What is the real difference between eastern and western animation and/or video games?
Are the differences purely geographical?

There isn't just one kind of western game or japanese game to make direct comparisons.
I mean, japanese have the traditional arcades, their own take on RPGs (which evolved through time so much), gasha games (which evolved into the current mobages and recently sports games took it into account), and there's a whole another discussion when it comes to all the way the brands manage their franchises and market their games.
