Should I just cave in and get a reddit account?

Seems like nobody even cares at this point, and I wouldn't mind posting on the_donald or something.
>>
>>519966
Go back to 4chan
>>
It literally doesn't matter
>>
>>519966
If youre seriously languishing over site allegiance, you need to stay off the internet for a while and go outside.
>>
I have a reddit account on every internet capable machine I own. I upvote my own opinions. You dont need an email to register
>>
>>519970
I just don't want to be associated with the reddit crowd.

I fucking hate nu-male type shitheads who think they've seen it all, but reddit is home to useful information sometimes.
>>
>>519973
The irony in this post is palpable. Go fuck yourself OP. Do whatever you want. I'm sure the dumasses at the_Donald would be glad to have you.
>>
>>519973
Why does it matter? So what, a bunch of anons say reddit is bad. Boohoo.

Only you should decide if you want to visit reddit. Sometimes there's stuff on it you'll like (specific subs, whatever). Point is, don't listen to us.
>>
>>519966
I literally know nothing about reddit except that it has accounts, users make their own boards, and it has some upvote/downvote thing.
I don't plan to learn anymore.
>>
>>519966
If you are a /pol/fag go for it. Most of /pol/ is reddit anyway, you don't need to worry about ruining it anymore.
>>
>falling for the reddit is shit meme
Are you stupid? Do you really like seeing the same shit posted on 4chan every day?
>>
>>519977
OP's stance is retarded but there's nothing wrong with Trump.
>>
>>519973
Oh ok. This is a bait thread. Carry on then.
>>
>>519966
Nope, it's not worth. I got on reddit on 2010 or so and it wasn't terrible but the quality (of the front anyway) went downhill after 2012 after obama won reelection. Not sure why but it just seemed dumber around 2012.
After 2013 I left and I don't plan on coming back.
It honestly just seems like a gigantic leftist circlejerk pandering to the jokes that the most number of people get (and subsequently get upvoted)

Reddit actually used to be pretty good in 2010 but went down like you said after Obama's reelection

The worst part about reddit is the users think they're smarter than users of every other aite but they're literally antisocial facebook with a dislike button

The front page used to be kinda cool now it's facebook reposts and looks like those tabloid magazines you find in the WalMart checkout isle

just burn that website down already, it's like 4chan it gets worse every year but at an accelerated pace
>>
>>520028
Parroting back what I stated isn't proving me wrong, you know?

I'm the dude you responded to, and eh...we probably disagree on much, much more than just Trump. I'll leave it at that.

I use reddit btw. And im not going anywhere.

That is some top tier projecting you have there. Here's a (you). Please kill yourself.

and this wasn't projecting? >>520141
But I suppose it's ok when you do it?

Do you even realize how much a faggot you sound right now? Seriously look at your posts. You've been hostile right from your first post, what kind of responses do you think you're going to get?

As expected of reddit trash I suppose.

Yeah, go there and never come back, cancerous karma whore.

I got a Reddit account, yet I fucking hate the majority of stuff that gets posted there. It's good for niche things, like specific subreddits devoted to series you like or AskHistorians.

The problem comes from the default sites, like Movies or Television. That's where your big circlejerky things come into play. And country-specific subreddits tend to become echo chambers of political news pertaining to that country (Australia being the one I frequent), which makes for a really toxic community.

/r/4chan is also a hole of a subreddit. The people that comment on /r/4chan are people too afraid to actually come to 4chan, and honestly believe that 'wew lad' is something that people say all the time here, or other phrases such as 'kljasd' and 'that's so computers,' which I've never heard anyone say here.
>>
Reddit is shit. I fell for the meme saying small subs are good. In fact they're just slow and dead.
>>
>>519973
Reddit communities vary greatly. Honestly who gives a fuck?
>>
>>520431
>It's good for niche things, like specific subreddits devoted to series you like or AskHistorians.
This is literally what reddit should be used for. It is it's intended purpose.

>The problem comes from the default sites, like Movies or Television. That's where your big circlejerky things come into play.
Speaking as unbiased as possible, are 4chan's /tv/, /v/, /mu/, etc not exactly like this as well? 4chan can be just as circlejerky most of the time. You may not be able to be downvoted for saying something against the grain here, but being repeatedly called a faggot is pretty much the same thing.

/r/4chan is the most cancerous shit in the world regardless. Literally newer newfags than /b/.
>>
>>520438
>This is literally what reddit should be used for. It is it's intended purpose.
I meant in contrast to the default subreddits, the 'content aggregate' side of Reddit.

I disagree that being called a faggot is the same thing. I think a lack of an upvote/downvote system and relative anonymity (provided you aren't a namefag or a tripfag) goes a long way towards people actually saying how they actually feel towards something, like saying they didn't like Breaking Bad. On Reddit, people would be afraid of saying that for fear of being brigaded and losing imaginary internet points.
>>
>>520445
The vast, vast majority of people on reddit don't care about they're karma. I have literally never said anything other than my true opinion, regardless of whether I was going against popular opinion. You'd be surprised how little people will downvote you for that. What reddit doesn't like, and what will get you downvoted to hell, is people needlessly being dicks, and that's fine. There's no reason anyone can't state they're opinion without resorting to being unnecessarily rude. I'm not saying it should be a hugbox. It's just them attempting to have a standard of civility in discourse.
>>
Yep, Reddit for real discussion and 4chan for taking the piss.
>>
>>520446
>care about they are karma.

