When it comes to threads about anon's collections, be it comics, films, cards or even currency, such threads on each respective board go largely unnoticed due to most board users not being particularly interested in the hobby of collecting.
That's why i'm asking if /qa/ would advocate there being a Collections board where users who do collect just one of thousands of item types will be able to finally have a board where such threads will have meaning. If we Hiro wants to look at it from a business perspective, he should know that most collector forums have a only a percentage of google redirection due to minimal search terms for filling niches. 4chan could really benefit from this once the general public of online collectors find a home of discussion as they did for /tg/. I support this too, it'd be pretty cool to have some generals of a variety of obscure collections.

collections threads that are common around places like /toy/ or /co/, even /a/, could be moved to a /col/ board, if that were amicable to everyone else. It might free up a little space on boards that tire of generals as well as give a more dedicated place for people to show off their various collections of DVDs, figures, stamps, pogs, whatever

Thoughts? Personally i believe other than pinup cards there isnt much lewd stuff to collect. However, collecting culture transforms and there seems to be a huge influx of adult-japanese materialism going on with the constant onahole ads. Then again i wouldnt want to exempt people who collect more mature items from the board either. But lets be honest, we already have /jp/ that deals with collecting more adult themed items like dakimakuras, 90poundsofass, and dolls. If /col/ is made there wont be much lewd stuff to post, so to generate healthy traffic i say we keep it SFW so friendly collectors can feel safe browsing the board anywhere.

Sounds great. Long as the mods respect that when images are spoilered for lewd reasons then all is well. Cant tell you how many times /co/ or /v/ banned me for posting a spoiled pic that had a little too much ass.

Don't think we need one anyway. It's only two guys per board and there's barely anything to discuss. You'd have one general to show your latest findings and a few threads for resources, filling maybe 2 or 3 out of 10 pages.

To be honest i posted the strawpoll this far down the line deliberately. Putting strawpolls in OP concerning major decisions is dangerous. Cant tell you all the times some leddit-lurker decided it would be fun to repost a 4chan strawpolls back on his homesite. Best the major decisions are left to people who would actually be concerned with such a board that would take further interest in reading through this thread than just some catalogfag looking to shitvote some strawpolls.

While I can sympathize with you, I feel like this would be more of less a niche board that would only end up with threads about different kinds of collections.
I can't think of a single thread that this board could have that wouldn't be out of place on another board.
