I took it as writ that if you see a poorly compressed JPEG of something people like, you should do your best to track down the original and remake the image OR to just outright redraw the image.
This was not some effort to create the perfect may-may, but to this day, things I reproduced are posted consistently.
Hell, if we're just going on "an image macro is a meme" logic, there are quite a few that still get posted that were not created with any mind for longevity. 10 years down the line, they are still reposted.
When /co/ was a hothouse for memery, I accidentally created a meme-fetish, that got incorporated into their female fetish OC character, whose name I forgot.

Way back in like 2006, I posted some Advice Dog image macros I made on /b/, not knowing that what was at the time still a pretty new and funny concept would become the template for the cancer that is advice animals.
Do I consider myself a co-creator of the meme? Not really, but I guess I helped spread it to some extent. Whether or not that's something to be happy about is a different story.
I made a gif that someone considered good enough to slap it on a banner, I'm quite proud of that.

on /sp/ I made a copypasta that is positive about a team that I don't even like. that team had one tripfag that nobody likes but after I made it it got posted so much in a week that most people hate that team now. it doesn't get posted anymore but I turned that fanbase into shitposters.
also there were some reaction images that would always get spammed in a thread so I got really drunk one night and drew them by hand and some people still post them.
oh and I guess I post my cats sometimes on /sp/ and two different fan bases in two different sports have claimed them as their teams cats and they get posted still. its kind of weird.
