/film/ - Film and movies
/tv/ - Television
Two boards. Split them up. Having TV and films in one board is utterly arbitrary.
/film/ existed though.

Just call it /film/ - Movies. No need to make a distinction. They are the same fucking thing.
This call for a distinction is driven by people upset about superhero movies. Which means a board to split the thing up would do no good for anyone.
There're startlingly few Television threads on /tv/, these days. Hell, I use to do daily Star Trek Voyager threads, for like a year. Years ago. Now, you get sparsely populated generals that fizzle away, nearly unseen, and then Game of Thrones Generals, which trash that they are, contain themselves.
What would this Film Board do?
If I say "it'll still have Star Wars and Marvel threads" you'll say "Those aren't films," right?
just give /tv/ better moderation
Just autoban anything remotely bane related.

They could call it...autobane.

>just give /tv/ better moderation
Films and tv are both really popular and there is just not enough space on a 10 page board for BOTH. Whenever a new blockbuster comes out it dominates the board for a week or two.
/tv/ and /film/ need liebenstraum.
/tv/ is so overrun with shitposting does splitting the board even matter at this point?

It's a lot harder to shitpost on two boards at once, so yes. Makes it more manageable for the mods.
