/news/ was never properly announced. It got a tiny little entry in the blotter, which a lot of people hide. Hiro really REALLY likes that documentary.
Anyway, it's very slow, but it's not dead. Nothing wrong with that. You just just treat it differently than a fast board. Check it once or twice per day instead of mashing refresh in the catalog and crying that there haven't been 100 posts in the last 5 minutes.

I come from /pol/ and reddit is not invading /news/. Not every news story is about partisan politics or social justice and /news/ was never intended to be a partisan shithole where liberals and conservatives fight ideological battles. That's what /pol/ is for. /news/ is for discussing what's happening. It doesn't mean /pol/ isn't also for that, just that now there is another place to do it where different rules apply.
The fastest boards on 4chan are the worst, so why is this a bad thing?
