They haven't had any real influence outside of their legacy containment boards for a decade or more. The couple of weeb mods there are make it worse by coddling them, which gives them an inflated ego and makes other non-weeb boards hate them even more. I wouldn't call that 'influence' though.

I came to 4chan (starting in /b/) in 2006. Other than a few raids way back when, I've never been to /a/ or any of the anime boards. I don't mind anime stuff but I'm just not interested nor care about anime at all.

No one knows the real numbers outside of 4chan staff. Even post rates on various scrapers are only an approximation (as close as we can see at least), because nothing can see or show lurkers, and different boards have very different inclinations in their user bases towards lurking vs posting.
