It was never intended to have one topic overwhelming the board. and they aren't even overwhelming it with quality discussion. they are spamming shitposting threads, Meme threads, and Waifu threads. They were fine on /sp/ when they stuck to one general but now that they are on /asp/ with almost no moderation they are out of control.

Before the wrestling fags came we were about as fast of a board as /out/ which is not very fast but not the slowest on this site.
