Thats unfortunate for those boards. On /sp/ its either used for the reporters like Ian Rapoport posting breaking news before an article gets written/news show can cover it so they get credit for the story/who broke it first, or its to show athletes shit talking each other (for example most recently Josh Norman and Odell Beckham Jr had a really intense situation against each other in the Giants/Panthers game and their physical altercations and personal fouls spilled onto twitter with the 2 fighting with each other via tweets and now Odell is suing the league for homophobic slurs used against him in said game.)
