I think oldfags who around from the golden age, 2007 and earlier, number fewer than 5%. Ancientfags from 2003 probably are less than 1%. There's a lot of people who pretend to be oldfags though because of encyclopedia dramatica, but most of 4chans current userbase most likely comes from Reddit, Tumblr, Facebook, etc, given how familiar most users seem to be with those websites.
What kind of site was early 4chan exactly? Was it a pedo site, just how much illegal stuff was posted daily?

They're still around, just on various of the smaller textboards and imageboards instead of on here. 0037 is still around and active on world2ch and so is tokiko. Meltingwax is still fairly active on IRC last time I checked and I know he occasionally posts on textboards.
Shii/ Avery Morrow doesn't post on anonymous boards anymore but he still uses IRC under a different name (not sure if he still does, I just remember some guy on w2ch mentioning it a while back).
