We get that they hate us, but there's no need to manipulate the post numbers just so they can post something /pol/ we hate.
At least these threads are less annoying than the /d/ spammer.
This discrepancy isn't new. Has been happening since THE OLD DAYS. The error crops up when two pictures are posted AT THE EXACT SAME TIME, but it gets worse when 30 or 40 or 600 pictures are all being posted at that exact millisecond.
Enjoy the conspiracy, though.

Also, no, this is a glitch and has been going on forever. Unless pointless non-GET posts that also express this discrepancy are the mods trying to make cover for when they do it in the big events.
