The reason why first generation archives like Easymodo and Foolz lasted so long, archiving 4chan, was because they weren't retards.
Unfortuantely, Foolz fucked themselves over when they decided to start archiving /v/ and /vg/ which burned out the entire staff in 6 months after successfully archiving for like 3 to 4 years.
Easymodo also lasted the longest because they didn't archive boards like /v/.
I think archives and the people who run them are wonderful. There is so much information I'm missing out on when I'm busy so they are very useful.
Also, the recoverery of desu seems to be impeded.
