You're destroying your own site 6 gorillion times more effectively than any redditor ever could. All it does is lower the signal-to-noise ratio even further, because it's not like any tourist actually takes those repetitive comments seriously.
So do us all a favour and channel your impotent spergouts into a text file. Print and send it to Penn Jillette if you want someone to read it.
>>
And only true Redditards get triggered by this. So do us all a favour and go back to your cancerous site.

Heeelllllllllooooooooooo reddit!
>>
>>379658
>And only true Redditards get triggered by this

this, if you don't act like a reddit user you won't get told to go back to reddit. i have never been told to go back to reddit(though I assume salty redditors will quote me and do just this to "get" me)

the biggest problem with this fucking website is nobody lurks anymore, and nobody wants to assimilate into the site culture anymore

people just come here from whatever shithole site they came from and expect the userbase, rules, and mods to all change to their liking

gee where do we see a parallel to this in real life
>>
I remember seeing a screencap of r/4chan where people were complaining about being told to go back to reddit as if it were a crime. They said that they were the ones who created and supported "board culture" and that /v/ was for "funposting" while /vg/ was for actual discussion.
>>
>>379665
>define acting like a redditor
Oh you mean having an opinion contrary to the one being circle jerked? Actually contributing a thoughtful well written respons to OP and not just joining the chain of people dumping reaction images to whatever shitpost/bait was dumped? Calling someone >>>/reddit/ is literally the same thing as spamming *IDF when someone doesn't come in riding the kek train and bothers to argue his position.

Besides, if anyone actually knew the defining characteristic of reddit, circlejerks, they should have some sense of self awareness when they use epithets to shut down discussion.
>>
>>379678
r/4chan is cancer and is the most ironic example of a community claiming to be "true 4channers" while spending time exclusively on reddit. They have a huge love affair with the culture of 4chan, specifically that of /pol/, and are the likely culprits for /pol/ shit leaking on other boards, moreso than actual /pol/fags who can keep /pol/ in /pol/. r/4chan takes all the forced edginess of 4chan and multiplies it; they are essentially bandwagoners here for the memes and "culture" when in fact they are the ones destroying the forum.

So yes, reddit is bad for 4chan, but its not the SJW tumblrina psuedo intellectual boogeymen you should be worried about.
>>
>>379665
Redditors do lurk 4chan, they browse the condensed, edgy and trendy r/4chan version, where they get all the forced edginees, dank memes and shitposts, without actually taking part in the community. When they do come here, they take what they know (shitposting and forced edginess) and bully natives here for using 4chan for something other than lolrandum shitposts. They essentially treat the entire forum like its /b/ /v/ and /pol/ all in one, and forget the actual discussions and interactions that happen on the rest of the forum.

Was 4chan was a bastion of intellectual discourse free from shitposting before /r/4chan was created?

Memes created by KC, Ylilauta, and 4chan are literally all over the web. People post phrases like "dank memes can't melt steel beams" underneath YouTube videos, and le Facebook amphibian even had a guest appearance on the BBC. Blaming redditors for the decline of your favourite board's quality with absolutely no evidence is literally the definition of 'bogeyman'.

you bogeyman-addled bikeshedding faggots have a habit of crying about reddit every time someone who isn't a reactionary college kiddo jumps in a discussion with an opinion opposite of your own, especially when those opinions have something to do with site culture, like when they tell you that 4chan isn't your personal garbage dump and/or hugbox

just accept that you are literally as cancerous as r/4chan migrants and fucking kill yourselves already, your whining and crying about reddit in a vain effort to "assimilate" into "4chan culture" has literally contributed jack shit to any discussion ever

I hope you all get perma'd for violating GR3 with your garbage like you should be.

This site is crawling with Redditors, and I don't mean people who just use Reddit or came here from Reddit. I mean people who've grown up with Reddit and social media and spend all day screaming on 4chan that anything even vaguely related to anime must go to the /a/ subreddit because that's how subreddits work, and because they feel triggered by anime and need their safe space. All of those people must be banned.
>>
>>382755
So in your opinion the only way people could not want to see anime is if they grew up with Reddit and social media.

Not quite sure how to break the bad news, but the diagnosis is that you're a retard. All of you idiots with your astute observations just can't get seem to get over the fact that people are going to disagree with you and dislike what you like or what you favor and think.

Funny fact, we've been telling people to go back to fucking Reddit since your kind infested this place, but only last month Redditards started with this ">le using boogeymen xD" and "hurr durr filter Leddit" bullshit. I just wonder how new are you here. I'm 100% sure you are a newfag because you act like you don't know why this site hates Reddit, or 9gag, or eBaums. They aren't just a "boogeyman", they are a fucking problem and people like you make this site unusable nowadays. Fucking lurk before posting your shit opinion.
>>
>>382762
People who've grown up with Reddit and social media think everything works like Reddit and social media. You can't even explain to them how 4chan works, they just can't understand it.