*their
>>
>>520449
I hope this is bait.
>>
>>520480
Not that anon, but I don't have a problem seeing what he said as completely true. 99% of what I see on 4chan is shitposting and poor attempts at trolling. I actually think users here have some strange aversion to legitimately talking about things.
>>
>>520487
It's attitudes like his and yours that cause that, though.
>>
>>520480
Posting "I hope this is bait" in response to the most obvious bait of all time still qualifies as taking the bait, you know. You are quite possibly the biggest idiot on this site.
>>
>>520487
I don't think it's an aversion so much as an inability
>>
>>520492
I know. This is a reddit thread, though, and I'm certain some people really hold that opinion, so I wanted to show that I disrespected his potentially real opinion in my post.
>>
>>520490
How so exactly? I don't shitpost, nor do I ever try to bait anyone.
>>
>>520449
What's with this mentality everyone has that everything is either "quality discussion" or "shit"?

I really think 4chan is best when just used to have fun with.
Try going to boards that are more hobbyist and see what the difference is.

You can still have good discussions on 4chan, but good discussions I think usually occur in places where people don't go specifically to look for good discussion. It's good when it just pops up on a board and people discuss it.
I think all the most acidic mentalities concentrate on boards like /pol/ or /int/ where they just go there specifically to debate and argue or to try and force their opinion on people.

I go very close to everywhere on this site anon. Very rarely does this happen. Very, very rarely. I'm not saying that funposting is bad or that super serious discussion is always good, but it just seems like most posts here are someone trying to get a rise out of someone else in some way or another, and that they're not actually invested in the topic.
>>
>>520480
>>520500
>state an opinion that doesn't fall in line with the hivemind
>REDDIT
>BAIT

Do the same thing on Reddit and you might get downvoted but there is a high chance someone replies with a well thought out argument as to why they disagree.

And that is the fundamental difference as to why 4chan is not to be taken seriously.
>>
>>520502
If you can think for yourself it really doesn't matter all that much.

and I'm sure that people who have the _correct_ understanding of something get downvoted all the time on reddit too because it's not something people want to hear.

At least on 4chan everyone has an equal say.
Insults are not a substitute for up/down-votes. Some people treat it that way, but they never will be. There's plenty of people who will read your comment and think you've made a good point without saying anything. Just because you get a couple hostile assholes responding to you don't mean that everyone else doesn't also realize that they're being idiots.
>>
>>520506
>At least on 4chan everyone has an equal say.
On 4chan everyone gets a say proportional to how loud, persistent, or autistic they are.
>>
>>520513
This. There's only so many times I'm going to read a response to something i wrote out that turns out to be just an insult or meme response before I give up on the conversation.

Only on 4chan can simply calling someone a faggot be considered a triumph.
>>
>>520513
No they don't. Even if they post 5x more than anyone else do you honestly think those comments are swaying anyone's views on an issue?

Take this post for example: >>520502
Say you saw those kinds of comments on reddit voted to the top. Would you say to yourself "huh, I guess this guy must have a pretty valid argument there" or would you say "how the fuck did this garbage get voted to the top?"

People don't need votes to tell them their opinions. All it does is prevent you from seeing alternative sides of things.
>>
>>520515
>Only on 4chan can simply calling someone a faggot be considered a triumph.
What on earth makes you think those comments triumph?
>>
>>520517
There really isn't anything worthwhile to respond to something like that. It feels like a grown adult talking down to a toddler, and as such they usually have the last word. I know that isn't indicative of winning but I can't help but feel that sad individual's smugness at the outcome.
>>
>>520515
Yep, I've seen threads completely destroyed by IRC trolls on /a/, just through sheer numbers.

That shit doesn't fly on Reddit.
>>
>>520517
All it takes to demolish a thread (that isn't a super fast thread with hundreds of people in it) is two dedicated autistic fucks harping on about something.

One if he's REAL autistic but those are kind of rare.
>>
>>519966
I have never signed up for reddit, but if you do make it a throw away account if you can't be nice
>>
>>520543
I don't see why people find it so hard to state their differing opinions without being an asshole. I've literally never been rude to anyone on the internet. I really isn't hard.
>>
>>520544
theres always anons on the edgy of being offended though their own action and even go looking for it

I would love to know why some posters like to rage and then seek the opposite "the high" one /qa/uck tried to explain it a month or so ago but gave up

I took muh bi-polar with a lack of short term regret and a carefree shitposting compulsion
>>
>>520553
I barely comprehended a single thing you just typed, and I'm quite assured it was no fault of mine.

I certainly wouldn't vote on the feminazi traitor Hillary or the commie Bernie. Plus Trump already won the Republican elections simply because the others quit.

>lots of shit for brains occupy the internet
