So what's the problem of not simply deleting /mlp/ and allowing them to go back to /co/
>>
/mlp/ exists simply because the amount of pony posts on /co/ meant that people who had no intrest were being flooded with pony shit that they didn't like. If we undid that, /co/ would be 90% ponies and 10% of people complaining about it.
>tl;dr
/co/ complains too much for that to ever happen.
>>
People are stupid and there will always be autistic loud fanbases and anons who will complain about it no matter what. Not allowing /co/ to talk about cartoons on a cartoon board is the stupidest thing Moot has ever done. Hiro can undo it but I doubt it will ever happen.
>>
>>513947

>/co/ complains too much for that to ever happen

That's because most of the posters on /co/ consists of fat women and gay people. I have been on /co/ for six years and it's sad to see this shit slowly change right before your very eyes and nobody believes it.
>>
>>513916

/co/ is full of normies and cucked males. Only /co/ considers liking 14 year old fictional female characters "sick pedophiles". Also they seem to use bait and /pol/ is attacking me meme where it doesn't make sense.
>>
The same reasons why you don't have the furries on /aco/.
>>
>>514128

A huge bias? I agree.
>>
It's too easy to troll people with. If the floodgates were opened, ponythreads would be everywhere. Not because there's that many real ponyfags, but because a ton of people are triggered by it.
There's no reason to undo GR15, and there's at least one good reason to never undo GR15.
>>
Too many people are still getting up in arms over it. And by "people" I mean one really dedicated IP-changing faggot. Everyone else talked too much shit over the years to back down and admit that they maybe kinda might have over-reacted a little tiny teensy weensy bit.

And if it's disastrous and /co/ gets disastrously flooded with pony shit? Good, fuck 'em. They pushed so hard to get them off the board that nobody ever dared to say anything positive about another cartoon, or else they'd end up as "the next MLP." Now the board is saturated with the most ignorant nostalgiafag pieces of shit that absolutely hate anything relating to cartoons, often just making trivial shit up to be upset about. And now if you go over there and say in plain text that you unironically like a cartoon, they respond back with venom like you're the retard.

And the irony is that more people have been spamming Avatar threads up and down /co/ for even longer, but not a single thing has ever been done about it. Let them merge with the ponies, these faggots deserve each other.
>>
>>514118
/co/ bans pretty much everything that gets wildly popular, because they all have to be /co/ntrarian faggots.
>>
>>513916
Its pretty much banned sitewide, even reaction images are grounds for a ban.

At the moment it's still too popular so it needs robe this way
>>
>>514125
Youre a fucking faggot, dude.
>>
>>514694

Sup, mod. Jerk it to gay porn and had a hotpocket today?
>>
>>514291

Not to mention that you-know-who has said that he'd DDoS the site if GR15 is dropped.

>B-but he said...

It was all a lie, he deceived you.
>>
>>515692
Provide proof
>>
>>514125
/co/ has been badly affected by mods in recent years. I don't know if it's still the case but for a while you would get instabanned for saying nigger on /co/, and I think it even extended into getting banned for calling someone a faggot. If that isn't tumblr P.C censoring I don't know what is. Those policies encouraged hamplanets and their numale orbiters to take up shop and cartoons like Steven Universe game them excuses to stay. Girls from tumblr might like MLP but detest bronies for fapping to them so they would really not like to deal with them back on /co/, and again the whiteknight pipsqueaks would automatically side with them.

/co/ perhaps changed too much to have /mlp/'s user base successfully reintegrated.
>>
>>513916
Because nobody actually likes bronies
>>
>>515714
seconding this
>>
>>515713
You also can get banned for talking shit about tumblr. Speak praise of tumblr however, and they will leave you alone. Their bias level is almost unreal; what a joke.
>>
>>515714
You could say that about anyone, really.
>>
>>517668
Except hot teenage sluts
>>
>>514291
/pol/ and anti/pol/shit shitposting is bigger than anything /mlp/ ever was., both on 4chan and the internet. So why are rainbow horses banned but /pol//anti/pol/shit is allowed to be spammed on virtually every board?
>>
>>514296
>. I am sorry to tell you this but /co/ caught the /v/tards. Highly depressed individuals with a broken sense of themself and reality. So far there is no cure for this desease, it will only get worse from here on.
>>
>>517763
/pol/ is technically not allowed to spam its shit outside of /pol/, but people are so used to it that they don't report most of the time
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link
>>
>>517763
Found the Jew.
>>
>>517763
Because it's harder to quantify when /pol/shit is posted.
>>
>>517766
This, when /co/ got rid of /mlp/, they got rid of actual comic and cartoon fans believe it or not
>>
>>513916
People like barneyfag would lose their minds, and /mlp/ has had too long to spread out for it to be able to share space with another board.