And normies in general get really assblasted over anime.
>>
>>382793
Yep, anime really makes you abnormal, you special snowflake, you.

Your opinion is entirely discarded on the basis that you genuinely are retarded. Watching anime is apparently something that is still underground, and millions of people don't do it at all. Just because you can't live a normal life and watch anime doesn't correlate with your idiotic conclusion that it's anime that makes you a special unique snowflake or that anime is only enjoyed by flawed and, in your case stupid, people.

There's nothing to "understand" about 4chan. There isn't some deeper, underlying purpose or meaning to all of this. At the end of the day it's a site that people go to, to piss away ungodly amounts of time bullshitting with, discussing with and arguing with people. That you think there's anything to "get" is hilarious. Ascribing deeper meaning and purpose to 4chan is exactly why people end up pulling the false dichotomy whose existence you argue for the sake of, that if someone disagrees with you or doesn't think or act like you, they're from Reddit.

And I'm willing to wager you're one of those people who dislike Reddit because "it's a hugbox," while you're blissfully unaware of your contradicting narrative: That Reddit wants everyone to think like they do or else they get downvoted into oblivion, and yet you're totally absolved from any criticism as you work from a similar viewpoint but instead of downvoting, you just shitpost and witch hunt against people who disagree with you.

You're totally different, Anon.
It really is amazing that this site weathered through 2015 with people who think like this. 2016 is going to be fucking dreadful.
>>
I was here during the great reddit panic during what 2010 or 2011? I never went to reddit so I actually believed they all spoke using le this and le that. I didn't find out until years later it was only a small portion of reddit that used that and 4chan basically made up its own boogeyman.

I know we've always had and will have a boogeyman from gaiafags to newfags to summer fags to normies to SJW'S and everything in between but reddit shit has gone on for too long and is used too often. It's basically just another version of u mad at this point.
>>
>>382798
>Yep, anime really makes you abnormal, you special snowflake, you.
Why are you trying to pin this on me? I am simply saying that normies get mad about it, and they do. And that's all there is to it. It's got nothing to do with me.

>There's nothing to "understand" about 4chan.
>That you think there's anything to "get" is hilarious.
Hello Redditor.

Ok, you know how Reddit has subreddits that are started by whoever and have nothing to do with each other? Well 4chan doesn't work like that. 4chan started as a site for talking about anime etc. and sharing relevant images, and then expanded from there to include other topics. And it didn't expand because users made subreddits but because the site's owner made new boards. Even today 4chan has a disproportionate number of boards dedicated to otaku topics, and almost every banner you see is related to them.

Redditors want to take over 4chan and turn it into Reddit 2.0. They don't understand how the site works and don't care to, they just want more Reddit. So they (by which I also mean you) can fuck right off. Reddit already exists, so just go back there.
>>
>>382826
>Hello Redditor.
And just like that I can discard this person's opinion, people.

You see, it doesn't matter where you're from. If you're wrong, you're wrong, and no subjective and pathetic whining about where the other person is from can change it. If I were a Redditor, you'd have looked even more stupid. Nice going. Not even reading the rest of your garbage because it's just not even worth it.
>>

You're the one who couldn't argue against anything I said in >>382826 and just claimed you didn't even read it.
>>
>>382840
You reach for copouts, I opted to drop out.
If you have nothing original to say and start screaming about Reddit, I have every right to call you a retard. You shouldn't talk about not being able to argue against anything, that's your whole repertoire here.

If you're so discontent with being ignored, maybe you should strive to be something more than a typical 2015 4chan memester.
>>
>>382844
This redditard sure got triggered hard. Now off you go.
>>
>>382845
Keep memeing. It's totally not the Reddit thing to do at all.
>>
>>382844
You claimed there's nothing to get about 4chan because as a Redditor you just naturally assume this place is exactly like Reddit, and I showed that you're wrong. And you can't come up with anything relevant to say in response.
>>
>>382847
You've pretty much outed yourself when you chose to ignore the other anon even when he made a valid point. That's just so typical of a redditor to do and the fact that you're sitting here trying to defend your typical reddit behavior isn't helping you either. Enjoy 4chan all you want. Just know you're gonna be told to go back to your hug box every time because you reek of it.
>>
>>382852
The only reason why you think he made a valid point is because he more than likely appealed to your no-life born sense of solidarity with a website heavily laden with shitposting.
>>382850
Yes, 4chan is a deep and mystifying experience, there really is something to get about it. Anyone who disagrees with this is just a filthy Redditor. Why did I waste my time typing all of this, it's like arguing with SJWs.
>>
>>382854
You're still trying to pull this strawman on me? I never said there's anything mystical about 4chan, and I just explained to you that I'm talking about how the site functions and what it's for. Try again.

