Toxic is a lot better than cancer. Not offensive to people who have actually had to suffer through cancer. Poison is bad. No arguing that. So if someone is behaving in a way that poisons the community, toxic is a good way to describe them.
I'm also confused by your inclusion of reactionary in that list. That term has been used for decades.
