Please stop trying to evaluate how 'good' or 'quality' 4chan and board are through silly objective lens.
Thank you.
Your thread is low quality. This is evident by your OP gif of an airing show, which suggests you're a crossposter from offsite. If that gif were /a/ OC, it would be webm. But instead you post some tumblr or other OC. You're pathetic.
>>521521
Unfortunately for you, you are wrong. These are right from an airing thread and still have the original filename. You should of did a archive check first before spouting shit.
I like you, OP.

Whoever posted it originally got it from somewhere other than /a/. If it were OC, they'd make a webm, because it's trivial. You're in the wrong for saving a shitty gif in the first place.

VP8 blows gif out of the water. Gifs shouldn't even be made anymore, they're depreciated. Only retards from tumblr still haven't caught on.

It's not my fault people decided to do their edits as gifs and were too lazy to do them as webm.
>>521544
My browser doesn't loop webms how do I fix

Two reasons for this:
Tumblr doesn't allow webms.
Tumblr's gif filesize limit is still painfully small.
Now post more Miyano.
>>521544
There's a lot of things that VP8/VP9 should be used for. Making a video out of 10 piss-ass frames is not one of them.
>>523537
Animated gifs basically are videos with shit compression. If a different encoding has a smaller filesize for the same effect then how the hell is that not better?
>>523545
First of all, GIFs are not a video format so you can stop comparing them. They were made for simple infographics and web page decorations. VP8 is the long needed video format, that's a given.
Having this new video format doesn't excuse the lazy shits who capture a quarter-second of content and call it an improvement, because there's fucking nothing that's captured in a quarter second that can't also be captured in a single image. If you want to go the "smaller filesize" route, a single image has a much lower filesize than any video and carries the same information.
Either make a legitimate video that makes the most out of VP8, or use a single image. Making a video out of 10 frames is no different than the Tumblr shits who make a GIF comic just for cheap rain effects that add nothing.

>VP8
>not VP9 and soon VP10
>>521521
Dumb weeb. Making a fucking webm for something that lasts 2 seconds? Insanity, as expected of a weeb.
>>521544
I am too lazy to make webms, and when I actually do try to make webms, they always have sound, and then cannot be posted on most 4chan-boards. Thus, I download gifs and webms that are posted on 4chan, and just repost them again.
>>523561
>Making a video out of 10 frames is no different than the Tumblr shits who make a GIF
But it is. Webm is drastically smaller in filesize with greater quality. It's also easier and more versatile to edit from source as opposed gif from source. There's no reason why short webm can't be substituted for images.
>>523594
lmao, i be your salty because your shitty mobile can't even play webm files.
>>521544
you mean deprecated?
>webm should be used for 2 second gifs
why is 4chan the only imageboard retarded enough to believe this shit? Moot's a fucking muppet for trying to meme webm into becoming the new gif rather than just adding global audio support and using the format as it was intended to be.
>>524044
...Did you put three of the shittiest groups possible in the filename just to trigger people?
