They usually devolve into blogshit because clothing is a rather personal topic. Inevitably some guy will come in going "ha, who wears graphic tees" and/or "what kind of faggot wears anime shirts in public" and the thread devolves into /fa/ and personal opinions shitflinging real fast. Blogshit (that is, talking about yourself and real-life shit) is not anime or manga.
Also /a/ espouses (or at least used to) hiding your powerlevel in public and clothing is basically the opposite of that.
