Does anyone dislike /tg/? I see people shit on every other board, but never /tg/.

>>

I have mixed feelings about quests.
>>
>>458098
I wish the quests I like would come back or run more and the quests I don't like would stop.
>>
>>458121
I might like quests under certain circumstances
>>
there's nothing really to hate about it.

it runs well, is self-contained, people enjoy it there.

only people who don't appreciate its subject would be at most indifferent.
>>
/tg/ is becoming SJW central like /co/.
>>
>>458166
But I thought all fa/tg/uys were /d/eviants.
>>
>>458098
/pol/ approves of /tg/'s existence because generally the only table game that black people usually play is craps.
>>
>>458126
THIS
>>
>>458166
Nah, it's becoming /whiningaboutimaginarysjws/ like /qa/.
>>
It's got its own issues. Stuff like too many quest threads and those stupid "that guy" whining threads. Compared to a lot of boards though it's pretty good.

My theory is that boards about physical hobbies and hobbies that require actual interaction between people are better. /tg/ is both, which is why people are more chill.
>>
>>458098
/tg/ is one of the best boards

It's boring now because I spend less time on it
>>

/tg/ is good thanks to rddit

WEAVER DESTROYED /tg/
>>
>>458121
Can you repeat the question about quest?
>>
>>458098
I used to post on /tg/ with the mindset of a competitive MtG player, so I obviously hate the board because they don't know shit about card games.
They might even be good when it comes to other stuff and shit but I don't care with those, so I'm unable to judge.
>>
I dislike it, it used to be good, but went to shit. However the people on /tg/ still seem to think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
>>

>>
>>458098
>Does anyone dislike /tg/?

Yes. It's complete shit since quests took over. Before then, it was Warhammer 2K spam. I haven't touched the board in months, and I'll probably never go near it ever again.

I don't think it was ever possible for /tg/ to have a discussion about board games, or any other traditional medium of gaming for that matter.. The regulars would actually try to funnel all board game or card game discussion into a single general so it wouldn't displace any of their precious roleplaying threads. Anyone who wanted to discuss board games was a second-class citizen there.
>>
>>458621
I'll have to decline this quest.

No they don't, anon. Only you do. Remember that thieves think that everyone steals.
Most of 4chan detests that site and everything about it, /tg/ is no different.
>>
>>458098
They are are a bunch of newfags and it shows.
>>
>>458098
I think that's because the material /tg/ covers is too esoteric for most people. If you don't know it, you can't shitpost about it. So the board's just a bunch of people who genuinely like the stuff.

As such it's a pleasant board that's hard to complain about. The most you'll get is empty boogeyman posts like >>458166 that don't really mean anything.

I'm mildly disappointed /tg/ never has any actual discussion about THE traditional board games like chess, go and backgammon. The fact that /sp/ has better traffic over the World Chess Championships than /tg/ does speaks volumes of this
>>
>>459541
They do, it's just not the focus since /tg/ isn't really interested in non-evolving media

>>
>>460197
Stories where an author asks questions or offers choices for anons to influence the story.
>>
>>460200
So it's just a CYOA? Why would those overwhelm a board?
>>
>>460212
Check out /mlp/ sometime. The board's been pretty much overrun with them. Kinda wish that shit would stop, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. I partially blame the hiatus, but I'm sure they'll still be around when S6 finally airs. As much as I hate to admit it, they're quite popular.
>>
We actually had a quest here earlier. It was the best, except for the thong flossing part, which was kind of gross. I hope we have another sometime.
>>
>>460219

Why would anyone do this?