I think you just need to go back to Reddit at this point. I mean, you disagreed with me, you're obviously from there.

If you don't have solidarity for 4chan you're probably spending time with other communities that aren't 4chan, because that kind of thing naturally develops if you stick around the same kind of people long enough.

Maybe it's not Reddit (as the conversation continues I've been suspecting more and more strongly that it is in fact Reddit) but I'm fairly sure there's something there.
>>

Stupid assumption.

Yeah, I'd say it's fairly arbitrary and works on the binary of "I like what this person is saying, they're one of us" or "I don't like what this person is saying, and that means they're from Reddit."
>>
>>382908
So you spend basically all your online social time on 4chan and you still don't feel any measure of solidarity with any of the other posters?

I guess you could have an active and fulfilling real life that keeps you off the internet.
>>
>>382911
Or maybe I spend time off of the computer.
Nah. Couldn't be.

Why would I feel solidarity toward a bunch of retards calling everyone they disagree with Redditors, who spend countless hours crashing threads with stupid arguments and ad hominems? >>382912
>Or maybe I spend time off of the computer.
It's difficult to believe that when you do get on the internet, you immediately seek out a community where you hate the vast majority of the people and talk with them exclusively, but I guess there are people with all kinds of taste in this world.
>>
>>382913
You're implying that I'm immediately going to care about everything you say and ask solely because you say and ask those things. You forget that 4chan doesn't work like that; I don't have to answer anything I don't care about. Your question is stupid and begs an idiotic question, therefore I'm not answering it. How's that sound?

>>
>>382917

You insist so much on calling me a Redditor that I don't feel obligated to explain anything to you. You're not interested in a conversation, you're fishing for a witch hunt. You're counting on more and more people to come into the thread to start shouting me down with Reddit accusations to the point to where I just shrug my shoulders and leave. But that only proves me right.

>You have never been to /tv/ or /sp/ I take it.
I don't visit those boards too often.

>Retarded people aren't subhuman. They just can't help being retarded. That doesn't mean I should enjoy their company.
You said they didn't qualify as people. And honestly - if you don't enjoy their company, why do you go out of your way to spend your time on the internet conversing with them exclusively? I can't imagine why you'd zero in immediately on the memespouting retard capital of the internet as opposed to various other discussion boards.
>>
>>382931
I don't know, can you go back to Reddit?
>>
>>382930
Nice try, Redditor.

By the way you also talk like a Redditor. Veeeeery obvious you're not from here.
>>
>>382933
>I don't visit those boards too often.
I noticed.
>You said they didn't qualify as people.
I did, and they don't. They're retards and not people but they're not subhumans.
>if you don't enjoy their company
>their company
I don't enjoy their company, they're not who I'm here to talk to. I talk to people that can actually hold a conversation that doesn't go MEME MEME MEME MEME SJW REDDIT KEK JOO MAN SURE IS BETTER THAN REDDIT HUH. I don't spend my time with those sorts of people, there's no exclusivity.
>>382935
Muh arbitrary standards that only I know and can apply at any time someone says something I dislike.
>>
>>382937
Once again, Redditor, I never said that people are Redditors just because they disagree or because they said something I don't like. You cannot make this strawman into reality no matter how many times you try to force it.
>>
>>382937
Well, people and humans are the same in my book, but I guess we should be tolerant.

>I talk to people that can actually hold a conversation that doesn't go MEME MEME MEME MEME SJW REDDIT KEK JOO MAN SURE IS BETTER THAN REDDIT HUH.
So why don't you converse with the people on Reddit, where retarded meme spam often gets downvoted out of visibility? Do you just hate pseudonymity and nested replies that much?
>>
>>382938
Sure, that's why you started calling me that after I disagreed with you about the notion that there is no deep meaning or function to 4chan beyond a basic means of communication. Nice try.
>>382939
Because I don't prefer Reddit. That's why.
>>
>>382814

>>
>>382934
No, but I think you both should go back to reddit. One of you guys posting style, word choices, retorts and argumentative patterns literally scream reddit and I can't tell if its a elaborate well-played bait or serious, I can't tell on /qa/ anymore. And the other is a retard who's taking the site too serious. You shouldn't be taking the site serious at all, but still maintaining enough seriousness to think low effort shitposting should fuck off
>>
>>382940
>Because I don't prefer Reddit.
Any rationale for it?
>>
>>382943
Why does everything have to have a reason or rationale behind it? I just don't prefer it.
>>
>>382940
Once again, Redditor, I never said there's something "deep" about 4chan, I just said that it doesn't work like Reddit. Which you were unaware of until I explained it to you. Because you're a Redditor and just assumed 4chan is exactly like Reddit.

