Post ideas for board culture experiments.

I think it would be great if we switched the board communities around, maybe even combine them a bit. Say /tg/ switches with /vp/ and /co/ switches with /mlp/.
>How would this work.
relink the users trying to post on board A to board B and vice versa without looping infinitely.
Or just host subject B on board A without moving the users.
>>
>>464767
This wouldn't work. Maybe for an hour tops whilst people try to understand what's going on and then it'd just delve into shitposting
>>
Forms of moderating systems.
Anarchy A - Every OP is responsible for his own thread. He can moderate 1 thread at a time.
Anarchy B - Every anon has some form of power over one another.
Socialism - A poster may not make a thread or excessively bump unless he has fresh content ro post.
Fascism - The mods and janitors are allowed to do anything they want with the users and the boards they moderate over.
Monarchy - Only 1 true admin per board. No janitors and no report functions. Users may have a sticky thread for requesting things to the admin.
>>
>>464796
I like the system we have now.

Basically Fascism with gaps in coverage that create Temporary Autonomous Zones where anon does whatever they want until the mods are back to ruin the fun.

I feel it keeps 4chan both fresh, free, and controlled.
>>
>>464796
Everyday a wheel gets spun for every board and one of these moderation strategies is chosen to be the strategy for that day.
>>
>>464798
>live wheel spinning sticky
Oh god the memes. I would be there every day and worship the wheel as my God
>>
>>464796
>Socialism - A poster may not make a thread or excessively bump unless he has fresh content ro post.
>Fascism - The mods and janitors are allowed to do anything they want with the users and the boards they moderate over.
A rough combination of these two sounds great.
>>
I'm curious if 4chan would get better if we simply separated /b/ /v/ /pol/ into another chan. If perhaps we hid the rest of the boards and kept them away from reddit and facebook.

Instead /co/ /out/ /ani/ /toy/ /biz/ /diy/ /fa/ etc needs more sources of income(user income)
>>
>1UP
>>
>>465616
I miss that website.
>>
>>464767
>Say /tg/ switches with /vp/ and /co/ switches with /mlp/.

/co/ is already /mlp/ v.2 without ponyfucking. All the threads just revolve around few cn shows and avengers, while the other stuff gets shunned and ostracised by ignorant users. /co/ has a weird hostility towards anything that's not capestuff.

Board Date Night:

Once a month, two names are drawn from the lot of most of the Blue Boards. For one day (maybe longer?), those two boards are one and the same. I click /tv/ or /fit/ and get sent to /tv/-/fit/, a temporary board that is just those two boards, sharing space.

The impetus for this, to me, is when 4chan was a hothouse of new and interesting ideas, we didn't have 70 boards. This split up and Balkanization has quelled any drive to create TRULY NEW things. Everyone just says/does what the "board culture" expects. It's 70 petri dishes with nothing in them for anything to grow on.

Since the time-frame would be massively limited, people can't say that this would hurt moderation, and that the combined boards would just be a shit show (thought they rightly might be) because the moderators from both boards would have reign there. And Blue Boards are already the safe boards to begin with.

There is stagnation in the dank meme sciences.

>Post ideas for board culture experiments.
Bring back /l/ and permanently delete every board created after 2006.
>>
>>466176
kill yourself
>>
>>466168
So instead of switching jobs you want to combine them in the same house.
>>
>>466274
One day a week. Or month. Whichever I said.
>>
>>464767
These are not very good ideas.
>>
Emoji - board where you can only use emojis to post.
>>
>bump limit - every reply is autosage unless you write age into options field
>bump limit extra - same as bump limit + every IP is given limited amount of bumps, limits reset over time
>scaling bump - the more replies a thread gets, the more replies it takes to bump it (for example thread with 100 replies will take 10 non-sage replies to bump)

I can't think of anything creative that wouldn't sound totally stupid to me or already done.
>>
>>467586
That's more of a feature. I guess yeah that would be very useful for shitty generals. So people stop bumping every general and flooding the front page with it. Let the smaller threads survive.

As for my feature idea:
-Allow whispering to anons if you want to send private info like an email or paypal without all the fucks knowing about.
>>
Anonymous account registration.

I was thinking: what if registration forums went anonymous?
Been thinking of it for quite a while. The main reason to have one is for filtering out Reddit. Plus admins can keep track of users more easily.

To an extent users could see eachother's profiles to know their interests. And perhaps message eachother and create hidden threads where they only invite their friends.
But this part could be done by 2 months old cookies.
>>
>>464767
This seems more like a program for bronies to ingratiate themselves in other communities
>>
>>467467
This is good
>>
>>464796
Anarchy A is actually really good? Mods exist and can delete threads, but the threads that stay up are moderated by the OP. If someone doesn't like a thread they can go and make their own, as long as it's relevant to the board theme.

