It's better than /r9k/, at least. Whether it's good remains to be determined.

Honestly, you're probably better off getting advice elsewhere.
What you'll find on /adv/ is incredibly hit or miss, if it's even relevant to begin with. Some people are just there to fuck with you, some have no idea what they're talking about, and only a handful of people are both knowledgeable and trying to help you.
From my personal experience,people have given me anything from in-depth guides on how to kill myself to genuinely helpful advice when I've gone there for help on coping with my dysthymia.
