I don't think he cares that his post was deleted, and his point is that the mod must obviously have seen the porn thread in order to see his post, yet the mod decided not to delete porn on /v/ and instead cherry picked non-porn posts out of it

Not that guy but OP never made it clear that he did the right thing and reported the thread.
What's more, there's likely no way for us to "get accountability" for a mod's behavior other than trusting that fellow mods/staff can see everything that's going on and act accordingly.
The thing that OP has immediate and direct control over is his own actions, this case being not to contribute to shitting up an imageboard.
