This is getting out of control. A thread about Game of Thrones was just deleted. It wasn't /got/ general. Just a thread discussing the upcoming season because it's coming in a month. The moderation on /tv/ is so bullshit. Pedo threads, waifu threads, /v/ shit and the like stay for hours, but we can't discuss the most popular show on the planet? What gives?
>>462404
I don't understand why you would make a separate GoT thread when it could have been discussed in one of the many GoT generals. That's probably why it was deleted and frankly I don't blame the mods/janitors.
>>462411
/got/ was banned after season 5. That's why. We're allowed the occasional thread but that's it. This was the only GoT thread on the entire board and it was deleted. I want an explanation for this shit. IT'S THE MOST POPULAR SHOW ON THE FUCKING PLANET WHY CAN'T WE TALK ABOUT IT?
>>462423
>MOST POPULAR
No it isn't, it's the most "pirated" show on the planet, and even those claims are dubious because they were put out as a marketing PR release.
I think you are vastly overestimating the number of people who give a shit, much less actually pay for HBO.
>>462429
The show is still hugely popular and we still should be able to discuss it.
>ASOIAF not allowed on /lit/
>GoT not allowed on /tv/
Makes no fucking sense.
>>462430
Calm down dude
>>462430
heh you're lucky there is a /tv/ at all after the baneposting plague of 2012-15.
>>462404
Maybe because when they were allowed it was always just a bunch of rape.webms and incest.jpg
>>462442
Funny enough, that was still fine. It's when the trifecta if autists started their war, taking over the general, that things went downhill. Combined with people confusing the report button with a downvote giving the mods a headache was what caused /got/ to be banned. We were told we could still have individual threads and /got/ back once the show was back, but time and again threads get deleted. With the show a month away this has to stop.
>>462404
You can't complain about a thread deletion without showing the thread. Looks like it was http://archive.4plebs.org/tv/thread/66791098/ Next time try not making the OP a twitter repost, fag.
>>462488
I wasn't the OP, just a poster in the thread.
>>462423
>/got/ was banned after season 5
/o/ here.
Let me get this straight, you're not allowed to talk about a TV show on the board that's dedicated for discussion of TV shows?
I find that hard to believe.
>>462514
Believe it or not, but it's true. GoT threads have been deleted since the end of season 5. And you're not allowed to discuss the books on /lit/ either because the series is considered too pleb. Yet Lena Dunham's fat naked body has been on the front page of /tv/ for an hour now.
I've been posting on 4chan since the Cracky bullshit. Yes, I know I've wasted my life. But it's like I just don't get this place anymore.
>>462523
What the fuck happened? Why wouldn't you be allowed to talk about topics the board is dedicated to?
It's like a mod spinning a wheel and saying all discussions on Camaros are banned on /o/.
>>462527
Do discussions of Cameros generate 20 threads a day based on some clickbait article along with screen caps of raped and decapitations?
>>462533
It wouldn't matter if it did. Camaros are still cars and on-topic.
Just because you or I or someone else may personally dislike Camaros doesn't mean that discussion about them should be banned.
If a user(s) are breaking the rules within the thread, you ban those users - you don't delete the thread and ban it forever.
>>462533
You just described every /tv/ .webm thread, yet that's had an ongoing general since the feature was added to the site.
>>462527
>what happened
Three assholes spammed the general ad nausium and tourists confused the report button for a downvote.
>>462539
Comparing /tv/ and /o/ is like comparing a 1979 AMC Pacer and a 2011 Bugatti Veyron.
/tv/ is like the Wild West now, if you want your GoT threads you're gonna have to fight for them. If you weren't able to self-moderate them then that's your problem, those generals attracted cancerous posters so now mods have them under their radar.
>>462523
>GoT threads have been deleted since the end of season 5.
But the Doctor who-generals are allowed, despite the fact that the show isn't currently airing.
/tv/ is rotten to the core, moderated by scumbags and shills.
>>462590
But /who/ autists don't leak and keep to themselves on their containment thread, that's the difference you see.
>>462514
>I find that hard to believe
Then you don't know /tv/.
Threads can, will and do INSTANTLY degrade into entry-level bait trolling. Which would be fine except that is the "board culture" so it spins out of control and spread out of threads/generals like the cancer everyone says comes from other sites. Baneposting is a fantastic example of shit gone out of control.
And Gamer Thrones has tits, serialized children, rape and incest as major plot points. Things /tv/ loves so much they make generals about waifus, and how they want to be their fathers AND rape them. And constantly post porn.
And he said GENERALS were banned. The OP's thread was probably formatted like a general.
>>462642
Don't even try to argue with /got/ autists, they'll never understand
>>462404
*slow claps*
*steps out of the shadows*
Heh... not bad, kid. Not bad at all. Your meme, I mean. It's not bad. A good first attempt. It's plenty dank... I can tell it's got some thought behind it... lots of quotable material...
But memeing isn't all sunshine and rainbows, kid. You're skilled... that much I can tell. But do you have what it takes to be a Memester? To join those esteemed meme ranks? To call yourself a member of the Ruseman's Corps?
Memeing takes talent, that much is true. But more than that it takes heart. The world-class Memesters - I mean the big guys, like Johnny Hammersticks and Billy Kuahana - they're out there day and night, burning the midnight meme-oil, working tirelessly to craft that next big meme.
And you know what, kid? 99 times out of a hundred, that new meme fails. Someone dismisses it as bait, or says it's "tryhard," or ignores it as they copy/paste the latest shitpost copypasta dreamt up by those sorry excuses for cut-rate memers over at reddit. The Meme Game is rough, kid, and I don't just mean the one you just lost :^). It's a rough business, and for every artisan meme you craft in your meme bakery, some cocksucker at 9gag has a picture of a duck or some shit that a million different Johnny No-Names will attach a milion different captions to.
Chin up, kid. Don't get all mopey on me. You've got skill. You've got talent. You just need to show your drive.
See you on the boards...