If moot had never split the boards things would have been fine, but the time for reunification passed years ago.
>>
>>513916
I think /mlp/ has too much traffic to just merge with /co/. To many different threads and greentext generals would kill discussion on /co/. I would, however, like to post pony reaction images outside of the board.
>>
>>514296
>They pushed so hard to get them off the board
>>514667
>/co/ bans pretty much everything that gets wildly popular,

this is completely wrong you utter faggot. Here's how it actually went down

>people see that Lauren Faust, an animator known for working on good shows, is working on a new show
>watch it
>they like it. for the next few episodes people start talking about the irony of watching a little girls' show. The term "brony" is invented
>people on boards like /b/ and /v/ have a fucking meltdown over a little girls' show being mentioned
>trolls, knowing they can whip these people into a fervor really easily, start trolling people with ponies
>people get madder, and trolls troll harder. eventually posting one pony can derail entire threads.
>on /co/, pony threads are limited to a single general. Things even out.
>the people who now hate ponies begin spamming /co/ with generals to try and disrupt the real general and get it deleted
>somebody on irc tells moot that if he makes a pony board, ponies will die out, since there will be no feedback loop
>he does, and purges ponies from the entire site
>now the ponyfags feel alienated persecuted, so they start banding together in solidarity
>With nobody to keep them in check, the particularly autistic ponyfags start popping up
>then you start getting the modern brony

Afterwards, /co/ was deathly afraid of any other fandom blowing up, since My Little Pony took /co/ from a niche board to a sitewide warzone. Anything that sprung up, like Homestuck or Steven Universe, is either outright banned or heavily policed.
>>
>>515713
>nigger
I can confirm this happens all the time.
>>
>>513916
why go back to /co?/ Its the most cucked board on 4chan, and every mod at /co/ is a fucking faggot rulecuck
>>
>>515718
>>515713

Also, I've seen threads devolve into shitslinging about "neckbeard rape culture" and be completely left alone, but don't you DARE say the opposite or you'll eat a 3-Day ban
>>
>>519416

I believe it. I got banned just for saying that Calarts is bad.
>>
>>519475
>It would be like the relationship between /vp/ and /v/.

That's the rub though, isn't it? Pokemon fans never did anything to make themselves hated.

You can change a rule; you can't change people's opinions of you.
>>
It would make /co/ better if it was done, that's for sure.
>>
>>>/mlp/27261339

lol
all this fixation on Barneyfag
>>
>>519509
He's a fascinating creature
>>
>>519518
Not to anyone else but bronies

Doesn't bode well for bronies getting along with the rest of the site
>>
>>519537
Well he's known all over the site, so it's more than just "bronies"
>>
>>519558
So why do only bronies have a huge thread about him?
>>
>>519559
Not sure, maybe they like to fuck with people like everyone else in this site
>>
>>519566
It comes off more like you're in a serious battle of wills with a special ed student
>>
>>519567
I think he's fucking around and it's all le epic shitpost...still fun to watch
>>
>>519139
No it's not. There are very easy to notice buzwords for every /pol/ post. Even easier, real life poltics don't belong on every board except /pol/ and /b/.
>>
>>519416
>>515718
>>519414
>Things that never happened
>>
>>519567
Which shows how butthurt /mlp/fags are if they're butthurt over ONE GUY
>>
>>520779
right because /v/ just loves his shitposting.
>>
>>519569
Back to your containment board.
>>
Why not just ban MLP fags period?
>>
>>523329
That would be a good idea.
But then this site would lose quite a bit of traffic, and apparently Gook doesn't want that.
>>
>>523329
Because we run this shit. /)
>>
>>524377
>quite a bit of traffic
MLP is pretty small these days, and about 95% of the board doesn't directly talk about the show but instead their myriad fanfics based off it. In other words nothing of value would be lost. However banning them site-wide outright could trigger their autism and they'd be shitposting everywhere sort of like r9k did when it was gone, but worse.

I think perhaps eventually (like after the current generation of show ends) /mlp/ could remerge into /co/ but only strictly as show discussion, so they'd have like one or two threads max, and the fanfic shit would just go to /trash/ where it belongs.
>>
>>523303
After you sweetums
>>
>>513916
What's the potential advantage of deleting /mlp/ and allowing them back into /co/?
None.
If you like ponies, you have a place where you can discuss them completely unperturbed by anyone else. It's a safe haven, where like-minded people discuss their common interest. There is no positive gain from disturbing the state /mlp/.
>>
>>524893
Exactly. Best solution would be to keep /mlp/ but allow images to be posted on other boards.
>>
>>513916
At this point /mlp/s existence has made pony content get produced so fast that it would spam /co/ to the level people pretend it did when it first came out.

That said that would really only last a few months
>>
>>515713
Well /mlp/s moderation has gone to total shit the last month or so but I guess it's gone to shit in a completely difrent way
>>
>>524893
It's not about /mlp/ it's about /co/ a lot of threads on /co/ involve comparing shows and there are frequent situations where mlp would be relevent but you have to ignore it
>>
>>525879
That's why it needs to be like the relationship between /v/ and /vp/.
>>
>>524415
Or just keep /mlp/ for general discussion since they already have a culture of their own.
