Are underage b& who lurk before they post just as good as regular 4channers?

There was a conversation on /b/ about underage b& and how some teenagers have pretty much blended into the 4chan community because they take time to lurk and don't go immediately to shitposting.

Are there people on 4chan who are fine with this?
>>
I'm fine with it.
The reason that the 18+ rule is there is so that the place doesn't turn into a beehive for 10 year olds to start shitposting resulting in the site being impossible to maintain.
If minors are there, but contributing to discussion and following rules, why should I give a fuck?

>The reason that the 18+ rule is there
no it's because of US law you dolt
you must be 18 years of age to look at boobs on the computer
>>
>>388500

Kids will pick up on swearing and sex one way or the other though, federal law isn't stopping kids from viewing 4chan or porn websites.
>>
>>388492

I'm pretty sure a majority of people on 4chan discovered the site while they were teenagers.
>>
>>388492
No. Go back to Reddit
>>
>>388501
An ineffective law doesn't stop being law just because it's ineffective.
>>
>>388501
But federal law is requiring those sites to label themselves as 18+
>>
>>388495
This, though if they admit it they should still be banned.
>>
>>388492
I don't have a problem with it. I started using 4chan when I was 15 in 2012, (18 now), and started on /b/, read ED and other meta things and within a year, learned pretty much everything about 4chan.

Underaged b& who don't reveal that they are underaged b& are the lifeblood of this website. They're just as smart as a slightly above-average poster, but they still have a zeal and zest for life that people over the age of 24 lost a long time ago. The reason old-/b/ was so good was because it was 90% underaged b& who believed in taking advantage of their anonymity and hiding their age. Today the website is mostly of-age morons who are cynical about everything and would never be caught dead complimenting anybody. The only reason you'd ever get a reply to any post today is if somebody disagrees with you and wants to call you mean things.

We traded "FTW" and "EPIC" for "S.MH" and "Cuck".

This, but many kids these days are totally different than the kids in 2005. Just look at the 4chan panels, it's the same with being a weaboo, the weabs of a few years ago were looked down upon and weren't very cringy compared to today.
>>
I actually started browsing when I was 11. I'm 19 now.
>>
>>388695
I dunno, I used to be one of those cringey anime kiddos. I bought a goddamn novelty replica reverse blade Rurouni Kenshin sword and ended my sentences with "That it is" where applicable. I didn't used to think I was cringe inducing until later when it dawned on me that there were still people that did the sort of thing I grew out of.

I think kids back in 2005 just seem less cringey because you were 10 years younger 10 years ago, and when you watch the video you feel so much nostalgia.

Just look at /v/, the board filled with 13-18 year olds:

>shitposting 24/7
>can't seem to stop complaining about SJWs (even though they have no power past tumblr)
>this makes up 99% of /v/

ayy lmao sounds great senpai
>>
>>388718
/v/ being full of underage b8 is inevitable considering that it's a board for video games. Same goes for /b/, /s4s/, /vp/ etc.

The main issue with new users is that they see anons ironically shitposting when they first come here, and then assume that's the norm. Thus taking that pre-conceived idea with them when they migrate to other boards from /b/ or /v/.
>>
I found 4chan when I was 13. That was six years ago, I've only been posting for 18 months. Seeing this place change is strange, still feeling like a newfag is equally odd.
>>
>>388718
Are you surprised that people who play video games as their primary hobby are actually pretty immature?
>>
>>388501
This>>388515

It's a formality. The policy is to ban underage if they expose themselves as underage, but this can never be 100% enforcable. Everyone knows there always has been and is always going to be underage on 4chan. The site was founded by a 13 year old after all.
>>
>>388492
I can't stand it.

It ruins both board quality and discussion quality.

If you are not old enough to be on 4chan, either don't post until you're old enough and understand the rules and culture of the boards you're on, or fuck off.

Salty and autistic.
Just how I like em
>>
>>389764

I'm pretty sure there's underage that lurk before they post you salty faggot.
>>
Let's be real here.

A 17 years an 364 days and 23 hours old person with an IQ of 190 is a better poster than an 18 year old with an IQ of 70.

If nobody can tell you're <18 years old, you're fine. Nobody minds.

If you ever make it clear that you're breaking the rules, then you're a problem.

You won't go to jail for killing somebody. You go to jail for being CAUGHT killing somebody.
>>
>>390008
what the fuck does IQ have to do with post quality? there are lots of insufferable shitposting and unfunny faggot retards that are still very intelligent, just look at reddit
>>
>>390129
Very good, Anon. General concepts have special case scenarios quite frequently. Like age and post quality does.

I don't like them, but there's no point in getting angry at it since there's nothing I can do about it.

Many times you just want to talk to people like yourself who share your hobbies and interests and you just can't do that with kids who aren't even as old as the game or anime you're talking about. My favorite threads are generally about older games or anime and it's a laid back atmosphere that isn't full of aggression and identity issues that define threads populated with teenagers.
/v/'s shitposting is legendary, but it's also easy to filter if you stay out of the threads that interest kids

>[s4s]
>underage
you've got to be freakin memeing me!
>>
>>390169
>older anime
>filled with older people
Nah, those will be mostly filled with underages most of the time because 'moeshit killed anime all new anime is bad'. You are looking for the words niche old anime and in general non-mainstream manga
>>
>>388492
I've been on 4chan since I was 14. I am now 21. I rarely post, even in threads that say "Lurkers, identify yourselves."
>>
>>388492
I never posted until I was 18 I just lurked. I think I started browsing at 15. I post way too much now, I think I will try to go back to lurking.