Well my main problem was them focusing way too much on modern shit made by greedy companies that dont care about quality (same problem /a/ has) but the OSR general has fixed that and convinced me that some /tg/ anons know their shit enough to respect their opinions
Oh and fuck quests and their "we da best board" meme it was obnoxious
All in all one of the better boards though. If i was mod there id probably be meaner to Games Workshop and WotC fans tho, they need to get better taste
>>
>>460354
Literally the same thing /a/ talks about but they consider themselves above the rest of the site. Funny how similar /a/ & /mlp/ are discussion wise despite supposedly being the opposite extremes when it comes to board quality
>>
>>460401
>Literally the same thing /a/ talks about
You clearly don't even browse /a/. /mlp/ is general hell, board quality wise it exist at the very bottom.
>>
>>460401
As the other anon said, you clearly don't browse /a/. /mlp/ is utterly incapable of producing content. Your normal posts would be considered shitposting on /a/.
Yes, you can pick out examples where they're similar, but it's impossible to form a proof with nothing but examples.
>>
>>460354
How is this adaptation? I was surprised an awesome studio like Gonzo was actually doing it, made me wonder if for once someone properly adapted a VN into an anime.

Not gonna watch it for a while though because the VN's almost translated anyway.
>>
>>460408
>made me wonder if for once someone properly adapted a VN into an anime
No. Ask again later and the answer will still be no. Japan can't even manage to properly adapt a novel into an anime, what makes you think they'll suddenly figure out how to adapt branching stories?

>How is this adaptation?
Going by that annoying VN anon, its shit as fuck. How is it as an anime? It's good. Its basically just a fun comfy anime about Asuka doing silly Asuka things with MC-kun self-insert basically removed and all story removed.

It's threads are shit though. Putting aside the vn anon posting a lot in them, it was picked up recently by a y/u/ritard and he has been shitting them up.
>>
>>460197
>What are quests?
Shitposting.
>>
>>460411
That is sadly true.

>>460413
Though, that does actually still sound like fun. If it were one of those VNs with no translation happening any time soon I'd be tempted to watch it for the hell of it and have a good time. As it is, I'll just have a good time with the VN first and save the anime for later. I'll try to disassociate the two in my mind. Shame about the threads but that's pretty much inevitable on this site.
>>
>>460411

/tg/ a shit.

It's basically "if /b/ was filled with 10 years old instead of 15 years old"

>>>/tg/45861912

45 out of the 150 threads are quest and generals. 1/3 of the board is filled with /trash/. The board has been creatively dead and stagnant since Nazimod
>>
>>458098
>I see people shit on every other board
People shit on /k/ and /o/? I don't browse either of them, so maybe I just never noticed it, but I've always thought there were two of the more universally "agreeable" boards, excusing the smaller ones like /3/ and /p/.
>>
>>464389
Libtards hate /k/ because guns and I've seen people on /g/ insult /o/.
>>
>>464127
Quests are highly creative, so go fuck yourself.
>>

