There is this spreading mentality facilitated by inaction to stop places like /tv/ and /int/ from becoming what they have, that it's not just a choice to shitpost, but that it's literally all some people are here to do AND they think it is the only thing they should do here.
Every time you let faggots spew such edgy subversive garbage as "justification" for their acting permanently like 12 year olds, and no one calls them out as being useless shits and no one deletes or bans them for openly flaunting global rules as their very fucking ethos, you are actively decaying the site.
It wasn't always fucking like this. Newfags who only have a distorted, caricature-like interpretation of 4chan, who consider themselves redditors and twitter users who won't even entertain the thought of taking any discussion on this site seriously, are forcing in this "4chan is just for shitposting" mentality and see the utter inaction against their shitting up /int/ (which was a good board years back) as complicity.
Bans don't fix bad edgy traits, shaming does.
What you can do is remind these self-deluded wastes that globals exist and the silent majority of users finds those utter tools to not be funny or fun: They are just lame and disruptive cancer. Years back such cancer was generally on /b/ but now is just all over the site. /b/ didn't leak per se, but it now failing to contain this juvenile behavior makes it rain down onto parts of the site meant to actually have discussion by people who care about the topics.
If people don't want to participate in boards and just shitpost, remind them they are the biggest losers of all for spending time on a place they don't even like.
Users, mods, fucking grow balls and stand up to this "4chan is just for shitposting lel" cancer. That was not a common phrase even a year ago and now I hear it every day. Letting people say it unchallenged makes them think they're right. They are the odd ones out for not caring about even trying to use the site.