People who come here and act like this place is Reddit are Redditors and ought to be called by their proper name.
>>
>>382942
Why don't you fuck off to the Reddit-tier 4chan anime board known as /a/ before you get slapped back there child?
>>
>>382944
If you ask me why I like any given thing I like, I'm usually capable of coming up with some reasons after giving it some thought.

You can't possibly have anything better to do with your time given the fact that you're in this little slapfest on /qa/ with us, so if you "just don't want to explain" then you're perfectly free to do so.

It does mean that people will find it difficult to believe what you say, but if you don't actually care about that more power to you.

So are you incapable of putting it into words? There are things like that, I can't really explain why I prefer vanilla to chocolate because it's kind of a visceral sensation, but I'm fairly sure I am capable of explaining why I prefer one thing to another (if that's somehow different from "liking one thing more than another.")

4chan is anonymous. Reddit is not.
4chan has no user accounts. Reddit does.
4chan has no voting system. Reddit does.
4chan's (relatively small number of) boards are created by the admins. Reddit's (practically infinite) subreddits are user generated.
4chan is an anime/otaku site. Reddit has no specific theme.
4chan is an imageboard and functions very differently than Reddit.
4chan and Reddit have different "cultures."

And you still wonder why someone would call you a Redditor.

What you claim to value (discussion without memespouting retards who tell people to go back to Reddit all the time) and what you claim to do (visit 4chan exclusively for online discussion) seem to be at odds with each other.

You don't have to explain this inconsistency if you don't want to (you're not obligated to participate in this discussion at all) but it's going to make people think you're full of shit. If you're fine with that, you're fine with that.

Tripcodes are not the same thing as user accounts, as anyone even close to being a regular here would know.

>Except when it comes to the vote to derail a thread when someone says something you don't like, and then it's a democracy.
There is no voting system on 4chan.

>This is so relevant right now.
It is perfectly relevant. 4chan's boards are determined by one person or a few people in accordance with what the users need and what's appropriate for 4chan. On Reddit you can create virtually any kind of subreddit you want to and have full control over it.

>Yeah, I forget, all those otakus on /soc/.
I.e. "If people are interested in anime that means they can't be interested in anything else!" This is a typical Redditor argument we see all the time here, and it's complete nonsense.

>>
>>383006
It is a free speech issue.
Removing free speech, including the notion of voicing disapproval, a key part in 4chan's culture, is taking away one of the very few things that makes 4chan different. To say that only certain groups should be allowed to voice their opinions makes you more Tumblr than you ever could be 4chan.
>>
>>383009
>User accounts are optional on Reddit.
No they aren't.

>Sure. Nevermind the fact that I didn't say "no it isn't."

>>
>>383014
Free speech isn't even applicable here. There are many things you can't say here depending on what it is or where you say it, and that's because freedom of speech does not legally apply on 4chan.

And again, outsiders trying to take over the site is NOT a "free speech" issue. 4chan is 4chan, not Reddit. Redditors who want the Reddit experience can fuck off back to Reddit.

No, it still means nothing. Just because the admin of a site changes, doesn't mean everything changes nor does it mean the original intentions and meaning of the founder suddenly change. If this was the case, the global rules would not still apply and I could post cp at this very moment and not get banned for it. This is not the case because everything moot has done and said still matters and applies until Hiro states otherwise

It's blindingly obvious that Redditors like you keep coming here with the intention of making this place a copy of Reddit, and the fact that you consistently refuse to explain what you're doing here is just more proof of that.

Honestly, "go back to reddit" or "go back to tumblr" might be among the worst things that have happened to the site. The standard response to dumb shit used to be "lurk moar", with only the occasional "go back to SA".
Think about what these phrases mean. Telling people to lurk more expresses that there are (were?) certain standards here and that the reader will be able to fit in if they learn what those are. I didn't post once in my first year of browsing.
Meanwhile "go back to reddit" doesn't accomplish anything. Why would anyone leave the website just because you told them to? It's just a meme. There is nothing constructive about that phrase. If anything it makes new people more likely to shitpost.
>>
>>383100
Well why would someone lurk more just because you told them to? It's the exact fucking thing, except one is just saying. "Hey. Get the fuck out. Don't even bother trying to learn."
>>
Ok, you know what. You win. You can have 4chan and turn it into Reddit 2.0, and then move on to the next site and turn that into Reddit too until the entire web is just Reddit and social media cancer and every tolerable site has moved to the darknet where Redditors can't follow because they're too technically inept. And it's clear that 4chan's management doesn't mind since they have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to contain the Reddit invasion. This thread is the purest possible example of Redditor cancer and nothing is being done. Redditor isn't banned, posts aren't deleted, thread isn't deleted, nothing happens. They've given up completely, and it's clear that the users should follow their example.

