/g/ is the neglected child of 4chan at the moment. I think most of that comes from the mods not really understanding the subject matter and allowing a lot of shitposts to get through because on the surface they look tech-y enough.
So let's list the types of threads that should be deleted on site by the mod team.
I'll start

Literally 2 or 3 threads about this subject are up every single hour of the day. There's nothing to be said about it. It's only the same rehashed arguments over and over and over and most of it is shitposting on the order of "BANE?" type threads on /tv/.

I agree about desktop threads, even limited to one general. The quality of content produced there is extremely low and should be relegated to /b/.
Tech support and feminism threads should be evaluated on a case by case basis. Some tech support is not easily solved through google and /g/ may be interested in the answer. Feminism is a current topic in the tech world so there will be threads about it from time to time.
Linux trolling I agree on the types of threads you've mentioned.
Anime has been embedded in 4chan culture since its inception and it's silly to expect not to see it on every single board.
