>mods leave literal shitposting thread open on /a/
>it accumulates 800 replies
>ban people who posted in it
Then why not just fucking delete the thread in the first place?

Link the thread. I can probably guess what type of thread it'll be.

Good thread
>>422026
Well I was wrong.
People who latch on to a barely funny thing they see are the worst on any board. Should've just banned the guy.
Probably too busy enjoying pic related to notice the thread at first.
>>422026
Aaaaand it's gone
>>422016
It's Nipplemod's petty revenge. He's still salty about the Valkyrie Drive incident so he takes his revenge on /a/ by letting an off-topic thread max out before banning en masse. Bet you anything the mod in that Rebbit content discussion thread was him.
>>422146
I think that mod was Swaglord. He's the only mod that posts and it matches with his posts on /tv/.
>>422026
That was pretty clever. Draw out the people who deserve to be banned, ban them, and THEN deal with the thread. Funny though because I wondered the same thing when I saw that episode.

I know I'm expecting the impossible by saying this, but I think that each and every single big board on this site should have at least one alert & active mod or janitor so that something like this doesn't happen again.
Threadbans are fantastic and should be used more often.
