Anything I can do to prevent this in the future? I've never been a tripfag and never plan on having one. I do post on my phone and my laptop but this definitely is not me. Only boards I browse are /tv/ and /co/ and sometimes /fit/ and /toy/.
stop using a dynamic ip address and you'll never get someone else's ban.

Although 4chan saaays that you're not allowed to post with a proxy, there's basically no way to detect one except for a black list. Set up a static IP at your house and then post on 4chan through your home's IP address.
