There's one thread with thirteen replies on tg about an obscure chess variant and another with 0. It's mainly used for tabletop. The gsg thread doesn't even mention chess at all. It's just Stellaris and that Crusader King game, which is unsurprising, because they're video games, while chess, go, and mahjong are not.
