how long until hirojewki proposes a final solution for the mods? They have trampled over this holy website for far too long at the behest of plebbitors and newshits.
They do not have the right to decide what grown adults can and cannot amongst communities they have inhabited for years.
>>466650
>can and cannot post*
pretty sure everyone that posts that hair shit is a faggot and underage
>>466654
I feel exactly the same way. Some images are always accompanied by text that obviously wasn't well thought out, by people who don't think things through all the way.
>>466650
>They do not have the right to decide what grown adults can and cannot amongst communities they have inhabited for years.
Actually yes they do.
Because they're mods.
And you're not a mod.
So, grow the fuck up.
>>466654
It's easily the worst excuse for a joke to have ever caught on here.
>>466650
>I'm an underaged shitposter and got banned!
>Waaaa it's not fair I'm a special snowflake!
Every day now on /qa/ .
>>466728
They are literal cuckolds because they allow greasy, hotpocket-munching fat fucks control what they can and can't post, see and read.
>>466728
Post one example where your post has been unfairly deleted and you have been banned. Go ahead, we're waiting.
>>466745
Every deletion is unfair (barring illegal shit) because imageboards shouldn't have moderation at all, dumb fuck. They're auto-pruning, everything is deleted in the end anyways. Hotpockets mess with the flow and make self-moderation impossible.
>>466650
The only way that inage could be any more presentive of cancerous newfag mentality would be if it was named image.png.
>>466650
>Grown adults
>Internet communities
>Getting this pissy about it
You can't make this shit up folks. This is what virginity you can't get rid of does to you. You become a bitchy woman.
>>466782
>self-moderation
>imageboards
Can someone explain this meme? How does self moderation work on a site with no accounts, no voting system, and the only barrier to entry is reCAPTCHA? Do you just keep saying mean things to the people you don't like and hope you get enough (You)s that agree with you?
>>466782
>no shitposting
>OMG THIS IS OPPRESSION
Spotted the newfag
EVERY board has always had moderation excluding the containment-boards.
The shitposting gets pruned.
Do you have an asthma attack every time the janitor deletes your meme threads?
Fuck the mods! Outlels rise!
>>466650
Fuck off, 4chan isn't about free speech or how you feel.
>>466922
>EVERY board has always had moderation excluding the containment-boards.
That doesn't mean I ever approved of it, but moderation is definitely worse than before. It's also been a slow spiral downward, with a few brave souls fighting to reverse the decay.
>>466742
What are you doing about it, BOY? Huh? Come on faggot. Act tough on the internet some more.
>>466650
Actually they do. You elected them when you took up residence in 4chan.
You can unelect them by taking up residence in Reddit, or 8gag, or Facebook, or Something Awful, or Pizza Hut Forums, or Gaia Online, or Lainchan, or Osuchan, or Youtube Comments, or Tumblr, or Disqus, or Digg, or Malibu Barbie Forums, or Rooster Teeth Forums, or Facepunch, or NeoGaf, or Deviantart, or MAKE YOUR OWN CHAN.
>>466782
If you want garbage go to /b/ or /trash/
>>467121
>The mods are less mature
I always wonder if this is true or not. I feel the same way about the janitors. Some things that should obviously be deleted, and get the poster banned, will stay up for many hours. I believe it's more of an issue with most of the userbase being very lazy, and simply not reporting anything other than the most extreme examples of rule breaking, like CP, extreme gore, less common/strange fetish porn, and very large, penis-in-frame porn dumps.
>>467342
>I believe it's more of an issue with most of the userbase being very lazy
Sometimes I see a thread deleted the same minute it was posted. Was it luck that a janny checked the catalog for once?
>>467275
>You elected them when you took up residence in 4chan.
That's now how electing works, buddy.
OFFICIAL ACTUAL CHANGES TO 4CHAN MADE BY /Q/TARDS POWER RANKINGS:
>>467351
new boards?
There's a lot of shitposting janitors itt.
But yeah, nut up and deal with it. Staff on this site are generally clichey dramawhores and mootles was the only remaining person who just wanted to make a fun website for anons. Hiroshima is clueless and the next few years are going to be painful.
>>467350
"Vote with your wallet" isn't really voting either. So?
