Why don't mods and janitors come down harder on obvious shitposting and bait threads? Are the janitors that are hired even evaluated at all to discuss how much they know about their homeboard and what is and isn't shitposting?
Seriously people start threads with rhetorical arguments and loaded statements such as the absolutely cringeworthy "worst girl" threads and "What is the best X Y and why is it Z?" Threads.
Discussion isn't even a thing in those threads. I would even go as far to say that threads like that put us on the same level as Reddit with their "Upvote and Downvote" system. Allowing people to shitpost is allowing stagnation of conversation and community the same as Upvoting and putting something that the community agrees with the most at the top of the page is allowing circlejerking and stagnation of community.
Examples of what I'm talking about that are on /v/ RIGHT NOW not being removed :
>X is the best Y, prove me wrong
>Bait Copypasta
>Why do we hate X again?
>Why is this allowed (with no other context)
>What did he mean by this
>HAHAHAHAHA
>X on Suicide Watch
I've used this site for over 10 years now and I've seen it go through some changes. But I've got to admit, obvious troll topics (Which have been renamed bait) and the amount of shitposting the community can get away with is awful.

Check out this fucking lame ass person.
>I've used this site for over 10 years now
>still goes on /v/ and gets upset at shit-tier troll threads
>>471600
I don't think I would describe myself as upset as much as I just feel let down by the people who should be moderating the forums. I feel like no actual discussion gets done because these troll threads are allowed to be posted with impunity.
I'm of the opinion that the only reason we even have sub-boards like /vr/ and /vg/ is because the janitors can't or won't do their job properly for some reason.

Real talk.
Try another website. Maybe Reddit or tumblr is more up your alley.
>>471608
Real talk, I've considered going to another website. I'm far more partial to actual old school forums and whatnot. But Reddit is created with the idea of cultural stagnation as I explained and Tumblr has a terrible community and also isn't a forum in the least bit.
If you don't mind though, real talk, what forum has the best community on the internet where you can discuss a wide variety of topics?

There's a few mistakes I'd jump from
>>471680
>take the beam from a futures lost lots of minds

Mrs. My balls sweat
>>471678
>someone was actually mad enough to make this
>>471711
There there.
OP here, I wish mods and Hiroyuki would frequently this board more. I feel like we might actually be able to make some changes.
you care so much and yet you're so wrong on so many levels
you sicken me
>>471699
>mad enough
>it takes gargantuan amounts of effort to make such a really quite obvious response image

>>471600
Seriously, it's hilarious how almost every single person who claims to have been on the site for a long time seems to have a newfag mentality.
I know it's /v/ but:
>boss has big penis
>he hits you with it
Aka Shitty Greentext Premise Threads (TM)
This kind of shit needs to be instagibbed.
Did this stupid thing start on /co/ or something, because I can't help but notice the preponderance of western cartoon images posted along with it
>>472264
i really have no idea where le shigpig came from
>>471600
Who the fuck even goes to /v/ after being here for a decade? The only boards I ever visit anymore are this one and /diy/ and /f/
>>472264
More examples
Complete shit
Just noise
>>472298
What the fuck? Why is it a problem that JRPG style epic music kicks in? Isn't that the whole point? I think I'd be disappointed if the final boss didn't have epic music.

You can't say this isn't epic.
>>472301
I think these faggots will just say anything for a reply.
I suspect the same losers who say things like "Here's your you" are the ones who create these banal threads for any sliver of attention they can get.
>>472302
That would make a lot of sense. They really do not seem to have anything better to do with their time.
>>472252
They'd delete more posts than anything else.
>>472302
I don't really understand /v/'s retarded reasoning sometimes.
If something is "obvious bait" and is fishing for replies, /v/ won't ignore it but will instead flood it with "(you" and "this is bait" images.
It boggles the mind.
I don't envy the mods that need to babysit the children in this board.
>>472302
Someone posting on /v/ with an Undertale image is just looking for replies? Stop the fucking presses.
>>471596
>X is the best Y, prove me wrong
>Bait Copypasta
>Why do we hate X again?
>Why is this allowed (with no other context)

Wow,it's hilarious how /a/ and /v/ are pretty much the same shit

Could mods knock off a few of these kinds of threads?

>Could mods knock off a few of these kinds of threads?
Couldn't you just hide the threads you don't like instead?
>>472396
And here is the reason 4chan is going to shit
>who cares if something is problem and consuming a board just hide it
>>472374
I feel like starting this meme with "It's a" only started happening recently, due to /tv/. I'm not sure when exactly it started, but people used to be content to leave those words out.
>>472421
It's been on /tv/ for ages, it was just about TV shows (e.g. "It's a flashback episode") but suddenly took off for some reason.
>>472425
So basically /tv/ has infected the rest of the site with it.
>>471596
>Why don't mods and janitors come down harder on obvious shitposting and bait threads?
because they are the ones who make them

OP here
>>472254
Probably right. It's just the amount of investment and the amount of return seems off.
>>472262
Let me try one of these new memes
>Found the newfag
Tell me I'm not shitposting by doing that.
>>472266
After getting used to reading through it it's not that bad anymore, like looking at a whole bunch of liars and just being able to tell who the ones telling the truth are.
>>472301
This
>>472302
>>472321
That is just fine with me.
>>472344
Yeah, ignoring trolling has become an issue all across 4chan. You used to be able to go to /tg/ and be pretty sure people would ignore obvious troll threads, but now they've started having threads like >>472298
>>472359
Most boards are
>>472396
Because it's consuming board space.
>>472421
Is /tv/ your homeboard?
>>472425
In my experience it's mainly because baneposting was invented there.