Negative. It shows how useless the war is. It's like the war on terror or the war on drugs. The only winning move is not to play.

Reddit is two years younger than 4chan.

There has been cross contamination between 4chan and Reddit for ten years.

Ten years.

Reddit has been cross contaminating with 4chan since before I was old enough to post on 4chan. 10 years ago, I was 16, and I was not supposed to be posting on 4chan, and yet I did. You know why? Because I heard about 4chan in high school through word of mouth. So I went to 4chan and started posting, and you know what? My posts were shit. Because I was 16 years old.

Reddit didn't cause that.

But then I stuck around. Eventually I grew up. I never did anything that got me banned; I never said I was <18 years old. Then I got cynical. I got jaded. I melded with the 4chan community.

Then project chanology happened. The fox news videos happened. The TEACHERS at my University started warning us not to go to 4chan.

Reddit didn't cause that.

Why can't anybody see that?

Why do they think there's a villain to fight against?

4chan is 12 years old. That's an eternity on the internet. America Online was founded 30 years ago. 4chan is a third of the age of the internet.

You think REDDIT caused people to know about 4chan? You think REDDIT brings new people?

EVERYBODY has heard of 4chan.
>>
>>383233
Correction. Google knowledge just gave me a bullshit answer. I wanted 1991, not 1985. Meaning AoL is 21 years old.

September of 1993, AoL added Usenet gateways to its users. Eternal September.

That's the day sekrit clubs died.

4chan wasn't even born yet. The cancer existed already.

The cancer isn't Reddit. The cancer is Humanity. The cancer is the web being open to people who aren't the academics who built the web.

And yet none of the faggots bitching about Reddit are going to deviate from using their epic memes the very moment they get the chance. And even when they don't get the chance. Shitposting is shitposting regardless of where the fuck you came from. You can be a decade long user of 4chan and still be a massive fucking faggot, and you should be banned for being one. All faggot shitposters should be banned, ironic shitposting and otherwise. I don't hear anybody bitching about the epic memesters shitting up 4chan because they're so neck deep in their solidarity that they're fine with native users shitting everything up as long as they're not from Reddit, a place where people come here from to shit things up.

The shitposting has gotten so bad on /v/ and other boards people believe Reddit, specifically r/4chan is responsible. Of course there's a witchhunt against them. If we were to simply wordfilter Reddit things could be solved much more faster

You people are so fucking new. If you think the complaints about Reddit are bad now, you weren't here 4-5 years ago when you had legit wars between 4chan and Reddit, and literally every other post on places like /v/ was either "go back to Reddit" or ironic shitposting to make fun of Redditors.

Also Reddit did get a wordfilter a few years ago, but people just used Leddit or Rebbit so if you were there you'd know it doesn't change anything.

>These Redditor witch hunts are killing the site more than any hypothetical Redditor could
Most people who browse 4chan now came from Reddit and other sites like that, so no, these people did end up hurting the site more by pushing out the older users.

Fuck off redditor
>>
>>384563
There is no /b/-equivalent on reddit, unless you're honest with yourself and admit that you were underaged when you liked on 4chan so reddit's /r/funny is just like fucking old /b/ in that 99.9% of posts are fucking GARBAGE and 0.1% is kinda decent, but every single ASPECT of /b/ that we liked is represented somewhere on reddit as its own category.

For example, were you a fan of exploitables? Try https://www.reddit.com/r/photoshopbattles/ There, somebody will post a picture, like, say, Martin Shkreli getting arrested. http://media3.s-nbcnews.com/j/newscms/2015_51/1344216/151216-martin-shkreli-turing-mn-1110_685e2bc1850671ce6927561084202830.nbcnews-ux-2880-1000.jpg And in response people will photoshop it, ((NSFW LINK, we are on a blue board)) https://i.imgur.com/Zof8QzT.jpg

Did you like creepypastas? https://www.reddit.com/r/nosleep

Maybe you liked fucking ADVICE ANIMALS BECAUSE THAT CAME FROM 4CHAN YOU STUPID FUCK? Then you can go to hell you cancerous fuck, and then go to

Which part of old 4chan were you looking for? Was it the sheer fucking randomness?

http://reddit.com/r/random

Treat each time you click that link like you're looking at a new 4chan thread.

