/v/ is a wasteland of stupidity. Obviously you have people who try to be career trolls and shitposters. You've got hundreds (thousands?) of people who will quickly reply to (and even search for) a shitpost, troll, or porn thread. You've got people who will respond to a thread with nothing for hours, only so it doesn't die (like on /vg/), creating a cirlclejerk and pit of nondiscussion and shitposting. You've got people who think making threads about what you jerk off to is a great idea on /v/, when all it ever does is lead to lewd dumps of all kinds and isn't video game related outside of the (lewd) images of characters posted. You've got actual underage posting on /v/. You have people who try to post anything under the sun and then mention video games in the post, pretending it should be on /v/.

Filename threads are some of the most abhorrent and unfunny abominations I've ever seen.
Even disregarding the fact that it's more repetitive and stale than reading the same old magazines at your doctor's office the "jokes" themselves are pretty much just shitty 9gag-tier references and forced comparisons.
It just pretends to be on-topic when in reality it's just an excuse for people to dump their favorite epic gifs with some dumb title like "Dante from Devil May Cry shoots Mickey Mouse" or some shit.

They are this generation's demotivational posters. A couple really funny original file name jokes copied endlessly by unfunny kids, many of whom did not even really understand the jokes but just wanted to be a part of a meme. You look at filename threads and you see how many of them can't even be construed as jokes anymore.
A similar thing for /a/ is WEG threads. Most of the thread is reposts, the remainder is unfunny OC by people who don't understand the joke.
