/b/ is now an irrelevant, 9gag-tier cesspool for kids and summerfriends. The banana was the only good thing they produced in the last two more years.
/pol/ is entertaining, fun, has its own culture and produces memes, and has basically the same qualities as /b/ from its period of fame. It's actually a pretty good board. Most of the crossposters are some of the worst scum on 4chan, so I get why people sonetimes don't like /pol/, but the board itself is great.