Maybe the part of old-/b/ that you liked was having a Pedophile ban people left and right for no fucking reason and get idolized by the community for doing so only to eventually be kicked off of the website by the main site admin? You'll find that shit on reddit too.
>>
>>384592

So your proof that oldfags migrated to Reddit is that Reddit, which is meant to be a content aggregator and a huge site that can sustain an endless amount of communities and content, has a lot of similar content you could find on old 4chan and current 4chan (regardless of how funny, clever, or original it actually is)?

You could find a lot of these things on sites like Ebaums, YTMND, SA and Newgrounds, but it's the userbase and the format that made 4chan what it was (and is now). I can't find this kind of userbase on Reddit. They're mostly faggots and the way the site works make it hard for any kind of interesting culture or conversation to develop.
>>
>>384604
You asked for a bastion of old-4chan

I don't NEED proof oldfags migrated to places like reddit and tumblr. I'm an oldfag and I migrated to reddit and tumblr.
>>
>>384607
>I don't NEED proof oldfags migrated to places like reddit and tumblr.

Then I don't need proof that the opposite happened either, since it's clearly obvious and you could find plenty of people who found the site through those two places. I think the internet is really homogenized nowadays anyway. It seems like everyone browses every site.

100% right. Though I think it started on /tv/. /tv/ was getting infested by idiots from Reddit, /tv/ told them to go back to Reddit. Redditors realized they could piss people off by mentioning Reddit and thus spread it around

That's how /v/ got infested so badly

No, that was a joke when 4chan got a bunch of traffic from Twitter faggots, so people pretended to be from Twitter since @xxxx is how you address someone on that site. It has nothing to do with Reddit.

People started calling out Redditors when 4chan got a lot of attention and reposts on Reddit, and the site got infested by them especially in 2011-2012.

The idea that most oldfags moved to places like reddit is fucking absurd, as reddit has been hated for a long time and the entire design is done in a way that it actually upsets anons and its been like that for a long time

>>
>>384914
One day you realize that most anons don't know a goddamn thing about the things they shit on, and you think, "Maybe I should form a thought of my own instead of just believing the groupthink."

On that day, you try out some of the places that people call shit. You try out tumblr, you try out Gaia, you try out 4chan, you try out League of Legends, you try out World of Warcraft, you try out livejournal, you try out whatever you want to try out.

Sometimes 4chan's groupthink proves right. It turns out gogaia is actually pretty fucking bad.

Other times you try out Tumblr and realize that the SJW side of tumblr is actually tiny. 99.9% of tumblr posts are people sharing their own little memes, posting videos of cats, and porn. Lots and lots of porn. You find that the ratio of SJW to non-SJW is actually BETTER than on 4chan's /co/ or whatever. You find that everybody was just cherrypicking.

Then you find that the systems in place for filtering content you don't like are actually really nice and inviting.

Then you find that you get COMPLIMENTS and "LIKES" when you produce content for people instead of silence or derision.

And then you stay and never look back.

(And then you look back because you relapse.)
>>
>>384925
And with that you realize that Anons are the hugboxing faggots they call everyone else, but the thing is they don't have the power to stop the things they dislike like other sites give you that power. If this whiny-ass Anon had the power to ban people, he'd do so immediately while still hypocritically saying that everyone has their say on 4chan or whatever.
>>
>>384930
>One day you realize that most anons don't know a goddamn thing about the things they shit on
I don't need to fucking use reddit to know its a complete shithole. It's entire base website design encourages a shithole of a community. Anyone that has spent actual time on the internet and been in various communitys know EXACTLY what reddit would be like just from its site design alone.

Please stop fucking formatting your posts like that reddit, it fucking pisses me off and its how I know you are a stupid reddittard

>Then you find that you get COMPLIMENTS and "LIKES" when you produce content for people instead of silence or derision.
Yea, no. Maybe if that anon is a stupid newfag who grew up on social media. Anyone who didn't grow up on social media is going to hate that shit to hell

I don't ever actually use this, but you actually should fuck back off to reddit. You are the type of person wrong with this site and think its ok to change how things run here so they can fit your view better
>>
>>384938

There's a difference between moderating to make sure a site doesn't turn into shit and doesn't get taken over by faggots and shills, and completely banning any slightly dissenting voice. A site needs to preserve its culture and userbase to keep what makes it good. If you let everything get shat upon with no moderation, it just turns into shit and there's no point browsing the site anymore.

When people talk about "hugboxing", they mean people who create hugboxes so no one ever says anything bad about anything, or never says anything politically incorrect. So you get a site for carebears. It doesn't mean you should let anyone with the shittiest opinions and behavior in.
>>

But it really isn't. If you're going to have an argument or a discussion, have it, but don't start making claims about someone else and where they're from solely because you can't hack either one. It's idiotic to say that 4chan only thinks one way and then tell people that Reddit is the hivemind.
>>
>>385092
In order for reddit to be bad or good it has to have something to compare against. I chose 4chan because it's common ground for the two of us. I hope you can see how "Reddit is bad" "Not as bad as 4chan" logically follows. You're not the only one who's allowed to introduce concepts into arguments.

