So this just happened.

First off, I will admit I have abused the report system. Mostly by reporting rule-breaking content like
https://desustorage.org/_/search/text/succ/country/de/
https://desustorage.org/_/search/country/mx/image/XKLN9YHrVAxWTj44gUqa7w/
as illegal content.
I do this because the moderators and janitors are incompetent and the only way to grab their attention is by reporting this type of shit illegal content. Even when this feature is used correctly, I've seen threads with child pornography die before the infringing posts are deleted.
Secondly, It's blatantly obvious you *are* seeing these posts in the report queue (the child pornography as well, I assume), since I've been warned and now blocked for reporting them. You simply choose not to do anything about them.

>I will admit I have abused the report system.
delete this thread retard
>>
>>533577
how can you abuse the report system?
>>
>>533587
By using the "illegal content" button instead of the "rule breaking content" button for things that aren't child pornography/government secrets, etc.
>>
>>533591
that doesn't justify a range ban, OP must have made something worse
>>
>>533600
>OP must have made something worse

Not really.
Guess the mods just got tired of seeing misclassified reports.

I made this thread to highlight how incompetent the moderation team is, and the fact they're unwilling to moderate their own site.

I don't expect them to remove the block anyway.
>>
>>533600
You didn't ask what justified a range ban. You asked how you can abuse the report system.
>>
>>533577
If you called 911 screaming bloody murder on a parking violation, they'd arrest you and probably leave the car alone.
>>
>>533577
>barneyfag is THIS mad

get fucked loser
>>
>>533577
Did you stop to consider that what you consider child porn really isn't by any legal definition?
>>
Sorry, anon. I heavily empathize with your disgust over what /int/ has become, but using the "illegal content" button isn't the right way to try and fix it.

>>533577
>I've seen threads with child pornography die before the infringing posts are deleted.
If I remember right, the speedy cp deletions are because if a post receives enough "illegal content" reports it will be automatically deleted.
>>
>>533778
fuck off, it's against the rules.
>>
>>533591
range banning that is a bit excessive.
>>
I've been reporting the pedospammer on /tv/ as illegal content for months now and I haven't been banned.

But that stuff seems to count as illegal content because I haven't been banned.

Feels good.
>>
>>534091
No it isn't. You have to range ban people nowadays because all you have to do is reset your router.
>>
>>534148
why can't we range ban the pedospammer on /tv/? he's been shitposting for 4 years.
>>
>>534601
he's probably using proxies
>>
>>534601
What does he have to do with you? Are you one of those people who thinks that you are the last person the rules should ever apply to?
>>
>>534601
I doubt the moderators care at all.
Hence why I made this thread. They'd rather shut down the report system than deal with shitposters.
>>
>>534667
literally everyone else on the site manages to report threads without thinking that they are so incredibly important that their reports must be put into a special queue for everyone to see

get your head out of your ass
>>
>>534601
We probably did and it turned out that he either wasn't alone, or he is using proxies we don't know about.
>>
>>534675
I don't think I'm particularly important.
I just want them to do something about all the rampant shitposting. The mods sure seemed to care when that Australian hacked Moot's admin account and doxxed FWG.

Is that what it takes to generate a response from the moderators?
They were also very lenient with Redwood after his little powertrip.

Their behaviour is erratic and makes no sense.
>>
>>533886
>If I remember right, the speedy cp deletions are because if a post receives enough "illegal content" reports it will be automatically deleted.
No, moot tried that once, and it quickly resulted in people spamming the report queue with proxies. That's why we have captchas on the reports in the first place.
>>
>>534694
>I don't think I'm particularly important.
then why do you demand that your reports receive special treatment

>Is that what it takes to generate a response from the moderators?
why do you think it is interesting or notable that a root-level server breach matters as much as 4chan's day to day shitposting

you may actually be retarded
>>
>>534694
Let me spell this out for you.

-There are more people reporting than there are people managing reports.
-All people managing reports are #doingitforfree so it's not like they're looking at it 8 hours a day
-There is more than one person managing the reports meaning that on almost any issue there is one mod who is the most in favor of your position, and one other mod who is the least in favor of your position, and it is random as to which mod reads your report.
-'*Their* behavior is erratic and makes no sense' is because they're more than one person and thus the whole will behave like a schizotypal D.I.D. sufferer.
>>
>>534700
matters more than*
>>
>>534700
>you may actually be retarded
Same goes for you.
You're making some odd assumptions.