There goes the problem of the retarded janitors that abuse their power and the mods that give no shit.
>>
>>467586
Minibump- The thread will only be bumped up one page.
People might use it to post porn or CP without bringing it to the attention of the mods, though.
>>
>>464767
Switch /v/ and /trash/ and see how long it takes for anyone to notice
>>
>>464767
Here's an idea: Kick out the irresponsible admin who doesn't give two shits about the website and get another one who does.

If the new admin gets bored with the imageboard within 2 months and refuses to add any new features, boards, ideas into it then he gets thrown out and replaced with a new fresh one who's ready for action.

Kinda like how we should decide our presidents. No more waiting 5 years for another chucklefuck.
>>
/mlp/'s current userbase should be relocated to another chan.
>>
Why can't all the boards strive to be like /tg/? Why is /tg/ one of the only intellectual places on the entire internet? Those elves and dwarves can magic a 200 reply thread without shitposting once.
>>
>>468661
/tg/ is horrifically boring and insular
>>
>>468688
And you all envy them, you jealous little fucks.
>>
/z/ except B.B.C. (Before BeeCock)

voting for the mod would be fun itd be like US elections; retarded and fun to watch
>>
>>466168
I'd like this as an annual thing this sounds like fun
>>
>>468863
I bet you love the cup too you sperglord
>>
We need a way of fixing /lit/erature and /sci/ence. They've always been shit.
>>
Nyeh nyeh nyeh. I propose a spooky skeleton 4chan holiday... once every 2 months, at the end of the second month.
It helps add more culture to our imageboard.

The 4chan fluid container vessel (fuck you, "our system thinks your post is spam") is based, you complete autist.

>>468691
Everyone knows /n/ is the true greatest example of a 4chan community.

>>466168
This is a good idea, although I still prefer the idea I suggested yesterday in a thread that has presumably either died or been deleted now. Someone suggested Board Wars, where every board gets assigned another board to raid, and I replied to say I thought a better idea would be to pick two boards and make them have a war between them while the other boards just act as normal, only getting involved in the other boards's war if they wanted to. I proposed /po/ vs /pol/ as my example, where /pol/ could raid the slowest board on 4chan, and every anti-/pol/ poster could leap to their defence, shitposting thousands of pictures of origami to show their hatred of neo-Nazis. You could have other wars like /n/ vs /o/, where every 4chan user without a car declares a war on every 4chan user with a car, and the war would lead to plenty of posters from other boards discovering the wonders of /n/ and /o/.
>>
Shut down 4chan without warning for a random period of time, somewhere along the lines of a week to a month. Do not announce when it's back up.
>>
Turn 4chan into a video game about raids, board wars, shitposters, annoying tripfags and seeing who can make the best original content.

You get +10 points for every faggot who kills himself on camera.
>>
>>465552
Nah, The internet is the internet, people will get to wherever if they are willing. Really if anything, /pol/ would need to be removed. /b/ and /v/ are central to board culture and moving it is just going to cause people to Funapost here.
>>
>>468661
/m/ is pretty close, but they don't have many people and Mecha hasn't been really good for a while, so a board known for optimism and hot-bloodedness is full of disappointment.
>>
Mix green and purple, see what you get.
>>
Just
Bump my shit up
>>
I want a revolution.
>>
For the mods to actually do their fucking job.
>>
>>475445
What job could they be doing, in this thread? Saying "no, those ideas are stupid?" I even posted an idea in this very thread, and I don't think they wouldn't say exactly that.
>>
>>469530
It's not even remotely similar unless your thinking of nothing but general threads.

That wouldn't happen to be what you have in mind would it anon?
>>
Crowdfund a 4chan wars game. It will be a browser game with AI, factions, points, campaigns, checkpoints.
>>
>>475971
Your idea is bad and you should feel bad.
>>
>>464767
Dude do you KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF /b/ LEAKED AGAIN?
>>
>>476283
We have the 4chan
Cup
>>
>>476387
Cats and dogs getting together, mass hysteria. Yeah.... we should have... moot should have removed /b/ long time ago.
>>
save rave
>>
>>464796
>Fascism

So /v/ then.
>>
I'd really love a 4chan tycoon game
>>
Stay bumped
>>
>>476448
Everything was fine until Dickless here let /b/ onto all the other boards!

>Is this true?

Yes, this man has no dick.
>>
I'd really love a strategic/4X game about 4chan boards, like that civ4chan mod for Civilization 4 back in the days.