>You act like we don't have these problems or people on 4chan and like this shit just comes solely because Reddit or Tumblr here. Like 4chan would be this almighty haven of quality if neither were here
Your concept introduction was fucking retarded, because my argument was reddits design fucking encourage retardation. Anon image board, if anything, encourages a blank state of free for all. 4chan's current state came not because of the site design, but people from other cultures coming here and dumping their culture here. Just like how the site's original state was a twisted abortion of SA culture
>>
>>385100
>If you're going to have an argument or a discussion, have it, but don't start making claims about someone else and where they're from solely because you can't hack either one

People will just find other ways to namecall you or tell you to fuck off. Instead they'll insult you or tell you to leave without telling you to go back to a specific site. It won't really change much. It's just how human nature works, and it's a good thing because it's how you self-moderate so your community doesn't turn to absolute shit.

>It's idiotic to say that 4chan only thinks one way and then tell people that Reddit is the hivemind.
Reddit itself isn't a hivemind, you have boards with vastly different ideologies and opinions. But the mechanisms of any given board makes it easy to create a complete hivemind where no dissent on any issues is allowed, the fact that not only can any biased fucker make a community and enforce whatever they want, but the upvote/downvote system also shapes a hivemind is what people mean.

There's nothing wrong with /a/ wanting to keep Naruto threads off their board (I don't think that's actually the case anymore but whatever), there's nothing wrong /v/ telling people defending microtransactions to fuck off, there's nothing wrong with /pol/ (or any board on 4chan) telling SJWs to get the fuck out and stop pushing their agenda on the site. You're anonymous, and only occasionally will you get banned for acting like a faggot, you already have much more leeway than on almost any other site.
>>
>>385109
The UI is a part of the entire thing, how users interact with the damn set-up.

How does fucking design encourage retardation?
Jesus Christ, stop fucking jerking off with your website jingoism, it's clear now you're just reaching for straws. You can be a fucking vapid retard on 4chan just as easily as on Reddit.`
>>

Great, have them banned if they're not interested in discussion.
>and it's a good thing because it's how you self-moderate so your community doesn't turn to absolute shit.
Okay? We have this on both 4chan and Reddit. People moderate from different corners and different measures. It all comes to mean the same thing. "Don't post what I don't like."
For example:
>There's nothing wrong with /a/ wanting to keep Naruto threads off their board
"Don't post what I don't like."
>there's nothing wrong /v/ telling people defending microtransactions to fuck off
This isn't exactly relevant but I see what you're going to.
>there's nothing wrong with /pol/ (or any board on 4chan) telling SJWs to get the fuck out and stop pushing their agenda on the site.
But there is. Allowing one side to push their own agendas all over the place is exactly why /pol/ was told to keep their shit on /pol/, because they became so overzealous they began acting like fucking bizarro SJWs, screaming about SJWs, Jews and shills all day long. There is something wrong with censoring anybody for whatever beliefs they might have. Instead of explaining "this is why you're wrong," a bunch of faggots just went for their idiotic retorts and started explaining every dissenting or disagreeable opinion away by pinning those opinions and the person that espoused them to a certain group. This is exactly what the whole case with Reddit is about. In other words it became a hamfisted "Don't post these ideas that I don't like."

>Great, have them banned if they're not interested in discussion.

What if they already had this discussion a lot of times in the past, but they're not interested in having it every time someone says something retarded? What if they tell you to fuck off to another site while they're also having a discussion at the same time? You're literally the one asking any dissent unless it's a gentleman-tier rebuttal to get banned.

>People moderate from different corners and different measures. It all comes to mean the same thing. "Don't post what I don't like."
The point is that it's not "unfair". You're not being literally silenced by a biased moderator, or having your comment deleted because it got too many downvotes, and even if you are, you can come back the next day and say the same thing because there's no account system and identity and thus no consequences for your actions.

>This isn't exactly relevant but I see what you're going to.
Yes, it is relevant. You're saying shills who defend microtransactions for example shouldn't be told to fuck off, they should be free to argue their point every time without being insulted or driven away. No they shouldn't.

>There is something wrong with censoring anybody for whatever beliefs they might have.
They're not being censored, they're being told to fuck off, and usually people argue against their retarded shit. These people aren't interested in having a discussion or listening to reason, they're interested in pushing their ideology to the 4chan userbase until they completely take over the site like they did a shitton of other sites by spending hours spreading their bullshit because they have nothing else to do, even though everyone sane knows it's not beneficial to anyone here and has no place on a site like 4chan. They're cancerous faggots who don't belong here.

