Even though I have responded "dumb frogposter" to other frogs as a meme like the anime girl you mentioned, I have never been warned or banned about it. "Mods should be able to tell what a joke is" ...is what I want to say.
The mod was definitely defending the Pepe, even though I didn't respond to the frog correctly as you can see from the picture. /a/ mods do not delete the meme frog from my experience.
