So what's the problem of not simply deleting /mlp/ and allowing them to go back to /co/
/mlp/ exists simply because the amount of pony posts on /co/ meant that people who had no intrest were being flooded with pony shit that they didn't like. If we undid that, /co/ would be 90% ponies and 10% of people complaining about it.

MLP is pretty small these days, and about 95% of the board doesn't directly talk about the show but instead their myriad fanfics based off it. In other words nothing of value would be lost. However banning them site-wide outright could trigger their autism and they'd be shitposting everywhere sort of like r9k did when it was gone, but worse.
I think perhaps eventually (like after the current generation of show ends) /mlp/ could remerge into /co/ but only strictly as show discussion, so they'd have like one or two threads max, and the fanfic shit would just go to /trash/ where it belongs.