>>467269
>That doesn't mean I ever approved of it
then why come here in the first place? maybe there's a different website that would suit you better.
its the way it has always been and its not your website so tough shit. the mods aren't going to cater to your specific needs.
>>468408
>its the way it has always been
Hi newfriend!
>>468887
ya, I can tell that you're new.
>>466872
Self-moderation works sometimes, if the faggot janitors aren't doing your jobs a few enterprising individuals can force the off-topic/shitposting thread to bump limit faster by posting as often as possible in it.
>>469363
>I've been here since Hiro opened 4chan!
If you've been around even longer than a year you'd know "it's the way it has always been" is a complete lie. Mods have always = fags but they've never been this hellbent on destruction as a cohesive unit. On single boards such as /tg/, sure, but never has it been such a sitewide siege as it is now. They're on a power trip and there's no admin to stop them as there was before. M00t may have stopped caring in the last few years of his run, but for the most part he kept the freebies in check.
>>469483
I'm not disputing that every board has had moderation, I'm saying that the moderation has never been so openly hostile, or so openly bad at their jobs, which is the same thing >>467269 was saying. Saying that moderation has always been this terrible is ludicrous if you would have been here long enough to actually know.
>>467269
>moderation is definitely worse than before
Care to give examples? Of course it's understandable that 4chan traffic is always growing and mods have a harder time deleting shitposts. But depending on the board, off-topic shitposts still do get deleted, eventually.
The mods can't force users to make good posts
>>466922
Nice thoughts but haikus have to be about nature, faggot.
>Mods aren't doing anything!
>They're doing a bad job!
>Mods are doing things!
>They're doing a bad job!
There isn't enough money and coordination to get a dream team going. I'd like them to to continue being as active as they have been recently. Mistakes will be made, but a lot of those "mistakes" are not actually mistakes, it's usually just a dummy who thinks everything they like should be allowed on every board they use.
>>466922
>EVERY board has always had moderation excluding the containment-boards.
>The shitposting gets pruned.
>>468408

>"it's the way it has always been" is a complete lie

Thats some nice backpedaling mate. If you were to follow the conversation back to >>466782
>Every deletion is unfair (barring illegal shit) because imageboards shouldn't have moderation at all
You would see that denying the fact that off-topic shitposting has always been moderated, is just plain incorrect. It's never been ok to spam black cock homosex images on /a/ or /lit/ or any sfw board, and defending that kind of shitposting is cancerous.
>>469511
>It's backpedaling to not argue something you never argued
I was arguing that "it's the way it has always been" is false when used as an argument against "moderation is definitely worse than before".
>>469508
If a mod does things that negatively impact a board, then yes, they're doing a worse job than if they did nothing.
Also, it'd be a lot easier to couut things as "mistakes" if the mods were willing/able to not only discuss shit with the board community, but also back up their decisions properly. Though, that wouldn't work with EVERY board (i.e. /v/), it should be doable on most.
>>469492
Back on /q/ there was a lot of mod complaining from the big boards, but nowdays you can look at /qa/ and see consistent threads mentioning even smaller boards. That the mods are so unwilling to interact with the communities in almost any instance is as damning as anything else.
>>469514
>nowdays you can look at /qa/ and see consistent threads mentioning even smaller boards.
Such as?
I got banned the other day for posting a "request" outside of /r/ or /wsr/
I posted some pics related to the board, hoping to simply start a thread with a certain theme to it, you know, like every other thread.
Technically a "request", but in that case, everything here is one... RequestChan everybody
Somehow mine was so different to the rest that it belonged on /r/
>>469516
/vp/ and /d/ are the ones i see constantly, as well as /tv/ if you still count it as small. /lgbt/ and /g/ get some every now and then as well.
>>469518
Should have made it a little more clear, since the way it's stated makes it sound a lot like you're saying both that it's always been moderated AND it's always been shit.
>>469514
>negatively impact a board
Sorry for a bit of confusion there. My opinions are directly and exclusively tied to my experiences on /v/. Aside from the CP poster who spams threads that should admittedly be deleted, it seems to be a bit better now than it was only a few months ago. The level of moderation on /v/ is noticeably closer to where it should be now, and I'm extremely thankful for that.
>>469593
I haven't been on /v/ in quite a while, i'd imagine it's still rough but if it's improved I should hit it back up sometime, thanks anon.
