i just started studying information technology.
it's time for a new notebook. my old one is nearly 10 years old.

i mainly need to work with various virtual machines for programming purposes.

Are there any brands you recommend? or any brands you tend to avoid?

all i need is ram i guess. the more, the better. but beneath that. could you provide further advice?

price range 400-800$

I suggest getting a notebook from your local school supply store
