Help me understand this: when I open 4chan content (images, webm) in a new tab, and choose to save, it saves the content as something like 1386915075248.jpg, as opposed to the orginal file name. I've been saving images and stuff from 4chan over the years, but all the images are saved under that terribly boring and useless file name system. Is there a workaround here - a way to save the content with it's original file name intact? I'm going to make it extra difficult for you and say I don't want to use any special mechanisms to save the image - I want to open it the same way, and save it the same way. But maybe there's a script that can be implemented, if it isn't already?

It's a unix timestamp, silly, it is far from boring and useless.
Those filenames are unix timecodes. They include miliseconds.

Let me translate for you:

Also, right nowish the unix time is:
1458492427

>being so fucking lazy you can't manually name a file
>see picture
>read filename
>ha, that's pretty funny
>I think I'll save it
>right click
>save
>Save As window opens up
>type filename in the filename box
>hit enter
Wow, that was difficult.

This, there's an add-on for it. Everyone else saying "hurr ur lazy" and "just type the filename tee hee" is just wasting your time. The OPTION IS OUT THERE. That's all that matters.

It's in the post menu.

It's not here.
I'm very happy to have discovered the feature that allows you to change CAPTCHA to V1 however.

Much appreciated.
