Alright first time making a thread here so feel free too slaughter me. But this is something I think should be done. There is little hope of salvaging /b/ from the depth of cancer that it has fallen into. I would greatly appreciate anyone who would consider helping me push the idea of a new board. I know its a lot too ask, but /b/ needs the help. Just like when the /mlp/ board split from us, we need another favor. /fet/ a board for all the fetishes that inhabit /b/. Trap, foot, fur and all the other fetishes that consume valuable thread slots. I know its a lot to ask, but its a step in the right direction for bringing back the okay /b/.

Even if you make a containment board, the same things will still be there on /b/, because why pick up and leave to another board unless the mods force you?
I've heard rumblings for a worksafe b that I think could be a good idea. Do away with all the porn entirely and allow everything else.

I do agree with your suggestion. Forcing all of the fetishes on a certain board would reduce the flow of posting in /b/ and /gif/, and would certainly allow them to post new content that isn't porn without it dying. There'd still be porn but much less, and the porn threads wouldn't die as fast as they do on /b/ and /gif/ so it would please everyone.
Though, we're talking about moving an userbase from a board to another and that can be very annoying. Regulars porn posters in /b/ would most likely not leave /b/, because they're here for that specific reason: they're in /b/.

I remember while I was in college some stupid neighbor's kid (high schooler) talked to me about 4chan. I asked him what boards he used and he said "the main one", and asking him to clarify, it turned out that that was /b/, and he literally didn't know there were other boards. That is exactly the kind of retardation you deal with when attempting to spin any idea of chemoing /b/. Most of its users wouldn't know what that is, what it means or why you want to do it.
moot did try a few roundabout chemo tricks on /b/ in the past (mostly fucking with it) and nothing really helped it either way. I think it's obvious /b/ would be improved if mods pushed most of the rate me/my gf/porn threads onto /soc/ and /s/, but because nothing forbids posting porn on /b/ and it is supposed to be a NSFW catch-all in the first place, there isn't a real precedent to doing that. It'd be like kicking a crowd of squatters out of an abandoned house and expecting the original owners to come back. At best you could hope the new crowd of vagrants replacing them was more entertaining than the last.