>>534701
>-There are more people reporting than there are people managing reports.
They can come up with a better system.
>-All people managing reports are #doingitforfree so it's not like they're looking at it 8 hours a day
Being a volunteer is not an excuse for doing a poor job.
>-There is more than one person managing the reports meaning that on almost any issue there is one mod who is the most in favor of your position, and one other mod who is the least in favor of your position, and it is random as to which mod reads your report.
That's nice.
I'm going to quote the janitor application page.

>Rules are to be enforced as written. Janitors enforce site policy only and personal motives should never influence deletion. They are objective, not subjective.

I think the rules are fairly well outlined. Like I said, it seems like the moderation team simply chooses to not do anything.

At any rate, I can easily circumvent the range block and keep "abusing" the report system, but I'm not going to bother reporting anything any more.
Just to show you another example. This guy spams scat, gore, porn, CP, etc and the mods don't seem to care at all.
Funny, right? This must mean the mods endorse this type of behaviour.

https://desustorage.org/_/search/text/kill%20scumbags/country/se/
https://desustorage.org/_/search/text/tfw%20collection/country/se/
>>
>>535831
>the mods don't seem to care at all
Most of those posts were deleted, though.
>>
>>535831
>You're making some odd assumptions.
you are taking non-illegal, rule-breaking posts and reporting them as illegal so that they appear to be of higher priority than everyone else's reports

you are basically calling 911 on potholes and wondering why they arrest you instead of fixing the pothole

>I'm not going to bother reporting anything any more.
how will 4chan ever survive
>>
>>535834
Most stayed up for hours.
>>
>>535842
Wow, it's like jannies aren't sitting by the red phone 24 hours a day waiting for your reports or something.
>>
>>535840
That's the thing though.
I wouldn't need to abuse the report system if there was at least some semblance of moderation.

It's mystifying how you keep defending their incompetence.
>>535844
It's like they don't care about this site at all.
>>
>>535846
literally 99.9% of 4chan users manage to follow the rules when reporting the threads, you don't "need" to do jack shit (and you got exactly what you deserved for, you know, breaking the rules)

what's mystifying is that you think that you deserve to have your reports treated as illegal when they're very obviously not, and disrupting the operation of the site as much as any shitposter
>>
>>535846
like give me one good reason why your reports deserve to be treated with higher priority than everyone else's reports, just one

maybe everyone should just follow your stellar example and make the distinction entirely worthless
>>
>>535831
So why do you think that rules don't apply to you but they apply to other people? And why would you expect other people to be fundamentally different from you? Are you a space alien?
>>
>>535869
>So why do you think that rules don't apply to you but they apply to other people?
I don't, hence why I'm accepting the block. I've a dynamic IP that resets automatically every day, but I don't delete my cookies. Their decision is final for all I care.
I'm simply calling them out on their ineptitude.

Anyway, this is going nowhere.
>>
Hiroyuki ought to hire more mods. Paid mods. Who can also permaban the mods who do it voluntarily for free.
>>
>>533577
>the child pornography as well, I assume
What pizza? Is it actual pizza or are you just a prude?

>>533582
Reporting things as illegal is one of the only way to get jannies to give a shit, unless they are actively looking for things they don't like and want to have removed.
>>
>>536231
>Is it actual pizza or are you just a prude?
Pictures of naked children performing sexually explicit acts.
It used to be much worse when the Polish spammer was around.
>>
just popping in to clarify.

threads that keep getting reposted, such as the brandon threads I kept seeing on /adv/ a while back, or those christfag threads with that fucking kid that you see every fucking day on /b/ - those count as spamming right? because on the bans page I see bans for "repost/spamming." please tell me I can report this shit and maybe get it deleted or at least get mods to do something about this crap. even if it's not every time, at least once in a while. yeah I can just hide the threads, and I've been doing so, but this shit is just blatant cancer. I've reported a couple here and there but don't want to continue doing it if it's going to be seen as abusing the system.
>>
>>536665
>please tell me I can report this shit and maybe get it deleted or at least get mods to do something about this crap
You *should* report them. However, janitors and mods do not enforce the rules objectively, as stated above.
Don't expect them to do anything.
>>
>>536708
thank you, if nothing else, at least I'll feel like I'm doing something.
