But due to the poor self-control that most people show, it's mostly just used to shitpost and act like a worthless sack of trash while flatly insulting anyone or thing you don't like.

It doesn't make a conversation better or worse, it just allows you to have a conversation from a different perspective. There's no ego involved so the conversation tends to focus on core elements of discourse instead of personal attacks, although personal attacks do also come into play, which is kind of funny because nobody knows who you are and any personal attacks are generally top-notch projecting.
