Is there an actually good reason for threads to have an image limit?
If a thread hits image limit without hitting bump limit, people just make a new thread anyway. All it does is disrupt threads where people post lots of images, or kill conversation in threads which are beyond bump limit but not yet on Page 1*. It seems like a vestige of when people only had 400kB of RAM and couldn't handle more than 150 memes at once.

I wonder how much disk space the 4chan servers currently use and how old those drives are. As you probably know, hard drive space only gets cheaper as time goes on and they hold 2-10 TB each now.

We've actually had this thread before and had a Hiro reply. He couldn't figure out how to remove the image limit.