>anime waifushit
>creative

>>
>>464783
And you don't seem to understand.
>>
>>464670
>quests are highly creative
You're delusional. suptg is filled with dozens of one or two thread quest stillbirths that didn't go anywhere. Quests are as cancerous as generals.
>>
>>460407
Not him and I have never browsed /a/ long enough to be able to judge it properly but I can assure you that I have never seen anything like mid-2012 to late-2013 /mlp/, anywhere on the internet it was quite glorious while it lasted.
Now however the board is shit and has been like this since the time the shitstorm from EQG died out.
My question is this: Does /a/ worth checking out?
I mean... they all seem to watch anime in Japanese and it takes time and effort to learn a new language (English is not even my native language) so how's /a/ in general?
And what do you mean when you talk about /a/'s capability to produce content?
>>
>>465002
Well you can't spell autistic without /a/. Lets put it like that. /a/ has a few generals like jojo and monmuso I don't browse as much as I use to but those are the one ones I remember the most. I mean you can get a good discussion but you need to be watching the show. The difference between /Mlp/ and /a/ is that /a/ isnt based around one show so it can't really can't get that stagnant but since it can have multiple threads about a certain show generally you going to miss the actually good threads because you're not watching that show. Plus alot of the threads are about shit shows and honestly /a/ can be the most cancerous about their sense of "taste". If you really want to know what /a/ is like then just browse for a week and only check out what interests you. That should be enough.
>>
>>466035
>honestly /a/ can be the most cancerous about their sense of "taste"
Easiest way to spot a newfag. /a/ isn't nearly as elitist as it used to be, and it has always been a defense mechanism. The casual anime community is one of the most obnoxious, cancerous community that exists, topped only by furries. By being elitist about everything, /a/ puts up a shield so that they don't have to deal with those people.
>>
>>458166
No we simply have a surge in people who see social justice warriors where there are none
When they get called out on it they just say we are social justice warriors
The moment we see auctual social justice warriors we are just as quick to anger as always
>>
>>458166
-4 str
>>
>>466035
Yeah imstead of being based around one show its based around endless extremely similar shows and if you try to discuss anything that isnt shonen or moe you will 404 with 5 replies 3 of which will be shitposts
>>
>>458572
Why the hell do people self censor the word reddit? It makes them sound ridiculous.
>>
>>467305
It's okay, anon. Show me on the doll where /a/ touched you.
You posted a reddit-tier thread and it was ignored. Your posting style here is obnoxious, so I wouldn't be surprised if you made one of those MANIME threads or something. Next time, try lurking before making a thread. I was browsing /a/ for two years before I ever even posted.
>>
Until /tg/ can handle again the occasional "Bitches for Thulsa Doom," and "Elf slave wat do?" threads, it shall remain a shadow of its former self.

The quest threads should probably be split to another board, not because they don't belong. They are a sufficiently new and exciting art form that deserves the focus that could be had with a separate community.

None of this matters though. Most of the fun and exciting development crew has moved off-site into their own communities where the creative spirit of /tg/ now resides.

/tg/ is a fucking joke, considering the Chess Candidates Tournament to choose who will challenge Magnus Carlsen's title is going on right now, and there are no threads about it on /tg/.
>>
>>467459

>complaining about there not being a thread
>not just making the thread yourself
>>
>>467520
Don't browse /tg/, but I assumed it should be a predominant topic right now, and it isn't. How many replies do chess threads get anyway?
>>
>>467548
You don't have a clue, do you?

/tg/ loves chess threads. They can easily get like 100 replies in a couple hours, tops. But don't get me wrong. They don't actually love the chess game, or strategies, or whatever. They love the threads about chess.

Is... hard to explain... you may understand it when you see one, and the moves list goes like:

d4 d5
e3 Nc6
c4 Godzillah3
Empraha6 Godzillaxh8
>You just activated my trap tile!
>But today isn't monday!

...

Now, if you want a serious discussion about chess, maybe /asp/ is the place for it.
>>
>>467904
>if you want a serious discussion about chess, maybe /asp/ is the place for it.
No thanks. Have a look, it's mandrama central.
>>
I believe /tg/, more than any other board, has become a victim of its own reputation. People go there trying too hard to create the next Sir Bearington, when really it's just a board where people talk about Magic and 40k.
>>
>>467904
>How DARE these people have fun on MY board?!
Fuck off.
>>
>>468020
This. Also the "you don't even need the other boards" meme coupled with "/tg/ gets shit done" has made it so any retard with an idea up his ass will shit it out in the hopes that fa/tg/uys can craft a workable concept about it.
>>
>>458098
Because no one gives a fuck about fat neckbeards playing D&D and Warhammer. They're content with their own stuff, and that's ok.
>>
>>458098
/tg/ by it's very nature, is a board that requires a willingness to learn, agreement of rules, and often creativity on the part of its user base. Point being, to be a part of /tg/ you kinda need to be both willing and able to put some real work into your hobby (learning rules, metas, buying games and merchandise, etc). This keeps out casuals, crossies and other undesirables with no real interest in the subject.

Could do with less quests though, but it's not as if the good threads are choked out either.
>>
>>458098
Very cancerous board, the "best board" meme has no foundation and the users are literal neckbeards of the worst kind.