The thing is, it's still trying to get people to leave because they say, do, enjoy, or think things the screamers don't like.
YOU are done now.
>>
>>385135
This might blow your mind but it's possible to not post in a thread you read.
>>
>>385135
>nows it's not beneficial to anyone here and has no place on a site like 4chan.
lol but polshit and right wing sjws and their beliefs deserve to go unchallenged because of your feefees
you have every right to tell people to fuck off retard and nobody is saying otherwise
but you also have no right to bitch when the majority of your posts are bullshit accusations and telling people to fuck off elsewhere
you dig, faggot?

And there's nothing wrong with that.

>lol but polshit and right wing sjws and their beliefs deserve to go unchallenged because of your feefees

No, they can be challenged as long as it's not done in the name of political correctness. People usually accept it because they know tolerating /pol/ shit is the sacrifice people make to avoid turning this site into another politically correct shitbox. What the fuck is this new "feefees" meme? It always seems to come from faggots like this too.

>but you also have no right to bitch when the majority of your posts are bullshit accusations and telling people to fuck off elsewhere
Bitch about what? What am I bitching about, and why do you assume people telling you to fuck off do this for the majority of their posts, or that I do it even though I've already said I don't?
>>
>>385182
>No, they can be challenged as long as it's not done in the name of political correctness.
so then you're saying they can't be challenged
holy fucking shit you dont even understand anything
>>
>>385182
There is something wrong with it when the very people complaining about the site's quality going down because of Reddit are the very ones not contributing anything but JUST GO BACK TO [X]. Shitposters don't get to have carte blanche on evicting anybody from 4chan when they're just as worthy as candidates for banning and removal themselves. It's hard to take Reddit invading seriously when 4chan's own pet retards make themselves seem like viable ban targets. You're both faggot-ridden groups.
>>
>>385184
>so then you're saying they can't be challenged

I'm saying if /pol/ tells you about how 99% of gun crimes in the US are done by muslims, you can say they're wrong, and possibly bring up statistics showing why they're wrong. If they bring up those statistics about muslims on a board about comics and cartoons without it being related to the thread, you can tell them to fuck off back to /pol/ because it has no place on a board about comics. That's not done in the name of political correctness, that's done in the name of truth and avoiding misinformation, or trying to keep the board mostly on-topic.

>I'm saying if /pol/ tells you about how 99% of gun crimes in the US are done by muslims, you can say they're wrong, and possibly bring up statistics showing why they're wrong
nah
they're just gonna go LOL FUCK OFF MIDF HOLY SHIT WHAT A LIBKEK SJW SHILL for the entire duration of the discussion
even when they're on boards they shouldn't be posting that shit on
and then when you tell them to fuck off to /pol/ not for espousing right wing beliefs but for shilling politics on an irrelevant board they get mad as fuck and start calling everyone who tells them to fuck off sjws or cucks or shilling jews
stop defending 4chan's shitposters solely because they're from 4chan
you don't mind getting dicked in the ass by shitposters as long as they're 4channers
faggot. what a faggot.

As the thread gets longer this gets more and more accurate.

I usually get told to go back to Reddit when I call out whiny emotional memesters shitposting about some hivemind-friendly topic on the board. Sure, it's not very often, but it does happen.
>>
Oh lawd, OP did it, he successfully brainwashed mods.
>>
>>385535
You got what was coming to you, faggot.

>>385535
Based mods. Fuck off dumb shitposting faggot.

Woah, calm down redditor. You're still not welcome here.

What is that link supposed to prove, that you fall for bait threads?

Whiny crybabies who blame bogeymen for all their problems are no less cancerous.
>>
>>385535
Oh hey! That's one of the posts that I reported!
>>385748
Oh shit I reported that one and never saw that it got banned.

I'm having a pretty good afternoon!
>>
>>385765
>all their problems
Using 'go back to Reddit' as a kind of downvote is stupid, pure shitposting, I agree with you. But look at /v/, for example. Look at this thread https://4ch.be/v/thread/314939969, look at how many REAL redditors posted their accounts there. The reddit invasion is not a falseflag. Filtering Reddit will just make they feel they're welcome in this site.
>>
>>385923
>just make they feel they're

Oh my god. Can we ban everybody NOT from reddit?
>>
>>385923
>Filtering Reddit will just make they feel they're welcome in this site.
No, you'll still be free to tell transplant cancer to fuck off and kill themselves, you just can't use the "go back to reddit, haha I win!" one-liner downvote and actually be more substantial about it.
>>
How about you faggots talk about something other than Reddit for once in your post histories? Protip: A cursory glance suggests none of you hardly say anything else; you don't go posts at a time without mentioning Reddit. All I'm going to say.
