleting threads like >>>/v/339429816
>>
Seriously, it's being deliberately ignored.
Why do we have to deal with shitty vidya waifu threads, Ashley guy, lammy lamb guy, sonic guy who must have four sonic threads up at all times, >shitty game trope greentext guy with /co/ image, platform wars and overwatch OUT THE ASS, anything "/v/eekday/end" (fuck off to /vg/)

WHY DOES NOTHING EVER GET DONE?

Idgaf about faggots like that. let them leave. they deserve to go to a shit website because their only taste of 4chan has ever been it's anus.

>>546732
/v/ has always been an interesting board because it has been known as an alt /b/ with a vidya coat over it. those days were fun but there were always also vidya threads alongside the blatant off-topic threads that survived because that was the prevalent culture of 4chan back then, fun and stupid. now its just stupid. Maybe it was taking away /v/'s dubs and removing the option to post nsfw under spoilers that have affected /v/'s mentality.

MAYBE it's the climate of shit games alongside SJW nonsense. Maybe it's a combination of all of that alongside all of the newfags that hate X because /v/ says so.

Whatever the case, the good times are gone. All that remains are brain-dead fools.
>>
>>546752
I would say finding a good day to delete every single thread on /v/ and starting fresh with a sticky post would be nice. I'd still like to hear the cons of a sticky because you can't go through something and not list both pros/cons
>>
>>546754
I didn't say it was ALWAYS known as that but its been like that for awhile.
>>
HATE MODS

Funny thing is that Australia has been rangebanned for a while now on /v/ and in that time it's only gotten worse.
I guess that's what happens when you send your scapegoat off into the desert sands. It only illustrates what the real problem is, which is the majority of poster who just happen to be American.
Every time m00t rangebanned a nation it failed to improve anything. How many more years does this have to go on before people start to realise that the problem posters on 4chan are almost entirely Americans?

Nah, let's rangeban Germany again. I'm sure that will improve things.
>>
>>546746
You're clearly fresh off the fucking board.
Lurk at least another year before posting.
>>
>>546651
>people not using the fucking report button
Reporting a post and not responding to trash threads is 2/3 of the battle. Too bad most people are too lazy or stupid to do these simple things.
>>
>>547178
this

we don't deserve quality discussion
>>
>>546874
I thought Australia got rangebanned for that one mobile shitposter that singlehandedly brought like an entire board to a halt.

Reminder that /v/ can be improved immensely by drastically increasing reply timers. As it is right now, people can fire off shitty chatroom-tier posts once a minute, and the jans and mods cannot keep up.

Make the timers three minutes (at least) and people have more time to think about what they want to post. This won't affect those who actually have something to say, since three minutes is plenty of time to think of something and write it out. For shitposters, it won't be as fun. For the staff, they have more time to clean up the trash; when it is not removed, it encourages others by its mere presence.
